  • Holy crap! That's incredible! I love how much thought's gone into matching the visuals with the lyrics, as well as some of the in-gags and puns along the way.

    So... Milliontown next? ;-)

  • I love this song so much!

  • Aww man you should re-publish these on LBP2 & connect them via level links :)

  • @FusionBreeze yes. they should!

this is amazing man! my favorite band since milliontown, too bad the level of detail is too high to publish as one level >.< nice work! i shall mention it to their new drummer, if he doesnt know already, i'm lucky enough to be one of his students lol ;-)

  • @drummer4thefreaks Thanks man. I don't know if Blunders has seen it...if he did his homework before getting the gig then I hope he has! Say "hi from Pedro" for me when you see him. You're learning from one of the best.

Take care and thanks for commenting.

  • Thanks for that. Frost* (the band) love it - but getting permission from Sony/MediaMolecule to use it in an official promotional thing is a different matter.

  • They should make this, the official video clip. Seriously. No, look at me......Seriously...

  • i pick up on a few more really clever jokes every time i watch this. just noticed "Cell Yaw Stocking Cello Side" as the first "Sell your stock in Jealouscide" goes by and "Car Pet Hides(as in animal hides) the Gilt E Duster" and then on to the scale for "Weigh" for "Carpet hides the guilty dust away"

very clever, very nice work! i'm quite sure i haven't discovered all of the goodies yet. i'm impressed with how much Frost* goodness you packed in!

  • @furiouscake LOL Thanks so much for that. I love it when people spot the Frost*ie details in there. When I'd finished it I listed all the Frost*ies "in" jokes/references in a blog - it took a while! All the best. Pedro

  • whats the levels name

  • @MrT808T Sorry, it's not a playable level - waay to big (several thermometers full) and waay too "unfriendly" for players. Thanks for commenting though. :o) Can't wait to see what LBP2 can do like this.

  • o_o

  • Holy....

  • I Cant Believe Media Molecule hasn't hired this guy yet!

  • @andybubble LOL Thanks.

The mirror is actually just a round hole in the thin plane. I had two identical SackBoys and ran them past the hole at the same time. A sneaky edit at the end of the run back again covers the switch of costume for the pumpkin-head in the "mirror".

Thanks for commenting - can't wait for LBP2!

  • @waitepb same

  • how did u make mirror bril vid

  • Oh.My.God.That.Was.Ahhh-maazziinnggggg!!!lol:)

  • Absolutely incredible. The attention to detail is astounding. I never favorite videos; this will be my first and only.

  • @Parallevis I'm honoured indeed - thanks for commenting. :o)

  • is this a real lvl? cuz if it is that would be awesome! :DD

  • @cassybug1 Hi, sorry for the delay in replying. No, it's not playable. It's actually several separate bits and I didn't make any of it "safe" so it's really too easy to die and get stuck. Sorry. Next time. :o)

  • @waitepb hahahahah thats ok :P

  • is this a real lvl? O_O

  • Like the video! Love Frost*. What a group!

  • Congratulations to whoever did this. It's the most epic vid I've seen in a while, should be an official video if it isn't. XD

  • @SevenIHL Thanks very much for that. It's amazing to me that it is almost 2 years to the day from when I first started the project. I'm really looking forward to Little Big Planet 2 - the potential to make something amazing is immense. Now, if I could just win the lottery and give up the day job! :o)

  • this is amazingly awesome. i dont think i have neither the skill or patience to do something like this

  • @HaileyHeartsU Thanks very much. I am beginning to wonder how I found the time(!). I have wnated to do a few more since that one but I just can't find the time now...real life doesn't half get in the way!! :o)

  • how did you do the keyboard bit? and the guitar?

  • @nationofcreationclan Thanks for commenting.

The guitarist (John Mitchell) is just a collection of bits bolted together with the right materials where friction was a problem (e.g. glass guitar neck) and careful placement of linkages etc. He started life much bigger & moved even more convincingly (more in time with the solo, correct fretting, etc)...then I realised the camera couldn't fit him in! D'oh! So I had to scale right down and make some compromises to get it to still move at all....

  • @nationofcreationclan ...I got the shapes right by making photo stickers of the component parts (guitar body, neck etc.) stamping them onto blocks of material and then cutting away the excess. It is roughly a scale replica of a Cort guitar, the brand favoured by John.

As for the keyboard, it is actually a fully working player piano! The "punch card" behind the keys has hidden proximity switches on it that trigger each key and a sound item that is set to play the right note. I worked out...

  • @nationofcreationclan ...how to play the solo on a real keyboard, positioned the proximity switches on the "punch card" and got the vertical speed of the card right (which proved tricky due to the accelleration effects) so that the actual thing played the right tune in time with the music(!). Then all I had to do was run SackBoy over the keys at the right time, avoiding him landing on a key that would launch him into the air! It took hours but I think it was worth it. :o)

  • This is an AMAZING music video!!! GREAT JOB!!! But one thing, how did you do this part? 1:40

  • @legogo100 Hi, Thanks for commenting, really appreciate it. :o)

It's all done with beer and mirrors!

Actually, if you mean the "mirror" bit, it's actually a hole in the thin plane and I controlled two identically "dressed" sackboys for the run past and back. Then I cut to a second clip with the back sackboy dressed as pumpkin-head. Thanks to the synced animation of sackboys and the repeatable camera motion, it worked like a charm. :o)

  • @waitepb cool!

  • I forgot to subscribe!

  • how many times did you practise? lol

  • @Bobinti LOL Loads of times! It was just too easy to die or miss a grab or forget to change expressions... I lost count of the number of re-takes for some bits of it! :o)

    Thanks for commenting.

  • Lol @ Police Box XD 2:40

  • @Sybrew its the tardis

  • This is the video that introduced me to Frost. I can't think about them without thinking about this. Thanks.

  • @ShadowGlove84 They love it! :o)

  • Someone sent me a link to this vid a while back because of Little Big Planet.

It is brilliantly done, but also it was the first time I'd ever heard of Frost*. The song stuck in my mind for an age before I found it again and looked up the album on Spotify. Now I just can't get enough of this amazing band.

So thanks for an awesome vid and for introducing me to Frost*, one of the best bands I've heard in the many years.

  • Every single time I watch this video I am utterly blown away by how incredibly smart and subtle it is. A work of fecking art - its as if Einstein was a lift-operator... genius on every level.

You should be knighted dear chap!

  • that were the best 3 minutes and 48 seconds in the whole historie of youtube :D

  • i really like it i wish i could play it too D:

  • Best... Video... EVER!!! Did Frost actually buy this video or anything?

  • @LeftNutBrent Thanks! No, I just made it as a gift to the band and to the fans, all of whom are good people. :o)

    Glad you liked it.

  • is this lvl in the coumting

  • can i add you i lbp

  • can i play it

  • @ianmario809 Sorry, no, this is not a playable level. The video was cut together from a number of fairly full thermometers-worth of stuff. All of it was very unsuitable for "playing" with death or deadlock very close if you stray off the "happy path".

    Thanks for the comments. :o)

  • mega fed bane;D men hvad hedder den..?

  • @nicemomo093 I have no idea what that means, but thatnks for commenting. ;o)

  • I remember favouriting this video after reading about it in Official Playstation Magazine. They were in awe of how brilliant this level was, and i'm sure they still are - just like I am.

  • Simply one word wow!!!

  • WoW!! This is the best LittleBig musicVideo i ever seen!! If i knew you'r PS3 name i would harted you in LittleBig.

  • both an excellent looking

    level and video

I certainly couldn't get it back in the bottle!

  • @waitepb wow you are really by doing this level.I wish I can do levels like this........

  • Pedro you're a genie -arse :D

  • Cleanliness is next to Godfreyness! Genius! I've seen this at least 20 times and I notice something new everytime I watch it....I know, I'm a little slow

  • I don't like hobbits.

  • i love the editing! so cool!

  • really cool video and also im your 30,000 thousand viewer for this video lol XD

  • @Arnald23 Yay! Thanks for the comment and congratulations!

  • The Movie Is SOOOOOOOOOOOO AWSOME

  • Awesome Video - I love it !!!

  • Awsome video!!!

  • I like how you slipped a few other Frost* song titles in there (Pocket Sun, Milliontown, etc.)

  • you deserve a crown for this

  • Thanks very much.

I had hoped for a nomination in the recent 'Sackies' awards but it didn't happen :o( but I did get a crown and I was in one of the PS magazines last year so I can't really complain. :o)

    Thanks again.

  • Vidoe was just AWESOME!!!

    I rest my case...

  • I bought the song because of this vid lol

  • This should be the official Frost music video for Toys ^^

  • Whoa man! This level is AWESOME. Do you have a PSN? I mean is this level uploaded? I wannah play it :)

  • Thanks for the comments.

Sorry, no, it's not uploaded as a playable level - it's rather large and spread over a few pretty full thermometers plus it's waaay to easy to die cos it wasn't designed to be played.

Glad you like it though. :o)

  • 2:47 was amazing

  • That was simply smashing! <333 I loved the Mirror part. :3

  • SO AWESOME !!!!!!! I LOVE THE WAY YOU USED CAMERAS AND THAT MIRROR

  • buenisimo video, incluido el tema tambien

  • ¿que canción es esta?

  • The song is called "Toys" by a band called "Frost*". Check them out - they are great.

  • This is a work of art. Love it. It inspired me to create a Little Big Planet level called 'The Tube- London Underground Train'

Check it out on LBP, I have a video of it on my skyway73 channel here too.

  • Is This A lvl On PSN? It Rocks!

  • Hobnobs are awesome!

  • looks cool

  • love the music

  • wow mint leval but i was just wondering how do yo get all of them pictures on that leal of the biscuits and all of that?

  • Hi, thanks for the comment.

I used the EyeToy camera (the old manual focus camera from the PS2 days which is strangely much better than the newer higher-res PS3 camera) to create photo stickers in the game. It's a bit tricky to get them lined-up properly but with practice you can get some pretty good results.

  • Thanks for commenting. :o)

It was all done using Little Big Planet on Playstation3. Players are intended to make their own game levels...I realised I could turn it to something a bit different. :o)

  • =o. How did you make that!

  • Very Cool video- I think i'll buy the album now!!

  • I never tire of watching this vid.

    10/10

  • That midi piano roll was GENIUS. And the 'future crimes' headline was pure class!

  • This is the best fan made video I've ever seen.

  • Thanks very much for the great comments. Makes me want to do another one!

  • Do it. This video enhances the song to such an extent. Maybe try it with a Dream Theater song. =)

  • idk anything about this band or music but cool level dude 10/10

  • 2:48 <-- awesome!

  • awsome video man, THATS SICK!

  • WOW AMAZING LEVEL

  • awesome level!

  • savage cabbage!

  • Wow!... :-P

  • that was actually very good

  • Thank you and thanks for commenting. It's so cool that people are still discovering this. :o)

  • I love the "bridge collapsed in 7/8 pieces"... very clever :-P

  • Try my levels; Alien Lanes Bowling Challenge and Coney Island Theme Park. They are under the creater Phantasm Dusk.

And to "laxlvr1494", yes the TARDIS is Dr. Who's "thing" :).

  • is the TARDIS the doctor who thing?

  • yes it is ^-^

  • Yep, songwriter Jem Godfrey has an actual Tardis (set prop) in his garden hence the reference to that. There is an awful lot of very very fine detail in this video which probably only Frost forum members might pick up. But... what about the song, do you like it?

  • Great song and amazing level design, especially the guitarist!

  • You are very talented at LBP level creation, I love how you foreshadow everything that happens with the newsflashes. Do you have a PSN with other levels of this quality? I would love to play them.

  • I know! Yay for Frost* and the TARDIS ^-^

  • lol great vid. i love how they stuck the TARDIS in there. ^_~

  • Awesome video :D

  • lol... the blue police box!

    The Doctor Rules!

  • so cute :)

  • Holy smoke, this video is AMAZING! Certainly does the song justice. Which is quite an achievement, I'd say...

  • Awesome pedro, plus a TARDIS makes this twice as awesome :)

  • Friday 12th June, Frost and Dream Theater at Leeds Academy! Its gonna be good.

  • Amazing, very well made level(s) and nicely synced with the music ^^

  • How do i play this level?

  • you can't its more than one level.

  • I knew about this vid/level from the PLAYSTATION magazine - UK.

    Pretty fuckin' awesome.

  • Definitely one of the coolest videos paired with the coolest songs I've ever seen.

  • can't wait to watch them support dream theater on june the 12th!

  • thast crazy!

    wow

    LBP rocks!

    awesome vid :)

  • That was incredible!

  • hexa great vid. love it

  • the article in Official Playstation Magazine is what got me into the band, so you, through this video have got this incredible band a new fan. continue to spead the word!

  • like these? check out Dream theater!

  • i got into dream theater before frost*, another great band, thanks for the recommendation. If you havnt already i would recommend Porcupine tree. english prog in a similar vein as frost*.

  • yeah i am a massive fan of porcupine tree.If your into them then your propaly into muse? cos they rock too =D

  • no way!!! i love muse but not as much as porcupine tree, i went to a steven wilson signing for his solo album "insurgentes" in bristol :)

  • Dang, this must've taken ages to make, I can't even make anything yet O_O I just gave up after doing the tutorials and giving a lame attempt. :P

  • I wish I could go to Leeds but I live in America. The Who played at Leeds and made what could be the best live album of all time. ^_^ I am a rock fan but they have some good pop songs but Toys is amazing. Could they play in Massachusetts?

  • This is absolutely amazing!! good job

  • awesome.

  • Did the band comment on this yet?

Im sure they will be very impressed

  • Yes, the band all like it. Thanks for commenting. :o)

  • Congrats on being featured in OPM :)

  • omg thats awesome!!! :O

  • where did you get hobnobs? lol

  • Little Biscuit Purveyors! :o)

  • How do u know so much about the band? Are you a member of it. Thanks for showing me this band. Great song. I want to buy it.

  • Hi,

LOL - no, I'm not in the band, wish I was that good! I found out about them when their first CD "Milliontown" came out in 2006 and I signed up to the forum straight away. The guys in the band are top chaps and more accessible than many others. I ended up becoming a moderator of the forum (cos I was there all the time!) so I've picked up a lot of stuff. They're great live too - if you get the chance - supporting Dream Theater in Leeds June 12th and Southampton June 13th.

    Glad you liked it.

  • ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! good work fella
