  • Someone probably already beat me to this, but, I think Melechesh is a very fitting band for the Persians, especially Xerxes' forces, as they're depicted in this film =D

    Epic vid, too, btw ^^

  • hello, now ur here again!

  • And that's how a mediocre movie becomes godlike

  • This is SPARTAAAAAAAAAAA!!

Great song of Melechesh and great movie :)

  • THIS...IS...MELECHESH!!!

  • I recorded them in Atlanta on 04/08/2011. On one video some guy jumped on stage and took pick from Ashmedi's mic...

  • Melechesh- Made of win.

  • @juustosiivu It's 4/4 man, but hard to figure out, some crazy odd beats going on, reminds me of Opeth drumming

  • These riffs are fucking addicting !

  • For REE-ALLL, Melechesh (i feel certainly lucky, almost how you feel when calling a new friend by their nickname only for the first time...)are sooo good. I have the album that track is from and it is UP there, as far as current black metal goes. Not to mention, they were doing really awesome stuff in the 90's, too. Definetly check out "As Jerusalem Burns" my metal brotherz and sisterz

  • @lokust9ine "Brotherz"? Did you confuse this video with a certain other genre of music?

  • @Shadyblast I'm not sure i understand your question/implication? I was saying, to my METAL BROTHERS and SISTERS, to check out "As Jerusalem Burns"....sorry if my "funky" spelling (using the letter 'Z' instead of 'S') threw you off !! :-D

  • @lokust9ine I fully accept your apology. You are now redeemed in the eyes of the metal gods. Your trveness has been restored. Blah, blah... blah. Have a nice day. :D

  • @lokust9ine I fully accept your apology. You are now redeemed in the eyes of the metal gods. Your trveness has been restored. Blah, blah... blah. Have a nice day. :D (As Jerusalem Burns is pretty awesome, btw.)

  • I was on a concert where nile malechesh and 3 other bands were playing and i was just blown away by malecesh o and after they were done the vocalist and drummer went straith through the audience and i saw the drummer with a huge glass with alcohol in one hand and in the other a bottle of whisky so i said "Cheers..But i have nothing to drink(well you know when you say cheers you have to drink something i cant really explain it and it didnt sound like this i guess)" and he gave me a drink :D

  • xerxis is pretty boss like in the end of the vid, fits well!^^

great music, as i love nile, i have to love this!

    \m/

    greets from germany!

  • :) Fasza!

  • crazy and awesome and very very gory

  • crazy

  • How do you do this voice, sounds quite impressive :O

  • super groupe/super film

  • This song is bad ass.

  • EPIC MOVIE, EPIC MUSIC... THE GUY WHO COMBINED THEESE TWO REALLY HIT THE SPOT!

  • What does a Klingon do in Greece??

  • never heard such amazing sound quality on a youtube video

  • mixed a good song with a good movie nice, would have been nice to play with the video and edit it to sync with the music thought might have turned out a lot cooler =D

  • Ω ξειν', αγγέλλειν Λακεδαιμονίοις, ότι τήδε κείμεθα, τοις κείνων ρήμασι πειθόμενοι. (Go tell the Spartans, stranger passing by, that here, obedient to their laws we lie).

Very good video, and the song of Melechesh is kick ass. Hails from Greece!

  • SONG AND VID IS ORGASMIC!

  • why can't more black metal bands sound as good as this?*sigh*

  • @steveharrismetalgod Look at it this way, if more bands sounded like them then it would get boring.

  • Can't wait for new album. Last two were great. Sphynx is in my top 3 of 2003

  • @Ryjuss when will it be out?!

  • @steveharrismetalgod Probably late summer/early autumn (August/september?) They entered the studio in april.

  • @Ryjuss thanks man!

  • damn!

  • check out the new songs from WINTERHORDE

    click on my name

  • 300 and Melechesh are both very cool!!!!:)

  • Listening to people screaming illegible nonsense into a microphone isn't my kinda' music, but I like the movie.

  • I can pick out parts of it. But compaired to other bands of the genre this is a great one.

  • Origins

The band started their career in Jerusalem (and Bethlehem) and operated from there between 19931997; however, they have resided mainly in Amsterdam throughout most of their career. Currently the band is made up of three ethnicities, none of them of Israeli (whether Jewish or Arab) origin:[1] Armenian/Assyrian (Ashmedi),Assyrian (Moloch), Dutch (Xul)

  • EPIC!!!!

  • puta vale verga no se puede copiar el link.. pero sta bien vergona ;)

  • french frogfaces suck

  • @FreestateofOkondor Fuck you, we aren't all the same.

  • @SkollDrum Non, c'toi qui suce des bites, sale nazi.

  • S'toi nazi.

  • Arrête m'casser les couilles avec tes réponse puériles.

  • youre a dumb ass

  • This vid make me wanna see 300...

    Awesome song, by the way

  • sweetass riffing!!!these guys really stand out from the average black metal band!

  • the 300 footage is lame, but I love the song

  • wtf

  • neta que estos weyes tocan el metal mas "loooco" que e escuchado jajaja

  • no tienen madre tocando estos weyes¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • So fucking epic!!!

    Long live to Metal!!

  • thats a freaking awesome video and song

    keep up the good work

  • this song truly goes with the video, despite the fact that it is considered a Middle Eastern song, and the Spartans were against the Persians but hey, great video and song. thanks for the post!

  • this band from Israel this mean that they r not really eastern and i dont think that they even have nationality

  • yeah, i know they're from Israel, but they incorporate Middle Eastern music and talk about Ancient Sumerian topis as well as Egyptian (correct me if i'm wrong). isn't Israel considered part of the Middle East anyways? i may be wrong about that, but i heard that from people, even teachers dude. anyways, these guys are a great band!

  • Yes, they incorporate Middle Eastren/Arabic music..they speak of Mesopotamian topics in general, not Egyptian...

  • Israel is only Geographically Middle Eastern, politically they are more like a western country, racially they are 60% middle eastern(Spheardic Jew/Arab) the rest are European Ashkenazi who hold the political power...

  • wait, who told u they r from Israel? wrong, they are based in Jerusalem, the current band members form three ethnicities Armenian/Assyrian (Ashmedi), Palestinian Arab(Moloch), Dutch (Xul)...with some past members

  • when I first heard of Melechesh I was like...lol.

but later when I heard them I changed my mind.

    very good.

  • ya i like the intro ....MELECHESH is a good band

  • coolest video ever

  • exelente mele, no se copiaron de nadie, salve momias

  • ABSU is better than MELECHESH ...

  • both bands are great! none of them are better than the other because they both release great music.

  • I prefer absu, but hey, their both fucking great. anyway different sub-genres.

  • they are both great, but i too prefer Absu just a slight bit. different sub-genres since Melechesh is more towards the Folk Metal/Black Metal sub-genre, while Absu is more towards the Black/Thrash sub-genre; both are amazing bands though!

  • They're quite different from Nile outside of them. Great fucking band nonetheless, and I love the chorus on this song.

  • ZAJEBIOZA!!

  • essas melodias "metal" do oriente médio fazem meu sangue ferver, minha mente endoida e a minha alma...gritar em idiomas sinistros

  • One of the best intros ever

  • why dont you trying listening to other albums of melechesh.. they pretty good. if you a fan of Nile, pretty sure you might like it. lol. they got some pretty neat stuff. all hail melechesh

  • Melecesh is cool goddamnit

  • Ladders to sumeria is also good :D!!!

  • awesome band, the only thing i kinda dislike is the black metal vocals, the guys gd at shrieking but sumtimes he sounds a lil annoying but still very awesome stuff

  • this is a nice video. and a nice song

  • Honestly (and i don't know why i'm bothering posting this on youtube, but hey) can we not appreciate great music without worrying about its roots? Jewish, Syrian, Persian, Mesopotamian....does it really fuckin matter? Just appreciate great music, awesome riffs..ah fuck it, think how you want to..but this track has about 4 great all time hall of fame riffs as far as i can see!

  • Finally someone with a little bit brain appears on the scene - i second your statement. Great song! Especially the refrain is epic stuff...

  • amen

  • @BK1980TT Yeah I got your point, a shity song for such a shity movie LOL

  • Comment removed

  • @BK1980TT i really like the rythms of some of their songs (dont know the name in english i mean 3/4 and stuff like that if you understand)

  • @BK1980TT We all are white monkeys under in sun "RA" eye

  • @BK1980TT We all are white monkeys under in sun "RA" eye

  • @BK1980TT We all are white monkeys under in sun "RA" eye

Other ways..we are the same..same love and fear

  • dude authentic persian samurai don't have two katana, usually it's a scimitar with a tanto.

  • there are no peersian samurai. dont play smart if u dont understand anything of weaponry there also was no tanto outside old japan and the battle at thermopylae was 1500 years before there were samurai in japan. moron...

  • go suq a spottd diq

  • in elaboration, i introduce you to this entity called sarcasm. learn it, use it, it is the tool of the weak and source of great humor among learned peers

  • shut up you dumb fucker.

  • Killer Band, killer song and killer video. Really

  • you should know, since you saw that movie, that the Spartans weren't the only Greek people that took part in the persian wars.they fought alone just in this one battle-there were many more before and after it.many battles where the greek city-states(there were dozens of them:Sparta,Athens,Argos,Korinth,Thebes were only the strongest)stood united and crushed the Persian imperialism!-anyway,about the band now-THEY'RE FREAKING AWESOME DUDE!!!

  • It's really awesome!

  • btf hails

  • 5*****:)

  • holy crap this song rocks

  • Who was the guy that played the 8 feet tall giant in this?

  • He used to be in WWE as ''Kurrgan'' AKA Robert Lassiter. And he is 7 feet tall and about 330 pounds.

  • Nope, you're wrong Robert Maillet is the one who played the giant.

  • akro8

  • It would help a...little bit. If they wore amer but there might be a reason they arent and I havent seen the movie lol

  • it was Cryus The Great that started the peace, freeing the Jewish from grip of Babylon, he wrote the 1st bill of human rights. this movie is just a movie and they can't change the history ;)

  • the other places r where they use to control like they had the same king but they were not Persian. like now Canada has the same queen as UK, its funny because most of ppl from those lands were happy to be with Persia because as soon as thir oun king was done and Persian king was controling there, they started to have a better life. Xerxes The Great always respected people.

  • I dont kno about Russia but cause i study history in IRAN and what i learn is that the real Persia is IRAN, Afghanistan and Turky.

  • nice song but the movi is shit.300 the lies is a better name for this movie, becasue It is fictitious and offensive to Persian culture in many ways, the director has made many inaccurate assumptions in his depiction of ancient Persia, right at a time when the USA and Israel are threatening Irans nuclear ambitions with military strikes, the Persians are shown as brutal barbarians

  • You know the ancient Persians weren't only based in Iran. They were also based in Russia, Iraq, Afghanistan, India and parts of the UAE.

  • i AGREE

the band rules the visuals of this clip rule but the propaganda message sent by the actual film and many other hollywood film are way too obvoius.

watch transformers and hear what they say about Iranian scientists

  • Awesome movie and amazing band! I love Melechesh! One of the best metal bands out there. Vocals are killer. Nice work cideart!

  • melechesh and 300 go together very very well

  • yea!

  • Good Song

  • besides,i hope melechesh's next album to be good as emissaries >:)

  • besides,i hope melechesh's next album to be good as emissaries >:)

  • nice work,awesome >:)

this song from emissaries, melechesh's last album.released in 2006

amazing band.one of my personal favorites, like cideart :)

  • They are from PALESTINE.

  • correction: they are from ISRAEL.

  • i don't want to argue with you, but you don't know them personally, and i do.. and i tell you they are from Palestine

  • They are from Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

Although they considerd to be Israeli cities,

the majority of the population there are Arabs. But who gives a crad? These gays are awsome!

  • if you REALLY know those guys and aren't one of these "wanna-be"s that are saying crap, and if Jerusalem and Bethlehem are considered Palestinian cities, than you are speaking the truth.

  • But I think one guy is palestinian only and one guy is armenian and one ukranian and one dutch

  • that's true, and the dutch guy is originally from Palestine too :-)

  • Huh? the Dutch guy is a Dutch guy he also drums with thanatos and used to drum with liar of golgotha

but most of the band is existing in Holland for many years

I looked up information at wikapedia. I also read interview with their singer the arminian guy

But a band belongs to the public so they can be whatever you choose for them to be hihihihihi

  • thanks. Bethlehem is a Palestinian city of course.

  • if by Palestinian you mean Jewish then yes you are correct, the Arabs came to palestine long after the jews did.

  • don't mix nationality with religion.. Anyway i do mean arab, and it's obvious you know history well,, but it's much different now. where are u from btw?

  • He doesnt know shit

  • why the fuck are you guys talkin about freakin jews!? that has nothin to do with the fuckin vid! i think this video was awesome and i LOVED the song man!

    Thanks for posting!

  • they're Jewish, or thats just me assuming since they're from Isreal...

  • wrong assumption

  • they started off in israel, then moved on to Netherlands (like me lol) i believe. I don't think any of the members are jewish though.

  • what's wrong with you guys lol

i mean all of you moving to the Netherlands... :)

  • dunno lol, weed? :S you gotta be high to make up this music :P (not an insult to the band btw)

  • lol better to come to Morocco :D

you'll find what you need haha ^^

  • hahaha i guess...ask the band lol i dunno

  • yeah, none of the current members are Jews, but there might be some in the past members...who knows

  • They're mainly Armenian/Assyrian, no Jewish roots at all.
