  • I remember this concert. I think it was held at Karachi Gymkhana. My family parked their car in an adjacent parking lot and listened to him while I was bored out of mind! I was 10 or 11 then. Didn't know I was listening to what will be a glorious annal in the musical history of the Indian subcontinent.

  • @ravezjunejo asshole.......... indian subcontinent doesnt exist..!! its PAKISTAN..!! stupid dickhead...

  • he was sik mn may he rest in peace love him

  • this video is just to much.. from beginning to end i can't watch it without tearing up badly, Nusrat's broken voice echoing his end and Rahat in the background backing him up with the youthfulness in his voice.

Nusrat did not seem to compromise on putting a poor show at the expense of health, he gave his 100%.

  • Nusrat lives in the hearts of asians. His songs are filled with emotions. We get all involved when we hear his melodious voice. REALLY WE MISS HIM!

  • hmm...i think this was the last days of ustad nusrat.....he is not moving his left hand....and you can see his face....full of illness....and this was the solo performance....but rahat was helping nusrat because he was not able to sing full song...

  • this song put tears in my eyes

  • true sanu ek pal chain na aavey na away NUSRAT tere bina

  • mare bande ch jaan paunda............baba nusrat

  • This is like meeting with your soul this is greatness of sufi singing you feel so real and close to god

  • For "Nusrat fateh ali khan" their is no as close as him in the singing. we can not explain his level of high command and control in singing. My wish was to met him and Kiss him on his hand with great respect and as a true fan of him. May Allah swt give him jinnah Aman.

  • He was and is legend of music. A great sufi singer with artistic flavor of music. No match of Nusrat in this world. May God place his soul in Jannah.

  • superb

  • who is the other voice who comes in at 2:34??? Even Nusrat's reaction to it is utter bliss!! They're amazing...

P.S. Why can't we just criticize him based on what he gave the world? He wasn't famous for his lifestyle, drinker or not! just appreciate his mastery

  • at 2.34 is rahat fateh ali khan. this is the guy making waves now a days with songs like mann ki lagan and jiya dhdak dhadak

  • at 2:34 is rahat fateh ali khan, his successor & now on his way to becoming a legend

  • Definately the Ustad of Qawal...May his soul rest in Peace

  • hey guys was this his last performance??

  • yes it is so sad for me to watch it. I wish he was here with us today.

  • Yes He is Ill.

  • he used to drink?? never heard of that before..

  • God knows. People like to accuse even dead people sadly enough.

  • Nusrat is way superior to Anup Jalota.

  • i think is unfair to compare maestros of different caliber's Ustad nusrat fateh ali khan ji is of one gharana, house of music, while anup ji is of another.... but both are exuberant vocalists

  • I feel blessed to have sat next to him while he sang live in NY...i think it was 1994. I was only 12 but I remember the POWER in his voice...Ya Khuda kyun???? Why did he pass away so early?

  • swan son, why ??

  • Search Pyar Nahi Karna this is one of the greatest song by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, but unfortunately he never made its video, but now it is uploaded on youtube, just listen this song once, you will become FAN of this song too.

  • This is a righteous scene. Is there ever disagreement over sacred versus secular venue in Qawwali?

  • For this man i love Asia and its Culture

  • sanu ik pal chain na awae Nusrat bina ...

  • Will Smith is not but Khan Saab you are LEGEND,,,

    THUMBS UP !!!

  • Swan Song - Sano Ik Pal Chain

  • Well this is an iconic great version of this song.Well I did shake his hands when he wasn't a mega star then but did get worried about his later direction especially the naff sordid love songs and did think he wasn't gonna last too long! Read Sura Ikhlas for him.

Where is the love for our fellow people gone? Lets unite in music!!! What a Voice, Musician, and Composer!!! Bring out the Love in people. XXX

  • what the hell if he was from Mars hes a great singer. Why cant we be sensible and love all human beings and good music.Religion and politics has nothing to do with arts for Gods sakes.Nusrat Fateh Ali was for the world not for any country or religion

  • What a gr8 singer he was!!!!

  • there is still is not a singer in the whole indian subcontinet to match ustad nusrat fateh ali khan

  • I think this was his last concert in Londons royal albert hall? He looks ill in this and is not moving his left arm.

  • So I think its better 4 us to become a UNITED nation instead of fighting wid each other. If we dont stop these clashes now I'm affraid ONe day We will loose our SWEET LAND (May Allah Bless PAKISTAN.AMEEN) & our enemiez are waiting 4 dis time.

    MALAYSIA

  • baljeet yar- your comments r so true....thanx for saying what i wanted to say...

  • he looks so frail and truly nearing the end of his remarkable life but his voice shows no sign of deteriation. r.i.p

  • one of my most favorite,

  • Totally Spechless..no words ..awesome

  • People here have the audacity to comment on Nusrat...wow!!! I think we r too negligible and inferior even to comment on him ..be happy we were born during the time when we can listen to him.

  • totally agree with you, his music is on a higher level for us to commento on, we can be grateful to be able to hear him (even on bad recording) and be taken by this music, this group of men creating something of high beauty

  • fuck!

can you imagine the atmosphere when he sang?

    simply amazing!

  • Continue

I don't know why we don't take care of the gift is given to us on time, Why his surroundings did not take care of his treatment on time. This is the lost for the world. This kind of gift we have very rear, may be in a century. As we can mention about Mozart, but that was not in our life time. Good thing is we have his so many songs. In which he is alive. It is him.

  • The spiritual touch I feel in me when I listens his music, which simply is not possible to express in writing. I don't care which religion he is from, but the spirit with in him, and in his song is from the root of all spirituals sources.

  • He will never be forgetable. we miss u khan sahib

  • what i'll say about him?

  • I am so speechless to comment on it.

  • AMAZING, MY FAVORITE SINGER EVER!!!

  • Wonderful! Amazing! Fascinating!

  • beautiful song, horrid music, especially this one being one of my fav(original of course)

  • @NAAZALI i agree

  • Nusrat was a great singer, but his penchant for westernizing his music and thereby demeaning his original roots is sad---blame it on his own people and other insensitive promoters like Peter Gabriel. This song is prime example---the original version, sung with just harmonium and tabla, is divine. This is jazzy, but impersonal--note western glissandos and strumming that have no place in a naat or qwalli. Sorry, Nusrat, you should have stuck to your upbringing. Still enjoyable in a way, though.

  • I completely disagree. He brought qawaali and pakistani sufi poetry to a whole new world and generation. If it wasnt for him he would have only been loved by our part of the world but his experimentation and spirit conquered the whole world. Any one who knows remotely about sufism, qawalli knows that nusrat fateh ali khan was the un disputed king of qawalli. He did for pakistani qawalli what mozzart did for westren music.

  • Nusrat is not, was not, will not be limited to only qwalli. Even so, he took qwalli in to new era of music.

This is phenomenal, and Nusrat's song spirit, creativity is beyond our knowledge of any religion.

  • Actually the first time I ever heard about/listened Nusrat and his group was when Peter Gabriel was on Radio 1 in the 80's when Nusrat had done WOMAD and they played a clip of the session. Roots have different branches and leaves but it was Bollywood which actually dented his reputation. This is a great modern song and will always will be.

  • There can be no better expression of the feeling of separation felt by love ones

  • He will never be forgetable.

  • God love him, he must have felt so bad towards the end of his life, but he kept going. Rest in peace.

  • Good die young...he wasn't even 50 yet.

He has left us all an amazing priceless gift to enjoy as long as we are on this earth, may his soul rest in eternal peace.
