From your review, I would say you should remove those bonus points since that 3.5mm jack is recessed in a way that many headphones will not fit without an adapter anyway, thus making it no better than the Magic. Having owned (a now dead) 1st gen iPhone I had to buy an adapter to use my headphones. Once again looking for a new phone so comparing 3GS vs Magic.
and it also has a better camera compared to apple iphone...this is 3.2 mega pixels,it's got accelerometer and much more stuff apple are still thinking of adding to the iphone upgrade....3.0 beta.
if the G1 gets the cupcake update...then it will surely be better than the HTC Magic....regardless of ugliness on the G1, the G1 would still be superior w/ the cupcake update
but I would still probably buy the Magic when it comes to the States
compare them side by side ......start from the basic things like sms, video rec, i'm pretty sure if this phone comes to america, we are going to see developers falling over each other to make gamesand apps for this machine just like the iphone or even better cos it's open source...the touch screen quality is as good a iphone so what else?
on the other side the Apple made a device which is easy to use, my mom who never uses devices could use everything on the iphone as it is.. everything is logically placed in it. thats what makes it good.
I think the Android will be more for power users.. Im very interested in the Android as well.. even though I still wish they will implement the multitouch capabilities in Android because I enjoy it on the iPhone with several programs

You do realize the iPhone 3G and 3GS have regular 3.5mm headphone jacks, right?

each device has its good and bad things.. if you own an iPhone you could be very satisfied with it after jailbreaking it and patching it etc.
