Whoever these actors are, they are DEAD ON as the Quarrymen. Well done, young people, and thanks for caring enough to get it right. ---------------- A Beatles fan from 1961
@rocknrollkatie Yes, it happened in July of 1957. Maybe not word-for-word, but it was at a Church social in Woolton where all kinds of acts were hired for the day. They usually had good turnouts, as something was there for all ages, and The Quarrymen were hired by the Vicar for the teenagers, and the rest, as they say, is history. This IS where and when, by all accounts I've heard and read, where John and Paul first met.
1. when Paul played 20 flight rock to john he used a Right-handed guitar upside down
2. john didnt played magie may on his first gig.
3.His aunt mimi was strict but not like this
4.Julia didnt teached john to play banjo, she teached him to play Ukelele.
5.When george played Raunchy to john He didnt used johns guitar, he used a guitar of his own. -They didnt show when they meet ringo- - Still is a great movie and I will buy it -
@jjadiel2011 Yes I am your English teacher lol. But I was just having a laugh. I think you should point the good things out rather than the mistakes. Happy Flighting :D
@jjadiel2011 That is a right handed guitar turned upside down. Notice the pick guard is up top. And Julia taught him the banjo. That's pretty well documented.
@jjadiel2011 well done you.a true Beatles fan like me. now imagine a monty python style skit where paul plays trumpet for john instead of the guitar which he traded his dad's gift for. ;)
If I were to have a time machine and chance to go back to 3 different times in history, the day Lennon and McCartney met would be one of them.
With Beatles in mind, I've posted the video, "40 years in 3 minutes", which is a music video containing the Beatles' rooftop performance, historical events over the last 40 years and 8mm film antics from the period, all cut tightly to GET BACK and GLASS ONION. Hope you enjoy!
this movie is historically inaccurate john didnt know how to play the guitar that well george said he only played with for strings when the first started playing together
@jmead19 Yeah, John's guitar was missing strings when George met him. And Paul has said that he had to teach John chords because John only knew the ukulele chords which he learned from his mother. Also, there's never been any indication that John was an asshole to Paul, or that they were anything less than equals when they met (Paul is the very definition of an extrovert, I can't imagine him ever being shy).
But, it's just a movie, and it's meant to be entertaining.

How cool is this meeting between two legendary talents?
Lennon- "tick tock, gotta go rest for our evening show" blowing off Paul.
Paul- tosses off the perfect audition like it's nothing, then cool enough to handle John being an asshole.
What's the odds this ever happens again?????

And I'm imagining John being this much of a dick, but not McCartney being that skinny...
