  • Some of thoses stretches don't look to healthy, some of the motions seem to forced. They should flow more naturally. The core thing withs drums (and this goes with every aspect of them) is that everything should be as natural as possible.

  • The only one thats bad for the wrist is where he rotates the sticks back and forth. One of our drumline guys was doing that, and popped a ligament. We marching a whole the rest of the season cause of that.

  • omg it feels amazing

  • that looks TERRIBLE for the wrists.

  • @rogerklotz80 Why would that be bad for the wrists? They're getting loosened up

  • i think you should show some simple stretches at first....

  • you dont want to do these stretches. jojo mayer is against these stretches, especially the last one, where he whips his hands back and forth with the sticks in it. and i would takes jojos word over this guys anyday of the week

  • @420jaymac Hi, can you tell me where to find those JoJo Mayer stretchings? Thanx, mate.

  • @baalthamor its on his dvd, secret weapons for the modern drummer

  • @420jaymac Thanx, mate!

  • good video, it makes me feel pro

  • lol weak stretch # 1 see my "Drum Lesson # 1" to see what stretch # 1 should look like! lol guy can't even do it to extension...

    Some pro

  • While some people can do anything and it doesn't matter, I personally start by warming up with a mix of singles and doubles (high, low and in between) at various speeds. I also like to emphasize, or play only with the left hand, ...cause its my weaker side, and you can only go as fast or as smoothe as your weaker hand will allow.

  • Good way to risk damaging your wrists (tendons and ligaments) and tear muscle [very tiny tears] if you twist and go too far, or, if you're not very flexible and tend to be stiff in the wrist (like me).

Like anything else...gotta be careful. No need to be in a hurry to get injured.

  • worng infomation, you should play for a little while before you strech, just like when u play sport. think about it , if you stretch ur muscles when cold they will tighten up when u stop stretching due to lack of blood and heat. if you play for 5 mins then strech your muscle will have a higher elastic quality. but good stretches

  • thank you, very good video !!!! :)

    This helped me a lot.
