I like Daylight Dies but I enjoy Funeral Doom much better. Still an incredible band, DD was my FIRST metal concert also, as well as Swallow the Sun.

This is my fave DD song. Since seeing them several years ago I have become friends of the band. I hung out with Jesse a little while ago when they were about to promote their new album. He was asking me what songs the should play. I told him this was my favorite song of theirs. 6 months passed and they were opening up for another band, but they played this song. After the show Jesse told me they wanted to play all new songs, but they played this song for me. How fucking cool is that? Love them.

to late for that... =( their newer albums incorporate cheezy clean vocals and slower tempo... =( they need to speed things up again imo... still their newer albums are better then most stuff out there... but I miss the good ol idle days...

I didn't said anything about the new Daylight Dies album, I just said that dooms much better when it's actual slow and the listener can hear the emotion that's brought thorough music, rather then doing something mid-paced that in my opinion (I'm pretty sure many will agree with me anyway) destroys the atmosphere of something.

I listen to a LOT of slow doom, my dying bride, old theatre of tragedy, draconian, skepticism, evoken forest of shadows etc... but I prefer mid peaced stuff old daylight dies, katatonia etc... becouse it's both raw emotion and agression and energy at the same time wheres slow doom is mostlly emotion and not so agressive..... but like I said to each his own I was just stating my oppinion that I miss the more gothenburg death influenced doom that dd used to make.....

My hard drive recently took a shit, and I am out roughly 200 gigs of the greatest doom metal I hav ever heard. Would you have either a good site to get these from (almost all of the torrents I find are dead) or would you be able to load these bands onto a tracker?

@invertedteapot I know how you feel man. I only had 88 gigs of metal of all sorts on my 100 giger when it decided to take a shit on me yesterday or the day before. Thankfully Mediamonkey allows you to export a list of what you had so I can at the very least hunt for it if I can't fix or recover my music heh

Daylight Dies.. an underated band, they are by far the best doom metal band, Luv:katatonia, saturnus, rapture, mar de grises, swallow, november, etc .. BUT Daylight is Daylight Dies.
