  • cant beat a working pit!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love pit bulls and I know they make for great family pets, but I have to wonder what these dogs, who were originally bred NOT to bite humans, are doing in police work. There's no doubt these dogs are loyal and trustworthy around humans, but training them to bite humans goes against what these dogs have been bred for. If they are being used for drug detection, why not use a scent hound instead? For protection, shepherds and rotties have always proven themselves. Why pitties?

  • Awesome work. Its great to see the dogs being trained to do community work such as police dogs. As you all can see...what you put in, is what you get out.

  • Hey, thanks for putting this up! Here is an update on the Lawdogs dogs... K9 Shaka is still working, and with a new agency in Oregon. K9 Dilly is still doing well and his brother Boldog Grim just got his Schutzhund II, and his other brother Boldog General Burkhalter just got his Schutzhund I. (Yeah!) K9 Hemi died of cancer (RIP) K9 Lucky still working for WSP, K9 X-Dog (Scout) still THE BEST bomb dog the WSP has! : ) K9 Kona hard at work in Shelton! Diane Jessup of Boldog Kennels

  • This great support and publicity for a crippled reputation thank you W. S. P. Just say no to B. S. L.

  • i love pitbulls mine was the fattest in the litter :3 he use to put his whole body in the bowl to prevent the other to eat lol. when he started growing up he was the biggest softy ever! everytime i came thru the door he would run up and wag his tail so hard his whole body moved with it. all in all pit are amazing as long as u treat them well and train them properly

  • This is freaking awesome.

A APBT as a police dog? I love it

  • best dog for sure and im so happy to see one as a police dog wish more people would understand how great these miss understood dog are bc its not the dog its the owner and how the dog is raised

  • whats the songs name ?

  • Love it! Finally someone using pitbulls for a good reason and helping their rep.

    KUDOS

  • I really enjoyed the video. It definitely proves that pitbulls can be great companions and protection. I am sending my pitbull to protection training as soon as she completes her obedience training.

  • dog@ 1:40 looks like my dog Chili, i bargained him from some young boys who were fighting him. the best , most loyal dog ever, i believe he knew i'd saved his life. died at age 12 of cancer of the pancreas, R.I.P., my faithful companion,i'll never forget you! ...FYI, 12345tomdog....pit bulls wont turn on you, any dog that has been mistreated can show aggressive behavior, even a chihuahua.

  • Can anyone tell me what this song is?

  • If I wanted to create the ultimate police dog, I would use a Shepherd/Wolf Hybird. Wolves have a bite force of around 1,500 Psi. Much greater than that of the Pit Bull. Of course, that is also enough to cut off the suspects are pretty easily.

  • @Tigerpunch134 Dogs are not used to kill the suspect, only to stop him.

  • @Tigerpunch134 Wolf-hybrids of any kind are dangerous animals. There's a reason any wolf rescue, animal behaviorist, what have you say people shouldn't own them. I've met people who claim to have "the nicest wolf-dog ever"... And the thing turns out to be a husky mix with a smutty coat. Every time. A police dog needs to respond to commands 100% of the time, be reliable around the general public, and be trustworthy in an officer's home. That won't happen with a wolf-hybrid.

  • @LaikaCameBack

Wolf-Hybrids can be great pets AS LONG AS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. Incidents involving wolf dogs can often be traced to the ignorance of the owner. They certainly can be difficult to manage if not prepared for their needs and behaviors. They need to be exposed to lots of different people, locations and situations early on, to prevent them from being skittish and potentially fearful (sometimes leading to biting). They are not as easy as dogs are, but they can make great pets.

  • @microsf121 I agree but to many people have no idea that their Lil' lobo or nikkita isn't going to be like the ones on TV. I have six "throwaways" that prove that. Mr. & Ms. public wanted a "cool pet" until the pet was to much for them. I feel sorry for the hybrids. Without the proper owner who understands them they are lost...not dog ....not wolf...not wanted but by only a few who know and love them. I would never breed but I will take the ones who have no one else.

  • Although I have reservations about training pits as traditional police dogs. But, healthy, well bred Sheppards are very hard to find in the US today. I could see a regular pit as an excellent ambassador for the the police and on on occasion some might make good drug dogs/rescue dogs. I am against training them as guard dogs. People friendliness and loyalty are their most important traits and their probably their only salvation with all the bad press.

  • My favorite breed. They really have gotten a bad reputation. Thanks to the Washington PD for recognizing them for what they are!

  • Awesome!

  • i think that German shepherds are a better police dog because pit bulls can turn on you easily ( gust saying )

  • @12345tomdog Looks like you don't know much about the breed...

Pit bulls turn on people? Right... maybe you should learn a little more about the breed before you state "facts" about them *just sayin*

  • @12345tomdog yeah turn on you ive had pitbulls all my life ive never had one turn on me plus were is the actual proof they turn on you for one pits love people and were bred to be loyal fast and strong most gherman shepards parents are over bred or there parent are over bred most like your dog has overbred genes in its family leading to poor immunity and back joints and cateracts or even a bad brain probly the only german shepards who havent been over bred are the origional german shepards

  • @cobraopts7 pitbulls can turn on you just like any other dog even if you have raised it good its hole life my pit turned on me my friends chow turned on her mom

  • @xxmethod82xx Dogs turn on owners who have not trained them properly, and don't control them properly. A dog who bites is usually a dog that is not accepting you as his alpha. Dogs are more than willing to be second to a human - but you have to act like his leader, or he'll be yours instead - and he'll discipline you by biting if you aren't behaving.

  • @capnquack Agreed. :) Monitoring a wolf pack and the way they socialize with each other proves this point. Alphas are not afraid to 'keep things in line' by snapping, snarling or nipping. So to a dog who thinks he's alpha, he thinks he's entitled to food before everyone else so touching it is a no-no. And they take the responsibility of judging outsiders who aren't within 'the pack'. Hence why some dogs can be good with their family but not other people/pets. Be the alpha, train them well :)

  • beautiful dogs.. wish I could take them home lol

  • I had a pit for 15 years until she died of a tumor, and she was loyal, loving and a very intelligent family pet. Sadly they are banned in England so it's no longer safe to own one here which is dumb ass scare-mongering at it's worst.

Well done for showing their better side :)

  • if you love staffs you gotta love pits because they are very similar in temperment

  • the puppies are so cute

  • u need pto rename this pit attacks police. that way people with bad perspectives on pitts would see this. from a cop.

  • finally they are being used for good!^^ instead of umusing sick people with fights. ppl say they fight because they're "evil". for goodness sake, they just have high preydrive!! these ppl know how to put that to good use though instead of getting rid of them. great vid! thanks for defending the breed!^^

  • great vid, shows that this dog isn't all bad it is a lovely breed that is used for the wrong reasons a lot of the time but good job trying to give them a good name

  • thank you i have two male pitbulls and finally a video that shows that they are a true american breed.I am actually training my 9 month old to work for law enforcement . GREAT VIDEO

  • Guys- I'm gonna give it to you all honestly here, coming from a dog handler myself I understand both sides to the pit arguement. Pittys are disliked as of their sheer dominant striek, they will attack kids and adults sheep and other dogs only as they are protective and will only do what you *program* it to do, in my opinion it is the ass hole gangswho train these creatures into killing machines that need to be killed not these loyal dogs

  • hell yeah you put it to them

  • this shows that the pit is a nantional hero

  • GREAT VID!:)

  • Thanks for all the positive comment on this beautiful dog.

  • carolann64 has been blocked and her comments removed.

  • You are an uneducated, easily frightened faggot. I have a Pit bull and he is obedient (over 20 commands so far at 9 months) very friendly and well balanced. There are more unprovoked attacks on humans by German Shepherds than by Pit bulls.

I'm sure you are a cat person anyways- I bet you're cat doesn't know any commands...

  • I hav a pitbull... she doesn't like any1 but our family... they are excellent guard and police dogs..

  • somethings wrong with your pit...lol dont take it the wrong way either i love pits but they are nnot good gaurd dogs... police and persona protection is another story but gaurd...dogs...no

  • @azzure72 Theese dogs have a higher williningness to please there owner, you teach him to gaurd and beacuase hes so sedtermined and willing to please you he will gaurd better than anything. you have to know how to teach him.
