@apanno65 I think the ones in Pikmin 2 were younger, which is why they were easier. There are also more, so they can't make it ridiculously hard.

I'm quite sure people are aware of it, but you CAN beat this boss without losing any pikmin, especially the bomb-wielding yellow. You just have to blow the yelow back right as the Emperor Bulblax begins to attack.

Lol, I beat this boss with only two pikmin. All my others just totally got obliterated and I only had two yellows left so I took a chance and threw them at its head countless times, and I ended up beating it in like 20 minutes. XD

Did you know that the arena where bulblax is in is the landing area for the wistful wild in pikmin 2? And you can see the landing area of the final trial too. It's basically the same stage except you land in a drifferent area and there's no super hard boss and it's autumn

There's a way for you to defeat this beast without suiciding yellow pikmin:

Throw the pikmin with the bombs at the beast, the pikmin will then throw the bomb rock at the beast, the beast would eat it and the pikmin will run back to you.

But it sometimes doesn't work

If you're playing on a gamecube, use the c-stick to bring your pikmin closer to you. You'll throw 'em faster.

You need to beat him to get the best ending, but u can still leave the planet without the last part...

You don´t need to sacrifice so many yellows, just call him back right before he throw his tongue, He will eat the bomb and become confused for longer. You can kill it without losing a single pikmin!

It works better if you don't let the yellow get eaten... do everything exactly the same, except call the yellow back after you dismiss it. It'll either throw the bomb into the mouth, or drop it and run.. This way makes it stunned longer, and you don't (hopefully) lose any pikmin.
