  • any updates on the albino?

  • You say the sire was a Het albino, then this is what we call a het showing an visual trait also known as paradox, so he may survive as he has a bit of a mix in the genes thats if he is still here with us? So if he grows up he will actually be het albino I'd be willing to put money on it.

  • Hey Tess, you and Henry should make some more videos on your boas! ; )

I know he has some great ones hanging around there somewhere! There isn't many YouTuber's that do a lot of boa videos!

    Rob

  • i noticed it has a wobble like some spider ball pythons are known for...wonder if that has anything to do with it???always looking forward to your vids henry...keep up the good work

  • Been 3 days since last update, has it still survived so far? The way your luck goes on the odds it's only fitting you get one to survive and become fruitful.

  • Congrats!!! This is very exciting!

  • update please

  • Well thats pretty neat!

  • looks pied albino

  • It's a lethal gene and it is well-known among carpet enthusiasts that you don't breed jag to jag and produce dead freak snakes. Why this irresponsible pairing has been done "four years" is beyond comprehension.

  • @ExoticFauna I think he just proved that it's not a lethal gene, but there may have been another gene causing the deaths, which may couple itself with the jaguar genetic traits.

  • @ExoticFauna always one bleeding heart whiner in the comments.

  • @ExoticFauna

he can do what he wants with his snakes and you can do what you want with yours its his business. if you have nothing nice or considerate to say dont say anything at all!!

  • awesome

  • WOW !!! That baby is so amazing looking. Wish the best for him/her !! Really strange colors sure would love to see it survive :O)

  • why is there such a high mortality rate?

  • Update.... Went out and looked this morning and its still with us. Its sitting with its litter mates coiled up and flicking its tongue :-)

it is such a nice looking snake.. wow.. Tess

  • Hey guys, is the leucistic still alive?

  • sorry about the rest of the baby jags /....wow thats a mazing !! i would call that jag a leucistic paradox albino

  • Beautiful animal. Hope it works out for you guys. We all know how some genes have quirks. This is just one amazing case.

    Best of luck.

  • The best theory I have heard about the Fatal problem with Lucy Jags is related to the fact that many normal Jags also have nuero issues sometimes. It appears that all vertebrates have a type of melanin that is produced when they are still embriotic that migrates to the brain and affects things like coordination etc. The lack of that melanin, or poor amount of it, reduces pattern and increases color, but has side affects. A pure white snake = no melanin = death. Jags = some mel. = Nuero

  • Is there such a thing as a "normal" carpet python? Like i dont know to much about carpets but it seems like there would be right? Like a normal ball python a normal burm python a normal retic python so is there a normal carpet python?

  • @ReptiBreeder102 There are several different subspecies of Carpet pythons, but yet, there are normal Carpets.

  • oh ok thanks for the info tsc and to hery keep use updated on the albino lusi i hope it survives.

  • I am thinking it's retarded lol

  • why do the lusis carpet normaly die could some1 send me a quik message on why this is thanks.

  • @tomreptyboy09 It's just a fatal gene. Some speculate it's because of heart or respiratory issues. Most never make it more than a few hours. Even jaguars (the heterozygous form) have neurological issues. So there are just problems inborn in the gene.

  • Hopefullly that leucistic keeps healthy and you can breed it next season! Will be sick!

  • dont think i'd want to breed jag x jag with the hopes for a lucy when i know they are going to die or have serious neural issues...just seems a bit irrisponcible.

  • look at all those loops. Good luck keeping it alive.

  • This isn't a first, though it is very rare. This has been done at least twice before, and the babies have lived for a few months, but then die. The theory is that it's a chimera...which means that rather than sharing the genes from both parents, it's body has sections that are genetic clones of the parents...so the Lucy part survives for a while, because the other genetic parts of the snake are, literally, completely unrelated. There have been human Chimera's also, it's very interesting

  • i hope you keep it and breed it out.

  • Interesting, please keep us posted on the progress of the little guy.

  • Very interesting!!! Keep us posted!!! :)

  • I hope it survives! It'll be fun to look to see what it looks like a year from now~!

  • i hope it makes it!

  • That's a car crash of a clutch, if the leusistics don't survive why keep breeding Jag to Jag?

  • i was the first!!!! what's up???

  • i am the firts one seeing your video
