  • People that came here because of Scott Pilgrim are total noobs because this isn't even the the song he played in the movie...it was the battle theme of FF4 that he played XD

  • @slitheryjuggler94 In some versions of the movie its the FF2 theme.

  • @524mills No in all version of the movie I'm pretty sure he calls it final fantasy 2, but the song he plays is from Final Fantasy IV.

  • @slitheryjuggler94 In the Japanese version he says FF IV.

  • @slitheryjuggler94 The comic clearly state it as Final Fantasy II.

  • @Trickster242 I know that, but my point is that this isn't the Final Fantasy II that was mentioned in the movie...He played the battle theme of Final Fantasy IV.

  • Well in the movie Scott plays the NES version of the theme not the modern rearrangements. He quoted the right FF game. :)

  • I came here cuz i like the song

  • Whats with all this Scott Pilgrim bullcrap?

  • @Kzar5678 Same nerd guys from Big Bang Theory discovered FFII's battle theme due to a joke in the comics/movie

  • I like how this was the first result when I looked up "generic fight music" on Youtube.

    =/

  • Scott Pillgrim played the bassline from IV not II.

  • @BuffaloaferN7 In America Final Fantasy IV is actually II (since the first three games were never localized at the time)

  • lol scott pilgrim sayd he learn the bassline from finalfantasy 2 but it the 4 lol

  • Meh, too bad this isn't the FF2 Pilgrim was talking about

  • Love that flute part.

  • Fight a girl? This'll be tricky...

  • this song takes a diamond encrusted shit all over your face

  • "Searches ffii battle theme"

"Showing results for ffvii battle theme"

Oh come on youtube I am dissapointed at you.

Anyways, I feel Nobuo didn't had enough with the Famicom soundchip, the remastered versions are really outstanding.

  • Awesome battle theme, mediocre game.

  • THIS THEME RoCKkkKS .. its so .. military (LMAO XD)

  • Lol what about one for the ps3?

  • Goddamn, I'd love to see them make a remake of this game.

  • @hyp3rnov FF2 PSP Remake

  • @hyp3rnov There was one put on the GBA along with FFI

  • Omg battle! run away ^-^

  • Sounds like Final Fantasy battle theme about the Second World War...you as american soldier against japanese and germans ^-^

  • *starts game on overworld*

0:00 walks out the house and a fight starts "Oh come on I just took 5 steps outside my house and already I'm fighting a bitch ass goblin."

0:20 victory theme plays "thank god now I can walk again"

0:22 "Hmmm I wonder whats down there i'm gonna check it out"

0:29 "another fucking battle, now who... is... thi HOLY SHIT THAT WOLF PACK WIPED MY TEAM OUT RUNNNN BITCH COME ON FATTY RUN THEY ARE GONNA EAT CHO"

0:38 Game Over and have to start all over again *facepalm* XD

  • @xRocketzFighterx Sounds pretty accurate haha

  • Why don't they make good games like these anymore?

  • When the fuck did everyone start talking about scott pilgrim?

and for the note, my name is also scott.

so now, im an awesome character in this game and some canadian guy who just loves to reference video games.

  • @UltimaWeapon12 Cool story, Scott

  • @AznScope112

    i know right?

  • @UltimaWeapon12

    no, you're other scott.

  • I love how people think when in Scott Pilgrim he said "Final Fantasy 2" he meant this one... He was referring to Final Fantasy 4 which was originally called 2, don't believe me? listen to the bass lines better.

  • @Sx2Kirby I have to agree, I thought it sounded more like it was from Final Fantasy (2/4) I thought about it and was like "He means 4." Rofl.

  • @Sx2Kirby Yeah, thanks for clearing that up. Didn't sound right to me.

  • @Sx2Kirby You are correct. He said FF2 because that's what it was released as in North America. When Scott Pilgrim says FF2 it means FF4 in reality.

  • I already knew of this theme back when Final Fantasy Origins was released. The true american release as well. I even got it's GBA port in my GCN Gameboy Player on S-Video.

  • I'd heard this before Scott Pilgrim (Well, the Final Fantasy III/VI version anyway).

  • Who else is watching this because of Scott Pil Grim?

  • @ExaltedHamster hehehe me hehe.

  • @ExaltedHamster And Pilgrim is one word.

  • @epiUnleashed You obviously did not get my reference to the first Evil Ex fight.

  • I could have sworn that this music was used in a kirby game too.

  • Mhm I listened to this many times before Scott Pilgrim. But I just had to pop in this game for the music after that.

  • @dallasdoby3 But you DO know he meant Final Fantasy IV, right? Which was released outside of Japan as Final Fantasy II?

  • @epiUnleashed Ya I knew. It was difficult explaining the reference to my friend

  • I going to rate this a 10 out of 10

  • Comment removed

  • My favorite. I played this by ear on my clarinet in a band hall full of 185 band nerds, and not one recognized it. I feel sad for my fellow band nerds.

  • @KyvannShrike lol I'm really sorry about that

  • @SerenitytheDragonair It's ok. It's not your fault. But I'm thinking of getting on finale and trying to transcribe some of the parts of this as a third down stand tune (obviously I would have to arrange it right).

To the two that liked my comment, thanks. Just trying to enjoy the little things. :D

  • @KyvannShrike Oh ok :)

  • I liked this song. I liked the opening theme music the best though. It just kinda stuck in my head.

  • The beginning is just pumping.

  • you are the salt of the earth

  • I came here cause of Scott Pilgrim

  • @xcivx31x same :P

  • FunFact: I checked the notes for the new movie Scott Pilgrim. Guess what song is making an apperance in it?

That's right FF Fans. Rejoice. This song. Right here.

  • @TomahawkmanExe0 Sadly, it's going to reference Final Fantasy IV's battle theme, from what I hear. I guess it's because when FFIV first came out over here, it was called FFII. I think we all know why at this point, so I won't insult everyone's intelligence.

  • @ChronoMojo Unfortunately, I think I was the only one in the theater who got that part. It was still awesome though!

  • @cheetah672 metoo...i hate when that happens =/

  • @TomahawkmanExe0 Yep, I just saw the movie and it was in it, pretty awesome.

  • @TomahawkmanExe0 Just the bass part

  • @TomahawkmanExe0

I know! I freaked out when Scott said he learned the bass part!

  • Thank you

  • Urgh, this song makes me wanna cut somebody's head off!

  • i freaking love this song. I play WoW and it is awsome to fight to this song.

  • Two and a half men, Weekend in bangkok with two olympic gymnists has this at the end!

  • CLOUD IS SPY!

  • I love this, but I prefer the dissidia version <3

  • @RubyKowalewicz the dissidia version ruins the song completely.

  • @link8352 Well, I don't think so. But I feel that way about "Don't be Afraid" from FF VIII, so I guess I know what you mean.

  • @DAsoulRK

i agree, i have dawn of souls for GBA, i beat 1 first, then i expected 2 to be just like it, but i was suprised at the ability training instead of leveling up, which made it unique, plus 2 is my favorite outta the series.

  • The Famicom version of this song is only addictive in a strange way; this REALLY adds epic.

  • Definetley One of my favorite Final Fantasy songs of all time.

  • Final Fantasy II is fun because it is unique, instead of leveling up characters you level up their abilities! Not too hard though, training solves all problems. ;)

  • I wish this game wasnt so hard the only Final Fantasy I had problems with.

  • i agree i mean it was kinda ridiculous i mean my mp would never go up an i sat there and used it and used but only got it to 100 and i just said screw it. but even though it was hard it was still a good game.

  • @Demonfire94 Ive played FF I for like, gameboy, that one I didnt beat (it was my friend's and he wanted it back), and im near the last boss on the remake of III for the DS. That ones not too bad combat wise, but you didnt get enough general direction, so I got lost easily.

  • they ruined this song in dissidia :(

  • How so? I quite love it in dissidia. My heart races with glee when I see it's the Emperor I must fight, because I know what song will play.

  • meh it just doesn't sound as much as an epic fight and it just doesn't sound... like your fighting something powerful it sounds too classy compared to the original. my opinion of course.

  • TBQH, this song was used to fight random battles, the battles against the mooks and other weaklings, but I agree, the song is quite calm and classy in Dissidia.

I guess that's why I kinda like it.

  • 'm well aware it's random battle theme but still it's quite epic for that

  • Lol, I think I was trying to make a point about how it should strike an 'omg, epic monster' feeling, but when I typed it, I had just woken up.

    :P

  • This is the best version of the song.

  • yea it Palamecia not Hilda, i thought the same thing lol

  • The logo is emperor mateus on this and the psp. Great music! XD

  • The logo for this game (hilda) makes me feel uncomfortable for some reason XD

i like the PSP logo that has emperor palamecia

  • agreed

  • Is that Hilda? It looks like Palamecia to me.

  • now that you say that....yeah I think thats Palamecia

  • My favorite FF battle theme. It literally sounds like your running into battle. I would love to hear a fully orchestrated live version of this.

  • try the soundrack from dissidia.

easy download links found by google (I'm saying it from experience). ^^

It's not fully orchestrated, but piano, violins and... one digeridoo... I think.

  • Look up the Dissidia reamake then...

  • I liked it at first; but then after the millionth random battle in the last dungeon, it became grating. I like FF2, but it's probably my least favorite FF, 'cause the level up system is F*CKIN' broken!

  • It's not broken. It was a unique approach to the leveling system, as opposed to the more rigid leveling system of their previous game, FF1. Unfortunately, the FF2 leveling system sucked donkey ass. Which is why they changed it back in FF3.

  • Well, when I said it was broken I meant that it sucked. Nice idea, but could've used better execution.

  • you right!! It is my favorite too. So tense sound that would make you excite to battle. XD

  • LOL i thought the original is the same as the Dissidia one but this is better(like everything is better in original in the FF series except Chaos Shrine cuz the arrangement of this in Dissidia012 is AWESOME)

  • @youxtubing Dissidia remix

  • @youxtubing check out the dissidia version.

  • @youxtubing YEAHHH baby, I got this game on my IPOD lol

  • I like how the 8 bit translated well to this version, you still get the segment differentiations throughout the song.

  • I'm trying to find FF II on PSP, I got FF I just need FF II. It's the best!

  • FTW

  • bring it on monsters

  • This is one of my favorite battle themes! It really feels like the tension between good vs evil.

  • Very Suitable for the game.

  • better than most of the FF battle themes

  • No, correction. THE best.

  • @Mittarimato

    I personally feel, that Laguna's

"The Man With The Machine Gun"

from Final Fantasy VIII is better. :D
