This was great. It crossed all of the lines we fear to cross.. traditional and contemporary, using rap music with "religious" music, and the color line. Thank you this is real ministry and we all need that.

It is proper to call this a remix. The original song has its reasons for the simple wording. There ARE no other words than the desperate, hungry plea for more of the power of the Spirit.
I feel that this remix takes it in a slightly different direction, personally. What's important, though, is that you've got the youth group involved. That is, as long as they don't use this to live out rock star fantasies. (I don't think that's a problem here, though.)

Who are you to judge your Lord's servants? The apostle Paul was very modern in his time. Check out Acts when he witnesses in Athens and uses the philosophy of the world against the philosophers. Impressive. I play with a local church, and as more of a musician than a "worship" leader, I always find myself frustrated by the lack of musical strength in Christian music. Yes, preaching to the youth though the arts will draw them to the church. I would even say that the reason the church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ has lost ground because we were unwilling to engage our culture in the arts, academia, even politics. The gospel of Jesus Christ is relevant today and needed more than ever. Our faith must always remain rooted in the truth of God's Word, and the people of God must be able to preach the gospel in a way people can relate to.
P.S. I'm still praying that God lays it on your heart to use your gift of rap for His glory, and to do spiritual battle on the battlefield of the heart and minds of youth. We need more people on the frontlines of this fight. Remember, the devil can't create a thing: art, music, or dance. He can only pervert it, and it is in the heart's of men that these distortions originate. If our hearts are indeed redeemed, its time to start taking back for God, the things the devil hopes to destroy.

I used to love rap before I came to God. but after God had brought my spirit to life. After He gave me His holy peace into my heart and His love toward His church and toward Bible ,
I understood inside of my spirit that rap music is not of God, and rock also. It doesn't matter if they sing about Jesus. Because demons worshiped JESUS also!!! They worshiped Him calling Him You are the Son of God. They tremble before His name. They fear Him more then we do sometimes

Yes, preaching to the youth though the arts will draw them to the church. I would even say that the reason the church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ has lost ground because we were unwilling to engage our culture in the arts, academia, even politics. The gospel of Jesus Christ is relevant today and needed more than ever. Our faith must always remain rooted in the truth of God's Word, and the people of God must be able to preach the gospel in a way people can relate to.
