OK here is the deal - if you have NOT seen Heavy Metal (the movie) then you are experiencing MAJOR missed references to the tune in this context. LMFAO! You sound 15. If you knew anything, you'd know Sammy never even had a Platinum record until he joined VH and never had a Platinum or Gold record after VH. Dave had six multi-platinum records before Sammy had any.
Dave also had Platinum records AFTER leaving Van Halen. When Sammy was fired from VH, he never even went gold. Sammy owes his fame to Roth and VH.
Everything about Dave is impressive, especially when compared to Hagar.

I admit. David is alot better for the band. Not sure if it's him or just because they were all better before the early 90's. Sammy is too soft for me in most songs except for stuff like Right Now and Best of Both Worlds, but I can't stand Dave. He's a freakin coked out loser who wouldn't even share a mic. MOST IMPORTANTLY, HE THOUGHT HE WAS THE BIGGEST PART OF VAN HALEN. HE'D BE NO WHERE IF IT WEREN'T FOR ED!!!

Well, what do you expect, Dave was AWOL, and Eddie hated Dave, for over 20 years! Of course demand to see them together is going to be high. But if Dave had stayed with the band, and they had kept touring as they did with Sammy, the demand wouldn't be there. Sam has talent, Dave has a bunch of male groupies. (You know who you are.) Even Ed thinks Dave is an idiot without talent. He's just hard up for some money and attention.

I liked Van Halen's music best the first four albums. Eddie was writing great songs. Dave was in the right place at the right time. Diver Down and 1984 were not great albums, partly due to Dave's increased influence. I was just listening to Balance today, and the band kicked ass. Sammy can write great songs, plays good guitar, is a passionate rock singer with range, and a very cool guy with a "live and let party" attitude. Dave, on the other hand, thinks the world owes him worship... no thanks.

Hagar is gone. He's not coming back. Van Halen is selling out and making twice as much money without him. They no longer sing his songs or reference any of his albums at the official site. Sammy was a hired hand who inherited fame from Roth and got a big head and has been dealt with.

Van Hagar only grossed 700,000 a night and played to 73% capacity and tickets prices were slashed to sell seats.
Dave also sold twice as many records (40 million to 20) than Sammy according to riaa dot com.
There is no doubt that David Lee Roth is twice as popular and better than Hagar and Hagar will always live in Roth's shadow.
