  • Kobe doesn't play defense like this no more.

  • you don't deserve all defensive first team for playing defense on a given possession. his overrated ass has been getting it over wade for years who is 100 times better defender than kobe has EVER BEEN or EVER WILL BE. kobes fucking one possession bullshit is for mindless fucks like you that just like to watch highlight reels. there's a reason his team has artest.

  • @jonnieos "RAWR I AM WADE'S PROTECTOR! I AM SO ANGRY!!!" This is what you sound like.

  • @jonnieos its funny how everybody talks about how kobe didint deserve all nba defensive team this year but mj from 1996-1998 didnt deserve it yet nobody talks about it why? they hate KOBE BEAN BRYANT

thumbs up so all the mj stupid dic-riders can see this

  • 4:28 made me lol so hard

  • kobe's defensive is so overrated!

  • I Love the game of BasketBall and MY personal favorite(and specialty) is defense coz of the physicality and adrenaline it gives. I prefer defense over offense. Lockdown physical defense.

  • I miss watching Mamba Play !!!!

  • as good as he was or use to be, Tony allen deserved the first team this year.

  • @tee23en true

  • Wow... this is legit defense. I don't know why the league doesn't promote this stuff. You can see that fire in him just by his D alone.

  • The song isn't kardinal Offishall. it's 50 Cent - Get Up!

  • The most overrated defense ever 11 All D teams Jordan 9

  • @murdaville100 Are you saying Jordan is the most overrated defender ever? If you are, I agree.

  • Kobe is no where near MJ's level, not even LeBron.

  • @Pandeezys2iLL lebron is not a good defender. he's just bigger and faster than the guys he defends

  • @ojama96

the problem is nobody set a pick for lebron. wheres the help offensive. same for d wade play

  • @dcomputers lol! they are called isolation plays for a reason. the team trusts their ace to do the job in a 1 on 1 situation, be it offensive or defensive.

  • @TrafalgarLaw4017

yea but if your down and theres trouble getting down the court with the ball they should re call a new play help defense or call a pick to free up the play instead of getting double teamed in the corner (lebron play).

  • Just watch how good Kobe is at pinning down the person's arm like at 4:35; it's hard to say that it's a foul but it makes you super uncomfortable especially when he's pinning the right hand down on a right handed player.

  • jeff van gundy said it best one of the best ONE POSESSION DEFEDERS in the game ill give kobe credit for that

  • if Kobe was defending me, I would just give him the ball and ask him to do a 360 dunk on me.

  • @freesuraj and i would take my camera out! jejeej

  • @freesuraj

    HAHAHAH AWESOME !!

  • @freesuraj THE BEST MAN! HAHAHAHAHA. :))))

  • If this was sold in a dvd, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

  • The great thing about Kobe is that, you have no idea from just watching highlights what he is doing. He has great footwork yes. But he's great at the mental aspect. He understands the timing and positioning required for a player to maintain their dribble. He disrupts that by getting them out of position and getting his body right where the offensive player wants to go. It's no small feat to play 94 feet of defense and lockdown Dwayne Wade who has pretty good handles.

  • overrated defender.

  • this vid proves why kobe is the best only players that has top ten highlights in DEFENSE and OFFENSE......

  • Kobe's so good, they slow-mo him when he's on defense.

  • @sTRAydOg808 they dont slow-mo him ,he slow-mos us

  • @Kobe81Lakers Hey man!can you tell me the name of the beat you used in the video?thanks!

  • pg: sasha vujacic

    sg: kobe bryant

    sf: lamar odom

    pf: chris mihm

    c: kwame brown

this team went to the playoffs

  • The truth shall set you free! tell it like it is brother kobe= greatest player alive hate it or love it thats the truth

  • This video just motivated me to play my hardest defense ever today, when I go play ball at the park.

  • ON MY CHANNEL SITE THE REAL AND UNTOLD STORY OF JORDAN! A MUST SEE!!!!

  • ON MY CHANNEL SITE THE TREUTH ABUT JORDAN THAT'S UNTOLD! A MUST SEE!!!

  • I love how dwight Howard didn't even retalliate after kobe steel the ball cuz he knows he could kick his ass lol

  • @Honestyandyourself

Kobe kicking dwight's ass? LOL you're a pretty funny man

  • @Hawkhunter07 no I menat Dwight kicking kobe's ass u idiot

  • @Honestyandyourself

listen to how dumb you sound and look at what you typed please, no one can read your mind, don't be a dumb kobe fan and use some logic please

  • @Hawkhunter07 don't be stupid jordan fan lol, why the fuck rn't u ona jordan video riding his dick? get the fuck otta here...please :) 24>23

  • meant*

  • @Hawkhunter07 fuckin' jordan fan lol

  • get up by 50 cent

  • @rocsuperbadmmg awesome thx

  • if you look closely, lebron traveled...he should work as a travel agent during nba lockout XD

  • @jrisidto89 He already works on this position. As we all know he always has free time for his second job during the 4th quarter of the game... xD

  • whats the track??

  • Go to MJ's defense at 34 years old.MJ's defense at 34 was better than Kobe's at 32.Like I said Kobe didn't deserve to make 1st Team All-Defense this year.Kobe conserves all his energy for the offensive end.He ain't the defender he once was and you would know that if you knew anything about basketball(which I can see)MJ's the greatest hands down,I can't argue with someone that doesn't know what he is talking about.MJ's the better defender, but you wouldn't know that cause you don't know ball.

  • @arthurfrancis82 ALL TALK AND SHOWING NOTHING! HYPE WON'T WORK NO MORE! IF YOU CAN'T SHOW THE KIND OF DEFENCE FROM JORDAN I MENTION A COUPLE OF POST BELOW, YOU NEED TO JUST SHUT UP AND TAKE IT LIKE A MAN! STOP THE EMBARRASMENT BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW AND HAVE OVER 1100 GAMES TO PICK FROM! PERIOD!

  • @arthurfrancis82 34 and 32 is not a big difference. Lmao

  • This is totally being added to favorites

  • Haha nice pic at 4:30

  • When Kobe won the MVP, he should have been a lot more considered to take home the Defensive player of the year award, I mean, I see the highlights, there was enough great plays there for a top 10 not to mention playing perfect one on one and team defense.

  • @LiqCharles no way Dwight howard led the league in both offensive rebounds and defensive rebounds and avg about 14 rebounds a game to go along with 3 blocks a game that led the NBA. Kobe wasn't in the top 10 for steals nor was he one of the top rebounding guards. Due to dwight howard's defense he contributed 7.6 more win shares than kobe had with his 4.0 defensive win shares. So the Magic won more games with Howard's defense than Kobe's lakers did with his.

  • @Netburner23 KOBE IS A MUCH BETTER LOCKDOWN DEFENDER THAN JORDAN! OUT OF OVER 1100 GAMES PLAYED BY JORDAN ,YOU CAN'T FIND ONE LIKE KOBE 'S LOCKDOWN ON AI OR KOBE'S 38 POINT'S VS T MAC IN THE 4TH QTR TAKEOVER GAME! WHEN YOU DO THEN POST SOMETHING OTHER THAN HYPE! LET'S (((SEE))) THAT GREAT DEFENCE FROM JORDAN LIKE I SHOWED FROM KOBE! INSTEAD OF REPLYING WITH MORE WORDS OF HYPE FROM A TIME GONE BYE! JORDAN IS SECOND RATE ON DEFENCE AND WE DON'T EVEN WANT TO TALK OFFENCE! PERIOD!

  • @tiger1649 if he is much better than jordan why doesnt he go and win defensive player of the year award then? Jordan led the league in scoring AND steals 3.2 a game. I dont know what you mean about hype its a known fact that MJ was one of the best defensive guards in the league. Idk what defense of kobe's have you shown me? Offensively jordan was far superior 10 scoring titles and 7 in a row are you kidding me? averaging more than 30 a game even in the playoffs with above 50 percent shooting

  • @Netburner23 I KNEW YOU HAD NOTHING TO SHOW! AND AWARDS ARE GIVEN NOT ALWAYS EARNED! AND THE POST I SHOWED BELOW SHOW'S HOW A DPOY SHOULD PLAY DEFENCE! DAVID STEARN SAID MVP'AND AWARDS ARE JUST A BUNCH OF MEDIA GUY'S! AND 10 SCORING TITLES PLAYING AGAINST GAURDS WHO CAN'T AVG OVER 26 POINT'S IN A ENTIRE DECADE OF THE 90'S,AND ONLY ONE PLAYER COULD AVG 30 (ONCE) IN A ENTIRE 90'S! YOU MUST BE KIDDING ME! JORDAN PLAYED IN THE WORST ERA IN MODERN NBA HISTORY! MY CHANNEL SITE TELL'S THE REAL STORY! .

  • @tiger1649 is this like a joke? There is no way you can be that ignorant about the game of basketball and doubting the best player in the history of the NBA. The DPOY is voted by the NBA head coaches if you knew anything about basketball so he did earn that award and the hand checking rule came into affect this era and wasn't present in the 70's 80's nor 90's hand checking tones down the physicality and makes it easier to score.

  • @tiger1649 you honestly can't be that ignorant about the game of basketball. You do realize that the NBA game is so soft now one touch and its a foul. Back in the 70's 80's and 90's the hand checking rule is non existent and it was much harder to score in those decades than it is today. The fact that jordan was able to overcome that and average 30 ppg and have the highest ppg average in NBA history says a lot. For you're information DPOY is voted by the coaches of the nba not media or fans.

  • @tiger1649 that era that micheal played in included: The detroit pistons, larry bird and the celtics, magic johnson and kareem abdul jabbar. hakeem olajuwon, charles barkley, Patrick ewing and the tough defensive knicks also the talented orlando magic clyde drexler and the trailblazers.

  • @Netburner23 AGAIN! TALKING LOUD AND SHOWING ((NOTHING))! SHOW UP OR SHUT UP! AND STOP THE EXCUSE'S! ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS SHOW SOMETHING (PLEASE!) OUT OF OVER 1100 GAMES IT SHOULD BE EASY IF JORDAN IS WHAT YOU SAY HE IS ON DEFENSE COMPARED TO KOBE! PERIOD!

  • @tiger1649 i did post a video on you're wall and you keep deleting it

  • didn't you know that DPOY is voted by the coaches and not by fans or the media. You can't be this dumb or clueless about basketball. Have you watched tape on basketball between those two era's at all? It was way more physical back then than it is now. Do you know nothing of the hand checking rule that it is in the NBA now? Hand checking was allowed in the 70's 80's and 90's which made scoring very difficult and the fact that jordan was able to keep that up 7 straight times out of 10 is a feat.

  • @Netburner23 JUST QUOTING THE COMMISSIONER OF THE NBA! DAVID STEARN! I THOUGH HE WOULD KNOW! ANYWAY! YOU SAW LITTLE HAND CHECKING IN THE JORDAN ERA, MOST OF THE GAMES I SAW JORDAN WASN'T HAND CHECKED, BUT I ALSO SAW JORDAN USE HIS OFF HAND TO KNOCK THE HAND AWAY WHEN THEY DID HANDCHECK! WHAT ABOUT THAT? THEY OFF SET EACH OTHER! I HAVE SEEN MANY VIDS WITH JORDAN DOING THAT EVEN WHEN HE WASN'T HAND CHECKED! EVEN WITH HAND CHECKING TEAMS SCORED MORE BACK THEN THAN NOW! IT MEANT NOTHING! PERIOD!

  • @tiger1649 Kobe's is a great defender, but there's no way he's a better defender than MJ.MJ's probably the best perimeter defender all-time.Kobe can play great defense(when he wants to)but he shouldn't have made 1st team All-Defense this year. All this coming from a BIG KOBE FAN.

  • @arthurfrancis82 JORDAN WAS A GOOD DEFENDER NOT GREAT! RODMAN & ARTEST & KOBE ((WERE)) GREAT DEFENDERS IN THIER PRIME! AWARDS ARE GIVEN AND NOT ALWAYS EARNED! WATCH KOBE ON UTUBE VS IVERSON IN THE LOCKDOWN GAME, AND KOBE 38 PT'S VS T MAC IN THE 4TH QTR TAKEOVER GAME! YOU WON'T FIND JORDAN NOWHERE PLAYING DEFENCE LIKE THIS IN OVER 1100 GAMES PLAYED! OR NOBODY ELSE! AND (((HE CHECKED THEM EVERY PLAY)))! AS A KOBE FAN YOU NEED TO SEE HIS ARCHIVE'S ON BOTH ENDS, THEY MAKE MJ'S LOOK LIKE CHILDS PLAY!

  • @tiger1649 Kobe could lock you up on 1 or 2 possessions of the game.MJ locked you up the entire game.Kobe's a great player(my favorite player)but he's no where near MJ(close)he will end up 2nd greatest player ever when it's all said and done. You have to have RESPECT for the game, cause you really don't know what you are talking about.By the way he scored 24 in the 4th against T-Mac and the Magic.Know what you are talkin about.

  • @arthurfrancis82 KOBE SHUT AI DOWN FOR A WHOLE HALF AND T MAC A WHOLE QTR! DID YOU SEE THE VIDS? (((YOU CAN'T SHOW ME JORDAN DOING NOTHING))) AT ALL! ESPECIALLY PLAYING DEFENCE LIKE KOBE! I'M TALKING ABOUT DEFENCE ON T MAC, NOT OFFENSE! THAT'S NO COMPARISON TO KOBE! PERIOD!

  • @tiger1649 Go check out In Jordan's Defense,or Best Defender In The Game,or Jordan Defends Isiah Thomas. You obivously don't know shit about basketball. You call 2 minutes of a video a whole half, when you can't even spell DEFENSE.(DEFENCE)Seriously,go check out Jordan's defense and you'll change your mind.In Jordan's DEFENSE or should I say In Jordan's DEFENCE.You must be a kid.

  • @arthurfrancis82 YOU ARE THE ONE SHOWING ONE OR TWO PLAY'S! LOOK! SHOW ME SOME DEFENCE LIKE I SHOWED YOU ONE ON ONE FOR AT LEAST A QUARTER CHECKING THE SAME PERSON! IF YOU CAN'T (((DON'T EVER))) MENTION JORDAN'S DEFENCE TO ME VS KOBE! YOU ARE WAY OUT CLASSED HERE BUT YOU MUST BE NEW, OR YOU WOULDN'T EVEN POST ME! I GAVE YOU SOME PLAY! NOW GO PLAY WITH THE KIDS! PERIOD!

  • @tiger1649 That comment's to you.I'll teach you the game of basketball, because you seem to be lost.

  • kobe is a great defender beacause he is not scared to play defense on good players

Lebron fears getting beat and embarrased

A good defender is made by not being afraid of the player your guarding

  • kobe stumbled 4 to 5 seconds in the video terry just did way to much dribbling. If you love kobes defense check him out against arenas

  • @TheQmartin Where's Gilbert Arenas now? He's washed up,while Kobe still destroying niggas in the league.

  • @arthurfrancis82 ok you showing me a defensive possession from a game. all that means is kobe can show up for one possession a game. you all of them together you got a highlight reel and you can label it kobe is a great defender now dont get me wrong i like kobe but his defense is good not great. and to answer your question gilbert's in orlando im not a fan but when he was agent zero kobe got da business twice and he wanted no parts of gilbert now youtube that

  • @TheQmartin I would also think Gilbert doesn't want no part of Kobe. All I got to say we both know who's the better player.By the way I never seen Gilbert show up for any defensive possession(maybe gun)but not defensive possession. What you another one of those Kobe HATERS?

  • @arthurfrancis82 kobe hater no i love kobe um just not one those kobe dick riders i dont like gilbert but kobe has great defensive moments in a game people put them all together and call him a great defender thats my problem well gilbert abused kobe for a whole game and kobe did not jump to guard him in the second game that season I dont call that mentality great. oh and that was a good one a gun for defensive possession lol and its not loaded lol

  • @TheQmartin Lol gilbert arenas

  • i am addicted to this music for some reason

  • great video

  • whats the song in this video???

  • Under every video about Kobe I see: Ball Hog, Couldn't do it without Shaq, Gasol, Odom, Bynum (and all other great teammates that ever played the game, lol). But somehow it's not enough for LeBron to have D. Wade (ring), Chris Bosh, Mike Bibby, Eddie House (ring), Mike Miller, Mario Chalmers, Udonis Haslem (ring) and other excellent players.

    P. S. I can repeat this every day, Kobe is the Best player of this era, and you cannot accidently become a 5 time champion! xD

  • @noopz0r ok i was with u til u said mike bibby past his prime and a defensive liability, eddie house about 5'10 a 3pt specialist also a defensive liability, mike miller injury prone and inconsistant, mario chalmers young and inconsistant, udonis haslem injured the whole year and is straight up a role player. People u fail to realize this team was just assembled kobe been with his team now if we having this same conversation in 2-3 years then you win but right now just shut up

  • @TheQmartin Derek Fisher is past his prime, however he is an essential piece to Lakers' championships, what you just said is words filled with stupidity and disrespect to great all-around players. Eddie House was playing well in Boston, Haslem's situation reminds me of Bynum last year, don't you think? Mario chalmers is a good role player, still: Wade, Bosh, James! I mean, isn't that enough! And BTW, Kobe has been injured for the last years and still played his best... Stop acting like a fool...

  • @noopz0r Are you really serious eddie house yeah he was playing great in boston. In boston he had kg and Perkins clogging up the middle and derek is past his prime but right now if kobe is not taking the last shot who would you want to take it with all the confidence in the world and just as clutch as kobe ok but um acting like a fool bottom line Lakers have chemistry and experince together the heat only have a year together so stop acting like a fool

  • @noopz0r Kobe couldnt do it without shaq or gasol he did win rings with them and kobe and Lamar were on those teams who didnt have a gasol or shaq n they were barely in playoff contention. they gave up that 3-1 lead over phoenix. No doubt lebron should of won a ring with the heat but they're supporting cast was terrible from bosh all the way down.

  • @Netburner23 Shaq couldn't do it without Kobe or D-Wade.They all needed each other, players don't win rings alone.

  • @Netburner23 LeBron wouldn't win with those players, stop saying that he would, he cannot be compared to Bryant, MJ, Wade etc. He is a secondary option, Heat is Wade's team, LeBron James is a typical example of stars of the modern TV era: star that can only FAIL, he's Christiano Ronaldo of NBA, has skill, true, but not a born champion or leader...

    P. S. These talks about "what if"... STOP IT, He has 3 all-stars, bunch of champs and he still FAILS!

  • @noopz0r two words, Robert Horry

  • @grapefollowher Brilliant, So you say Robert accidently made all the important shots... If Only LeBron would ever score such important points in his life.

    P. S. Stupid, too popular and not original comment you just posted...

  • @noopz0r no but you can just so happen to be on the right team, basketball is a TEAM sport, kobe may be a 5 time champion but he didnt do it alone. he had a entire team BUILT around his game, just like Jordan

so if u sayn 5 rings makes kobe the best of this era ? then so is Fisher. Horry has seven, on 3 different teams. who else has done that? come with facts and save yur two cents, dont wana leave u broke

    P.S lmfao

  • @grapefollowher Again, did you even read the comment? My point is, no matter what the roster is or was, Horry made, let's just say, close to the most important shots and dunks when the team needed him to do so... Maybe, if not for him and the refs, Lakers would never top Kings.

Kobe is the "engine" of modern Lakers, just like MJ was in Bulls. MJ - best of his era, Kobe best of our era. Don't make yourself look stupid... Oh wait, you just did...

  • @noopz0r nope robert horry is, rings dont lie. he proved in in 3 cities why hes the best, Kobe would be like a fish out of water if he left LA and Phil's tit. like i said, come with FACTS. can you read?

  • @grapefollowher According to you MJ would never win either, just think about what you wrote.

  • @noopz0r too bad he coudnt win with the karl malone and gary payton and shaq!ay jus sayin, these are hall of fame players playing with the so called "best player of this era" and still cudnt beat the pistons

  • @uknwwtitis Yeah right, he couldn't do it then, he lost to the Celtics, which I think is more about him losing the series, as you all like to say that old LA was Shaq's team, and this year he got swept by Mavs. You can't win every time, no one can.

What is the point of your post? If it's just a description of the event than fine... xD

Still, LeBron hasn't won once and even if he does, this achievement will always be more of D. Wade...

  • @noopz0r hahaha i was jus sayin...so hus team was it then back in the three peat???kobe has been surrounded by great players his whole career.n y u bringing up lebron again, u knw he has accomplished so much besides winning a title which is a TEAM SPORT.

  • @uknwwtitis The only thing that he accomplished is fake support by the media, he's like Christiano Ronaldo in football, he's great no doubt, but he's no Zidane or Ronaldo from Brasil, or Messi. LeBron may be a player of great talent, but he is not of the same level as MJ, Iverson, Wade, Bryant, Dirk and the list can go on and on...

He's the result of modern tendency of creating idols everywhere!

  • @noopz0r hahaha!u dnt knw nothin about how the media treats lebron...so being a two-time mvp, rookie of the year, first team and defensive selections isnt accomplishing anything???espn bashing on lebron cus he played bad in finals is fake support???btw, it was lebron who carried the heat against chicago while dwade was playing terrible, but you dnt see espn covering that huh?

  • @uknwwtitis Carrying against Chicago? Maaaaan, you are terrible...

End of discussion... You know it's not about who's better anymore, you can't compare any effort of LeBron to what Iverson did, or Kobe does. LeBron is a quitter, he always quits, he's the result of the media praising, that's it! Watch the game, try to understand, play with your friends or something. When you already won, it's easy to put up any kind of "effort", but when you are losing it takes some balls! He doesn't have 'em!

  • @noopz0r so hu do think carried miami to the finals?media praising?maaaan, you are terrible.since when is the media praising lebron nowadays?jus like espn, ur bashing on lebron bcuz he played terrible in the finals.u ddnt see coverage of how kobe had the worst fg % of any player in the finals while his teammates had to clean up after him did ya?i dnt think so, bcuz kobe is the result of media praising!i understand the fact that a player does need the balls when his team his losing,

  • @noopz0r but u cant keep downing lebron jus cus he played bad in one finals becus basketball is a team sport

  • @noopz0r The fuck did I just read??? You excused him from having great teammates, sure, but then you said said he is the best of this era due to 5 championships.

I can name plenty of shit players with 5 rings, and several mediocre players with more. If you actually think he is the best give it some thought and tell me why, what seperates him from every other player. In my opinion its Lebron, not in terms of greatness (which is measured by acheivement) he doesn't have that yet, but by skill.

  • @PeruvianCactus He is the best of his era because, MJ himself said so, he scored 12 3-pointers in a single game, 82 points against Toronto (which was also an effort to win), he was a scoring champion, multiple all-around player of the NBA, 4-time MVP of the All-Star game, MVP (which he should've been at least twice), 5 time champ, leader of on of the greatest teams in sports for decade etc.

LeBron, got swept by Timmy, MVP, no titles, left team, lost to the Mavs... And Mr. Travel of the year! xD

  • @noopz0r Cool acheivements, but how does that seperate him from the rest of the pack. He is on the Lakers, one of the best coached and proffessionally handled and trained franchises in all of sports history. He brings the lakers offensive efficiency down in the clutch, Game 7 2010 jacked up sooo many missed shots.

You wanna know the greatest of this era, Tim Duncan. Micheal Jordan is goat because he didn't need a star center to create a Dynasty, obviously not the case with Kobe, stop chasing 23

  • @PeruvianCactus Didn't he rebound and play great defense? The Lakers always had great big men it's their tradition.I can respect the Tim Duncan point because he is probably the best PF to ever play, but Kobe will end up 2nd greatest ever when his career is over.

  • @PeruvianCactus I can agree with you on Duncan, but just think... we are talking about the whole decade, not just 2-3 years. Just forget about all the achievements, I'm talking about entertainment, Kobe has done a lot in this field. He dunked on every single big man, he blocked them all, his behind the back dunk is one of the most beautiful things I've seen. The only reason I'm talking about LeBron is because he is in this discussion all the time.

    P. S. MJ+Pippen+Rodman+great team...

  • @noopz0r Obviously you can't but he is the luckiest. You Think he would of had 5 ring in Charlotte? or with the Hornets/Bobcats? You can't give Kobe full credit as a champion. For his first 3. Because where would those Laker teams be without Derek Fishers .4 buzzer beater. Countless Robert Horry clutch shots and the most dominant center in the history of the NBA Shaq? Kobe ran him out of town and of another potential championship in 04

  • @Freshustle Yeah, really, so let me sum up, you have to be the luckiest to develop from 13th pick on the draft to become a player who is thought to be the greatest ever by many people, not all but many... Well, it definately takes some luck... About Shaq, he has less championships without Kobe than otherwise. Fisher is always good at buzzer that's a given so is Horry. I never gave Kobe full credit for anything, he is a player of the greatest team in sports of course he has help!

  • @Freshustle But this whole thing abut luck? Come on man, take Formula 1, Michael Schumacher, football, Maradona, Pele, Zidane, tennis, Federer, Sampras, man, you can't be greatest without luck, if you say otherwise you are dumb. But if you take Kobe, it's a mix of team and personal achievements, you can't argue with that, I don't even have enough space to list all of them in 10 posts, so you do the math...

  • @Freshustle Without Kobe the Lakers wouldn't have 5 CHAMPIONSHIPS.Kobe ran Shaq out of town and won 2 more CHAMPIONSHIPS while Shaq won 1.Shaq and Kobe needed each other, just like every other great, but you HATERS just have to HATE.Come on Derek and Robert wouldn't have got Shaq a RING.

  • @arthurfrancis82 Its more like "Without the Lakers Kobe wouldn't have 5 Championships." Yea Kobe won one more championship than Shaq, but after how many years? and after they acquired a 7 foot skilled big man named Pau Gasol. Shaq didn't need Kobe, Shaq and the Lakers could of done the exact same with someone else. But the Lakers w/o Shaq is a different story. and actually D-Fish and Robert Horry actually help win games with clutch shots, remember those? KB air balled 4 times in a game vs Utah.

  • @Freshustle You could keep HATING all you want.It still doesn't take away that he's won 5 rings and one of the best to ever play.

  • @arthurfrancis82 I swear no one can argue now a days with some one because they're a hater. Bro you haven't supported a reason as to why he is the best player of this era. When i USUALLY see Kobe under preform compared to what he's made out to be, by ESPN and the media

  • @Freshustle I don't need to ''support a reason'' proof is there. It's obivious you don't know shit about basketball if I have to ''support a reason''theres no need to argue. The only proof I need is Kobe Bryant.

  • @arthurfrancis82 Kobe is your proof? WTF does that even mean? Trust me guy i know A LOT about basketball. I defiantly know more than what ever ESPN tells you, with there subjective ass stats, and stories they have. They're quick to point out that Kobe has 9 NBA-All defense awards, but not understanding, that Dwyane Wade has been the best defensive guard, along with CP3 and Rondo for the past 3 or 4 years, yet Kobe has gotten the nod. You sir don't know Basketball

  • @Freshustle

Dwayne Wade is not a great defender he's alright just because you get blocks and steals doesn't make you good at defense. Michael Cooper and Bruce Bowen are considered some of the greatest defenders and they didn't even average 1 steal a game.

  • @Freshustle

okay you expect Kobe to win championships with kwame brown luke walton and smush parker?!? and kobe airballed his rookie year at 18 years old. at 18 im probably going to be at PCC but Kobe was in the Nba. And shaq said no one else wanted to take those shots.

  • @sde12345 I expect him to make the playoffs.

  • @Herv3

    wow he did idiot

  • @Herv3 2004-2005 No Shaq and no Phil, Kobe leads the Lakers to the lottery.

  • @Herv3 You realize Kobe and Lamar(the Lakers best two players) missed 40 games that year. When Kobe was healthy, the Lakers were in playoff contention.

  • @TheFreeMentality Kobe started 66 games out of 82 and Lamar Odom started 64. Do the math! That's 16 games missed. Hardly an excuse to be a lottery team. Got any other bad excuses for Kobe? How about this time you ground them in reality?

  • @Herv3 Well first of all the Lakers were not a lottery team, they won 34 games. A lottery team is a team that wins 15-20 games or less. Second, the amount of games they played doesn't change the fact that they both missed a combined 40 games that season. When the top 2 players on a team miss that many games chances are the team won't make the playoffs. Plus when Kobe was healthy the Lakers were in playoff contention, I believe they were 19-15 or something like that.

  • @Herv3 lol the reality is that basketball is a team sport, you cant blame one player for a teams failures or success...jordan had a 30 win season does that make him a bad player?

  • @kobeballer Yes, but basketball is the only sport where any single player can have the biggest impact on his team. As far as comparing Kobe leading his team to the lottery versus Jordan's 30 win teams. It's apples and oranges. That was Jordan when he just came into the league. Kobe was in his prime when he lead his team to the lottery.

  • kobe fucking sucks

  • @jasondubon u shuld be banned form youtube nd life

  • @mrswagistremendous kobe should get banned from the nba for life

  • @jasondubon lmao then you woke the fuck up back to reality

  • Look how Kobe locked up Bron and Wade on this video. You don't see other players try to do this to these 2 players.Kobe's the most competitive player in the league. He still has a few years left before his body gives into age. He's the most drivin, most prepared athlete we have in sports. Why do HATERS hate on him? He's the closest thing to MJ any one of us has EVER seen.Just enjoy him while he's still here and quit hating if you can't do what he does on a basketball court.

  • Wade averaged 6.8 assists with 5.2 turnovers per game. Kobe's assist count wasn't better, but his turnover count wasn't at 5+. The trio of Allen, Pierce, and Rondo (the players primarily guarded by Wade/Kobe in their respective series) averaged 57 PPG on 46.7% shooting and 7.4 Turnovers Per Game between them against the Heat. That same trio averaged 46.14 PPG on 42.1 % Shooting and an average of 7 turnovers per game between them against the Lakers. Kobe's D in the Finals was exceptional.

  • LEBRON PLAYS MUCH BETTER DEFENSE! THUMBS UP IF U AGREE.

  • The No.8 Kobe really put the clamps on niggas.Kobe's a great defender he just doesn't put the same effort as he used to.He needs to save his energy for the offensive end,but when he needs to lock you up,he can do it with the best of them. He's made 8 All-Defensive Teams. How thats not a good defender?

  • defense is making sure the other team doesn't score its not about blocking shots and getting steals

  • NO GAURD IN NBA HISTORY PLAYED LOCKDOWN DEFENSE LIKE THIS! AND ON THE KOBE 38 POINT'S VS T MAC IN THE 4TH QTR TAKEOVER, IT'S JUST AS GOOD! AND ON OFFENSE IT'S NO QUESTION KOBE 'S GREATEST GAMES MAKES EVERYBODY ELSE'S LOOK SMALL! ON MY CHANNEL SITE IS INFO YOU PROBABLY NEVER HEARD BEFORE!

  • NO GAURD IN HISTORY HAVE PLAYED LOCKDOWN DEFENSE LIKE KOBE! JORDAN COULDN'T PLAY DEFENSE LIKE KOBE IN THE LOCKDOWN GAMES VS AI AND T MAC WHO WERE GREAT SCORER'S! VIDS DON'T LIE, DPOY DO! PLUS ON MY CHANNEL SITE THE REAL AND UNTOLD STORY OF JORDAN! A MUST SEE!

  • Kobe really is a great Defense player shot blocks, passing lanes, help defense and one on one defense.

  • @FVOLDGYMDefensiveMVP no defensive player of the year award

  • He's a great defender when he wants to be,otherwise he wouldn't have made 8 ALL-DEFENSIVE TEAMS.One of the best offensive weapons this league's ever seen.

  • @arthurfrancis82 he didn't deserve it this season.

  • Kobes defense is overrated

  • @xingli123 its not overrated. nowadays, the media overrates blocking a shot into the third row. when people say defense, most people think of dwight howard first. no one even looks at perimeter defense nowadays.

thats where kobe is. these defensive highlights deserve studying and how he cleverly puts his body on the right side of players so they cant drive strong side.

  • @jlqt5 The media also overrates Kobe's ability to defend. They just blindly puts him in the All defensive first team when clearly wade has been the better defender over the last two season if not more. Dwight Howard is the best defensive center because when players play against him they have to think twice if they want to score in the paint. He has the leaping and timing ability to send shots away.

  • @xingli123 take no aggression in this comment.

but did you read my post? this is exactly what im talking about. the media has overrated blocking shots, and it clearly has run onto you. good defense is stopping your matchup from playmaking and scoring, not just blocking shots into the third row.

overrated? did you not see what he did? it doesnt matter if kobe hasn't blocked any shots in his career. as long as he did a good job in STOPPING scoring, he's a good defender.

    think about it.

  • @jlqt5 So are you arguing with me that Dwight is an overrated defender and Kobe Bryant isn't?

  • @xingli123 if you opened your mind and read my posts clearly, then you would know what my point is. my point is dwight IS thought to be better simply for the fact that he can block shots. seriously, you always bring up wade and dwight. dwight isn't a great on-ball defender. seriously, watch his games, the FULL games, then you will understand.

sure wade can block and get the occasional steal. but he is not a great perimeter defender. face it. if your whole bball world is stats, i feel sorry 4 u.

  • @jlqt5 First of all, Dwight is NOT A PERIMETER DEFENDER, once again NOT A PERIMETER DEFENDER. So why are you comparing Kobe and Howard? Howard is a center who plays great post defense and protects the rim, NOT SOMEONE WHO PLAYS IN THE PERIMETER AGAINST GUARDS. So why in god's last name does Howard has to be good at perimeter defense when he is a center?

Wade is a sloppy defender sometimes and does not play defense whole heartedly but look at what he did to your boy Kobe when they match up.

  • @xingli123 my last post did not say he's a perimeter defender, i said hes NOT A GREAT ON-BALL DEFENDER. he's merely a help defender. give anyone sufficient post moves and he will be schooled because of the lack of his footwork as a defender.

my comparison is how well kobe stops scoring on people on the other team. look at what kobe did against wade the other time. and kobe/wade matchups actually don't count because they BOTH don't try as hard because they save for offense.

  • @jlqt5 Okay. On a scale from 1-10 how confused are you based off of your last comment. "NOT A GREAT ON-BALL DEFENDER" seriously? You can put Howard one on one with anyone and I'll not even going to have to worry about that match up for the night because he is that good of a defender. He won 3 straight DPOY for a reason. "Give anyone sufficient post moves and he will be schooled" I think you can make the case for anyone. Give anyone with AI's ball handle skill and Kobe will get exposed.

  • @xingli123 give me a break. he won it because he was athletic as a great help defender. seriously, dwight cant stop fades and hooks and whatever. but now we're arguing about howard being a good defender or not, im not up for that because he is a good defender, just not a great on-ball defender.

you said kobe's defense is overrated. defense = stopping opposition from scoring. kobe stops opposition from scoring. therefore he is a great defender. how hard is it, sherlock?

  • @jlqt5 Face the reality the kid. "dwight cant stop fades and hooks and whatever"? Nobody can stop and block fades and hooks every single time. Also, don't expect him to block every single shots that is being throw up. He isn't a great on-ball defender? For the love of god, and for the last time, you can put him one on one with any player in the league and you can expect him to stop them.

The fact is simple. Kobe does not stop his man. Highlights and actual the game is different.

  • @xingli123 The same media that has managed to give the best player in the game only 1 MVP in 15 seasons when he deserved it at least 5 times? Please. The "media brainwash" argument for Kobe is pathetic. Any amount of love toward Kobe from media members is equaled by hatred from other media members, if not surpassed.

  • @MrTrojanRam (1) Are you saying he deserves more than what he already doesn't deserve? First and foremost, the All-Teams. Over the last two years, Wade has been clearly the better defensive and overall player than Kobe. But what has the media and idiot coaches did? They put Kobe on the All Defensive First Team for the last two years and put Wade on the All Defensive 2nd team? That turned into a pathetic joke. Then in 08-09 Wade was clearly the best player that year.

  • @MrTrojanRam (2) Then what happened? The league has to put Wade on PG just so that they can also reserve a spot for Kobe on the All First Team. Again this year, Wade is clearly the better player but he is being placed in the 2nd all team? From now on, the All-Team is an annual joke from the NBA to me. So you are talking about the NBA not showing any love to Kobe? That is the best time I heard that joke. But can't say I am surprised as that is from a Kobe-Fan

  • @xingli123 If you READ my comment, I didn't say the media doesn't give Kobe love. What I said was that the amount of love he gets is equal or slightly less than the amount of hate. As for the All-NBA Defense teams, I hope you know that they're chosen by the NBA coaches who aren't allowed to vote for their own players. You know, the guys that know WAY more about this game than a couple of people arguing on YouTube. For the All-NBA team it's a media vote. Kobe's per minute outclassed Wade clearly.

  • @MrTrojanRam Per minute? Why don't you use advance stat comparison? Look that up in basketball-reference and see who the superior player is.

  • @xingli123 Kobe led the league in Points Per Minute and was 5th in PER this season. Wade was 3rd by a narrow margin, but my killshot is that Kobe played 6 more games. I'll take a full 82 from #5 than 76 from #3. Plus, advanced stats don't measure defensive impact, at least not perfectly. The commonly used PER stat only tells the offensive story, as I noted, Wade didn't do much better while Kobe led the league in scoring.

  • @MrTrojanRam Out of all the stats, you decided to only look at "Points Per Minute" because Kobe Bryant was leading it? If you look at Per 36 minute, where both players play the same amount of minute, Kobe would take 21.2 FG and would make 9.6(45%) to Wade's 17.6 FG and would make 8.8(50%). I would gladly take Wade over Kobe. Additional, eFG%, Wade .523 (career high) to Kobe's .487. Finally, Kobe takes 0.59 FG per minute(probably highest in the league) probably why he led Points per minute.

  • @xingli123 Here's the counter: Kobe sees the opponent's best wing defender every night. Guess who takes up that defender on Wade's team? Yeah, LeBron James. The fact that their numbers are so close makes while Kobe goes against the best wing every night makes Kobe better (plus, he gave you 6 more nights of production on a busted knee the whole year).

  • @MrTrojanRam Do you want me to use the last season's playoff stats number that Wade play against the Celtics compared to Kobe's Finals stat against the Celtics? Don't make me go there. It will not even be comparable.
