Have you lost the concept of the word "easy"? lol. Very smart but dang, I can't follow, I can understand basic stuff, maybe I'm just distracted by Family Guy in the backround lol.
Very good friend, I am from Brazil and I really enjoyed your explanation, but I have a question that until now could not figure out. How can I do to copy multiple files at once via the host with the netcat? one file at a time I can.
@Exdozolie Backtrack runs as root by default. Many of the applications in comes with need root privileges to run properly. Backtrack is intended for computer security experts. The intended users should know what they are doing. But yea you don't normally want to run as root. I only ever run as root when using backtrack.
Netcat runs on windows u bitch ..n yeh i use backtrack 4 blackhat edition....so i guess u need to educate urslf rather than just "googling" and showing off...
Wow no one makes a basic tut on how to get shells or how to use it at all they just directly to the crap where only people who are computer whizzes and now how to use them only get to its stupid no one wants to give a basic tutorial and also im irrtated at the fact that everyone does not give you the god damn tutorial on how to make shells. And 1 more thing about my rant no one wants to teach how to use it on windows xp or anything because when i try to use it, it says nc is not a oper. comman
@draftpunkfreak Hes using Backtrack 4 not Windows XP, dumbass. Netcat is not supported in Windows. Get yourself an education. Start by Googling "Backtrack 4".
@schm3rz Well thank you for the information Smartass But that does not really give you a reason to call be a dumbass i am a begginer not a Whiz who forgot i have some advice STOP TROLLING
@draftpunkfreak He's not trolling, nor are you very smart. Hacking is not something you can learn over the weekend, it takes years of pratice before you become a true hacker. Plus, the name hacker was actually taken by the good ol' open-source developers long before this started. Plus, NetCat is not hard to learn, plus there are 30MB Linux Distros, try out SliTaz, its great, download a tarball and learn how to use it properly.
@DannyDethTheOriginal That comment was old i know how to use it well now stop wasting your energy by typing i mean srsly its like 6 months old it's obvious i learned how to use it.......
I did this file transfer trick with an mp3 file. Worked great. Now I just need to figure out how to transfer whole folders worth of files. Although for that I am sure there are better things than netcat.
If the computer is idle, you could probably install some sort of ftp software, or just start opening doors for yourself so you could pipe files through ssh.
How did you get a graphical kernel? I have Backtrack 4 Pre Release and I can only boot to a terminal and not the gui that you have. How do you get a graphical desktop?
To start wireless networking in a terminal type: 'which wicd' ..to find the path of wicd then type the path in full: ' sudo /PATH/TO/wicd ..then in the internet menu go to wicd network manager and choose your network..under advanced type you passkey at bottom....
Not to sound like an ass. But, if you don't know how to start up the GUI from the terminal, you need to learn more about linux. I recommend using linux as your primary OS for at least a year before you play around with backtrack. It will make things go much smoother and with less headaches. I highly recommend ubuntu, which is what I use on my desktop.
@purplemutantas 100% agree except recommended ubuntu , im recomended the dad of ubuntu; debian .. why because dont have the sudo command , in ubuntu i can tipping sudo passwd root and change the password of root like a normal user xD
How do you get net cat running on a Windows machine, i tryed with different VM and installed a Linux but i can only boot one system @ time so i got a problem , i CAN'T get netcat running! pls help me.
I really liked this, it has a lot of potential and can be fun to mess around with. I can't wait to see what else Darren brings to the table with using NC
Awesome!

Hacking a fucking myspace emails is kid's stuff. Hacking security hardened servers is what matters.
