  • Haha that melody at 1:25 sounds just like "Soul to Squeeze" from the chillies!

  • Def. the player not the bass, you sound good bro. slapping on that fretless with the slide is pretty rad.

  • dont knock on the fretboard material it lasts way longer that rosewood with roundwounds, which in my op is the dumbest thing ive ever seen.want rounds buy a fretted neck.;)

  • nice Tshirt

  • Yo, what made you get this VM and buy a fretless neck instead of just getting the VM Fretless to begin with?

same price, same elecronics, has that neck already, only difference is the body wood.

Only asking because I was going to buy the fretted VM and defret it to have a Fretless with maple fretboard but you've bought the VM fretted and put the VM Fretless neck on it when you could have saved money on changing the neck and got the VM FL to start with.

  • @BassManBrine no man this is how my uncle bought it

  • That slapstuff that starts at 2:20...is it from Pow? Larry Graham. Cool sound on this bass and nice playing

  • i dont like the blemished glossy finish, i like the natural

  • Great bass! Great tone! I have one almost same but it's the one looks like Jaco used to use.But I really like that bass sound for the price! U really get good techniques!

  • Where did you get that clear finish body with the fretless neck? That's not the standard config.

The fretless only comes with a 3-colour sunburst so uncle must have had the "modified" modified!

  • thats a GREAT sounding bass for under 300. wow.

  • Nice shirt :P

  • uhmmm the neck it's diferent... what about the neck?

  • Yeah, the inlays are different, they have black blocks like mine.

  • It's also Maple instead of Ebenol

  • u slap better than i spek englezch! (lol jk u slap awesome like a bass legend, dude 5*****)

  • Nice funk bass slappin'!

  • nice, but don't they have maple boards?

  • yea the frettles has an ebonal board thou

  • whoa i'm kind of impressed with this squire i usually hate the brand since when have they been making fretless basses? btw you're amazing at the fretless and you're the only person i've ever heard that slapped a bass making it sound good.

  • Why? Squire makes solid kick ass basses. Especially when you mod them up.

  • because most of the time you can find a bass in the same price range thats better quality. i'm more of a fan of their mexican, japanese or american brands... basically anything that doesn't say squire. i'm sure they're a lot better if you mod them though

  • 1. Squier, not Squire

    2. Judging a bass primarily on brand rather than actually testing tone it is foolish.

    3. Most upper-level Squiers are just as good, if not better than most MiMs.

    4. Squier has the bad rep for their guitars, but their basses are decent, and the stock of the VM line is even better.

But if you rather stick with the enigma of a simple name, fine, more advantage to the rest of us who use them. :)

  • 1. sorry i feel like an idiot i actually thought it was spelled squire2. i've tested the squier's tone and can't say i've ever been overly impressed with the squier's sound i think a person can do better if they go with other instruments3. i haven't heard a squier that would beat a MiM 4. i agree the squier's basses are DECENT but once again for the same amount of money you can find other brands that would beat them. 4. i'm not just sticking to the enigma of a name i've tested a lot of squiers

  • How could you have tested it, if you didn't even know they made fretless basses?

  • i wasn't saying i've tested a lot of fretless squires i thought the argument was over fretted squiers. which i'm saying i've tested a lot of squiers. if you're trying to say the fretless squier is one of the better basses in its price range/ category i would have to agree with you because there aren't very many cheap well built fretless' out there but i'm still not a huge fan of the fretted squires that i've played

  • Well, I see your point.

But look at it this way,

Factory setup is horrid usually, granted.

But if setup right, their P and Js are awsome.

I have an Affinity P. Yes an Affinity... But long since it's parts have been switched with: Fender '62 original pups (p bass), MM45 DR Strings (Marcus Miller sig), and the Badass II bridge.

It plays and sounds like a dream.

  • When/if you get a chance, test the Vintage Modified and/or Classic Vibe series. They are shocking, with stock. :)

  • ok next time i see one i'll try it out. but i know i wont be buying a squier mainly because my next bass will be a big upgrade from my current beast of a bass. it'll probably be a fender american jazz bass or more likely a stingray.

  • stingrayHH u mean? lol

  • sorry i can't find what i said about the stingray what was i saying? i like most of the stingrays i've tried i'm not sure if they were hh or just norman

  • lol wow ur right it is spelled squier

  • I've made the mistake too... lol

But I have a question to ask, how does your bass have the body of the 70's fretted with the *Jaco inspired* 62's fretless neck?

  • lol i know its a wierd mix but my uncle vary nicly gave this bass to me as a grad gift...pretty nice guy.lol

  • @m1ndNOVA .lol idk thats how it was when my uncle gave it 2 me.....iv never seen another like it

  • nice soul to squeeze part haha

  • Awesome

  • your awesome

  • i will buy the same :P

  • yup....good idea ;D

  • yeah so is that a fretless?

    XD LMAO

    I love you!

  • haaaaa haaaaaa.... i love u too :)
