I remember this concert. I think it was held at Karachi Gymkhana. My family parked their car in an adjacent parking lot and listened to him while I was bored out of mind! I was 10 or 11 then. Didn't know I was listening to what will be a glorious annal in the musical history of the Indian subcontinent.
this video is just to much.. from beginning to end i can't watch it without tearing up badly, Nusrat's broken voice echoing his end and Rahat in the background backing him up with the youthfulness in his voice.
Nusrat did not seem to compromise on putting a poor show at the expense of health, he gave his 100%.
greatest sufi singer that ever lived and a great musician,,,for all the world that he belonged not to one country..just like Muhammad Rafi or Kishore Kumar or Mehdi Hassan.
hmm...i think this was the last days of ustad nusrat.....he is not moving his left hand....and you can see his face....full of illness....and this was the solo performance....but rahat was helping nusrat because he was not able to sing full song...
For "Nusrat fateh ali khan" their is no as close as him in the singing. we can not explain his level of high command and control in singing. My wish was to met him and Kiss him on his hand with great respect and as a true fan of him. May Allah swt give him jinnah Aman.
This is such a beautiful song - but I can't find a dcent recording of it - surely it must be on an alubm somewhere?? All the live versions on this site are dreadfull quality! Shame.

i think is unfair to compare maestros of different caliber's Ustad nusrat fateh ali khan ji is of one gharana, house of music, while anup ji is of another.... but both are exuberant vocalists
I feel blessed to have sat next to him while he sang live in NY...i think it was 1994. I was only 12 but I remember the POWER in his voice...Ya Khuda kyun???? Why did he pass away so early?
did u know that after he died his wife had a dream she saw him but she saw his tongue moving around his face this was because allah had punished because he sang songs for bollywood and indian films thats what he told his wife in her dream and then she told people in birmingham not to buy any of his cds or cassetes because they are wrong
Search Pyar Nahi Karna this is one of the greatest song by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, but unfortunately he never made its video, but now it is uploaded on youtube, just listen this song once, you will become FAN of this song too.

Good die young...he wasn't even 50 yet.
