As Black, I would have preferred to capture the bishop on move 8 with the pawn, then after 9. d5 Ne7. Yes, white does have the space advantage, but black is caught up in development, and has the extra, albeit doubled, pawn. If 10. d6 (securing a protected passed central pawn), then 10... Nec6 attacks the e5 pawn, and can reinforce that by Nd7 and fianchettoing the kingside bishop. A nice imbalanced position, with both sides having respective advantages and disadvantages.
