This might sound evil but I actually was a big supporter of Kira. I know everyone was sad when L died but that was a needed casualty. Same with the officers. No revolution has ever happened in a peaceful way and honestly it was just needed. Then again this was a more grey issue. In Death Note there was no "right" or "Wrong" just depended on your life expirences and moral code.
Kira is evil! No matter who they are and what they did Kira killed people! Humans! Don't you think that criminals have family, friends, people that love THEM?! Besides, sometimes in jail, there are good people who have just made bad choises!
@mothaOmess No. Just no. Evil is a matter of opinion. Hitler was evil, but many followers considered him "God". And yes, maybe criminals do have family, but everyone suffers for one man's crime. And there are no "good" people, only good actions.
Everyone saying kira is evil, remember that every war has casualties. you can say what if all day but in the end think of it this way, if this really happened all crime would truly stop, would a dictatorship be so bad if the only action the ruler took was to punish the bad?

L was a jerk. He didn't care about people. He can't be considered Just. He only wanted to defeat KIRA in "the game" because he hated to lose. He was arrogant and selfish, and he not once considered the possibility that what KIRA was doing was Right because that would mean he was wrong. And he could never admit to being Wrong. He deserved to die.
It's funny reading comments on any Death Note video. The people always debate on whether Kira/Light was right or wrong in his actions. It goes to show exactly how many people would follow a Kira should one arise. It's a nice series to debate regardless.
That being said I agree with Kira up until he goes balistic.
God, I love this series. Both protagonists seem to cross the boundaries of good and evil in their attempts to bring about different types of justice. Light wished to create an ideal world, but threw away his own humanity in the process, and L wished to stop Light in his madness, but did equally horrible things to do so. Truly, an amazing anime.
in the end i like his death in the book while everyone whatched as Light died right in front of them and them we get a blast from the passed the discussion of what will happend after he dies
Okay when Light died in the manga I was like "HA THATS WHAT YOU GET FOR KILLING L" but right when they did that flash back when Light was still good and someone you like I almost cried because you know what the reason I support Light x L is because when Light lost his memory you saw the real Light the addiction to power and the DeathNote is what corrupted him.

I dont think people understand the anime/manga. Whats with all this Light suporting? The messege is evil corrupts the minds of those who are good. Take Yagami, a perfect, smart student, but when he gets the deathnote, his eyes become sharper, a metephor for the animal hes become (hence the title of this video). He went from some one with a good future ahead of him, to having a future of murder and death at his hands. Light isnt god, hes an 18 year old idiot who thinks hes doing the right thing.

Raito is my favorite character. He is easily the most complex and interesting character and he didn't deserve to die anymore than L did! I cried more when Raito died than when L did.

When I was first watching this a couple of months ago, I was nuetral on teams. I just found this very entertaining. I admit, I cried when both L and Light died because, well, death is sad~! That is all I wanted to say. :)

@kink94735 Well, he had complete and utter control over the one person who was technically more powerful than him. Which gave him control of her Shinigami, who was more powerful than her, since Rem could just see L's name. Making him stronger not in power, but in intillect and control.
I'm actually quite surprised there are people here on youtube who don't just blindly bash Light. Kudos to you for having a higher intelligence than the average Death Note fan.

@kink94735 That was the author's original plan for Death Note. And I almost wish the entire series had been about him. Though the new Kira that appears after Light *spoilers* (You know what happens. XD) might be the kid from the Pilot chapter.

I was severely disappointed with how Near won. It was a cop out on the author's part, Light (Who was always my favorite character. The protagonists usually are.) made way too many mistakes he wouldn't have normally made just so Ohba could finish Death Note.

@kink94735 I honestly don't hate anyone from DN. In fact, my three favorite characters are Light, L, and Misa. In that order. While I was hoping for Light to win the while thing, I wouldn't be as disappointed with Near as much as I am if it had been believable. Instead, Light basically screwed up in a way he had never acted or shown doing anytime throughout the series. I wouldn't have even minded if L won, as long as Light went out in a blaze of glory.

@kink94735 What I really like is that in the manga (I think this happened. I'm gonna have to look up a lot I don't remember when I get my manga back.) after Light dies, Ryuk is talking in the Shinigami world to a Shinigami wearing what looks like a torn up uniform. Light's school uniform.

@sasukekun1997 Oneproblem, Light becomes obssessed with a power no mere mortal should have. When you have such power in your hands, its likely the human mind will act diffrently. He isnt just cleaning up the world, hes shaping it in his image. He is using the deathnote to kill those who dont agree with his views, or those who dont worship him. He wanted to make a new world of peace, but with such amazing power within the deathnote, no human can control it to there wants. Tragic really.

For a start, if you believe in fate or god (Im by no means christian, but I do have some beliefs), then you will think that everyone is on this world for a reason. Even the psycopaths of this world exist to show what happens when you give into temptation and greed. @reaper19561 I have recently had a huge convosation with a guy on youtube I met who thought the same thing as you. I have over a million understandable reasons why Kira/Light derserved to die. I dont feel like going into them now though.
@Themastercode1235 Actually, the people/shinigami he used were not innocent, they Misa, Mikami and Kiyomi volunteered, Rem was simply protecting Misa (I think that bit was the best thought out plan Light did). He's no angel, he's no demon, he's a person with a vision, a vision to change the world.

Though Kira the shinigami lost his memory so he has no recollection of what happened but Ryuk tells him the story of the man who used the death note.

@HarrietHLE no they released an episode or movie in japan showing ryuk and some shinigami in the shinigami world. the shinigami beleived to be Light gives him an apple and asks about what happened between him and the human. He has goggles,a tie,a satchel, and other possesions from himself and people who he got killed or killed. he throws ryuk an apple like light did and at the end ryuk says isn't that right light? Then kira the sinigami goes off to the human world but has no memories

L was a jerk. He didn't care about people. He can't be considered Just. He only wanted to defeat KIRA in "the game" because he hated to lose. He was arrogant and selfish, and he not once considered the possibility that what KIRA was doing was Right because that would mean he was wrong. And he could never admit to being Wrong. He deserved to die.

It's funny reading comments on any Death Note video. The people always debate on whether Kira/Light was right or wrong in his actions. It goes to show exactly how many people would follow a Kira should one arise. It's a nice series to debate regardless.

God, I love this series. Both protagonists seem to cross the boundaries of good and evil in their attempts to bring about different types of justice. Light wished to create an ideal world, but threw away his own humanity in the process, and L wished to stop Light in his madness, but did equally horrible things to do so. Truly, an amazing anime.

Okay when Light died in the manga I was like "HA THATS WHAT YOU GET FOR KILLING L" but right when they did that flash back when Light was still good and someone you like I almost cried because you know what the reason I support Light x L is because when Light lost his memory you saw the real Light the addiction to power and the DeathNote is what corrupted him.
So in my mind

I dont think people understand the anime/manga. Whats with all this Light suporting? The messege is evil corrupts the minds of those who are good. Take Yagami, a perfect, smart student, but when he gets the deathnote, his eyes become sharper, a metephor for the animal hes become (hence the title of this video). He went from some one with a good future ahead of him, to having a future of murder and death at his hands. Light isnt god, hes an 18 year old idiot who thinks hes doing the right thing.

@kink94735 Well, he had complete and utter control over the one person who was technically more powerful than him. Which gave him control of her Shinigami, who was more powerful than her, since Rem could just see L's name. Making him stronger not in power, but in intillect and control.
I'm actually quite surprised there are people here on youtube who don't just blindly bash Light. Kudos to you for having a higher intelligence than the average Death Note fan.

I was severely disappointed with how Near won. It was a cop out on the author's part, Light (Who was always my favorite character. The protagonists usually are.) made way too many mistakes he wouldn't have normally made just so Ohba could finish Death Note.

@kink94735 I honestly don't hate anyone from DN. In fact, my three favorite characters are Light, L, and Misa. In that order. While I was hoping for Light to win the while thing, I wouldn't be as disappointed with Near as much as I am if it had been believable. Instead, Light basically screwed up in a way he had never acted or shown doing anytime throughout the series. I wouldn't have even minded if L won, as long as Light went out in a blaze of glory.

He isnt just cleaning up the world, hes shaping it in his image. He is using the deathnote to kill those who dont agree with his views, or those who dont worship him. @Themastercode1235 Actually, the people/shinigami he used were not innocent, they Misa, Mikami and Kiyomi volunteered, Rem was simply protecting Misa (I think that bit was the best thought out plan Light did). He's no angel, he's no demon, he's a person with a vision, a vision to change the world.

@deathnote922 Also, you forget that people kill people everyday. What scares you the most is that KIRA killed thousand of people in a period of 7 years. But do you know what war does? It kills MILLIONS of people Daily. The war in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, the Civil War... the U.S. army has killed MILLIONS of people over the years of history and no one says that's wrong because you expect it. How is killing people randomly in war not considered MURDER? Because they are MURDERERS. All of them.

@deathnote922 The army kills. The police kill. The politicians send people to kill. Why aren't they Murderers? Because they make you think it's ok if THEY do it. L sent a stand-in (Lind L. Taylor) in the first broadcast. He died. L sent him there to die. Why isn't L a murderer? And all of those FBI members? They died because of L. It's his fault. It's his responsibilty and yet, he's a saint. L can't be Justice because he is Selfish and Arrogant. Just like every judge out ther. They suck.

@vixceous okay first of all no, second Light Killed inocent people, L killed people who were doing wrong to the world such as murdering other inocent people. L is trying to prevent that from happening to people that dont deserve to die......... ok if you still dont agree with me lets put u in this situation: say u went through a red light 3 times and got 3 tickets and went to court and did it again, light heard about it and how u broke the law.... he writes your name in the death note and u die

@vixceous do you realize that he punished people who did crimes that werent that bad...... say if you broke into some body's house and killed everyone it the house when they were asleep. that would be something different, thats someone who should be executed. and dfo u realize that light didnt have premission to kill those people he wasnt like the cops, how they can find some criminal and beable to shoot them in the process of getting them to prison. see the difference and i agree will L + near

Its like punishing a serial killer who has killed his freinds family but killing that serial killers family yourself. Its not justice, its a sick fantasy and it makes you no better then the killer himself

@MrsCrazyEmoGirl I liked his ideals at the very beginning, but then he became a fucking dick hold that NEEDED to die; personally, I like L much better, but I like Light's personality and use it for some of my more corrupt characters. Just because you're a Light fangirl doesn't make you any better than the rabid L fangirls, how do I know? Because I used to be one.

In the end i think it was right what Light did. I know Lights a murderer but he was doing it for the right reasons but he just went mad with power.

@MrsCrazyEmoGirl L was awesome Light was awesome ...hated Near and Mello ps (spoiler) Light died but was turned into a shinigami; Kira the Shinigami and he goes to the human world once again because the shinigami world is boring. Though Kira the shinigami lost his memory so he has no recollection of what happened but Ryuk tells him the story of the man who used the death note.

@HarrietHLE no they released an episode or movie in japan showing ryuk and some shinigami in the shinigami world. the shinigami beleived to be Light gives him an apple and asks about what happened between him and the human. He has goggles,a tie,a satchel, and other possesions from himself and people who he got killed or killed. he throws ryuk an apple like light did and at the end ryuk says isn't that right light? Then kira the sinigami goes off to the human world but has no memories

@MrsCrazyEmoGirl Light was a psychotic serial killer, he deserved to die, while L was the ACTUAL GOOD one. now I'm not saying Light was a psychopath from the beginning, Light COULD have been good, however he became corrupt with all the power the deathnote gave him, turning him in a psychopath. L was not corrupt and was trying to stop 'Kira' before he killed more innocent people than he already had. Light killed even the MINOR crimanals (You know people who werent sentenced to death; ie: Theives)
