It was an ending that was not included on European versions. It's known as the American ending. Personally I think the movie could do without it.

Yea I looked at the dvd extras and it had that in it.... I don't like it.... I think the european ending is better because you get to use your imagination plus this cheesy american ending makes the scene in the field at the end seem less significant.

This scene shown is the alternative (or American) ending. In EU and AU the ending is Mr. Bennet laughing.

Try the extras on the DVD, and in there is the alternate ending :)
