  • This video isn't long enough!! I wish there were more Croce home movies on the web!

  • I'm not into home movies but i could watch this a thousand times..if you know the history and you don't get a tear than you have no soul.

  • hangover lift scene made me fall in love with this song

  • @chucky85261 me to

  • words cant explain

  • This video... Jim Croce's son was extremely young when Mr. Croce passed away. This song and video say exactly what he must have been thinking, that he was not able to spend time with his father like he would have if he had not had him taken away.

  • Mr. Chow rocked this!

  • Can someone tell me where this video originates from . I saw it many years ago on TV in Australia and have never been able to find it? Help would be greatly appreciated thanks

  • has to be one of the greatest songs ever- describing the human condition/experience of loving/wanting to love someone. I can't hear/see this without balling my eyes out. Anyone else have the same experience?

  • Im not even going to pretend like Hangover 2 didn't bring me here

  • Mr. Chow from Hangover 2 bought me here! Lol

  • This song isn't really 'sad' though. It's a very intimate and progressive song because it plays on minors and majors in the melodies. The thing is talking about how much it could be sad, but then he did get to spend time with that person, etc. It's almost the very root of emo love songs lol. Love this tune. Plan to cover it when I get my baritone guitar in a couple months.

  • This song is so beautiful and sad. When I feel down and depressed I listen to this song and just wallow in my sadness awhile. It makes me reflect on my life what is and what could have been.

  • He could have written this song for both his wife and son. Love is love. He left a legacy of songs that are timeless and he is one of the best singer-songwriters in history.

  • i forgot how unhappy i was. and then i found this song to remind me.

  • A beautiful and touching song...

  • can anyone compare these amazing amazing song with todayz craps?? beautiful ppl r all going away..

  • yea the movie brought me here but i don't really care because i now know about this awesome song :P

  • Musically and lyrically this is one of the greatest songs of all time. RIP, Jim.

  • baby looks live chuck norris

  • I watched this with my 21-month-old son and he loved it. I always liked the song, but seeing Jim Croce with his little son really moved me.

  • I could imagine this being really powerful and appropriate for his funeral. Just the way I envision it in my head, since I wasn't even born yet.

  • "you're the one I wanna go through time with...."

  • He died at 30 ... poor thing

  • thanks to mr.chow i discovered this great artist. thanks you mr chow.

  • This song is just poetry in a song. I love it

  • Mr. Chow is fucking good man, really he brought all of us here to sing this original one, but being honest i would like to say Mr. chow's song is good then original.

  • Jim was with us for a time, and he gave great gifts. I am so lucky to live in his era.

  • Everybody is here because of Mr. Chow....

    lol....

  • @paulopras2010 not really buddy

  • @bri343 of course not buddy. I was just joking. The song, the lyric and the video are really very beautiful. Jim´s gift for music is simply amazing. This song is a lovely poem.

  • No movie brought me here :)

  • ohhhh, this was about a child? I always thought it was about a female

  • Jim's birthday brought me here.

  • I'm so happy to see younger people discover Jim's music! So thanks to the film makers who use his songs. I always find his music inspiring and comforting :) I've been listening to him for ages (believe me, lol). You might want to check out Harry Chapin's music too ;)

  • Me too. I really know the legendary folk-songwriter Jim Croce. Since, when I was 10 years old.

  • I knew about Jim Croce before I saw Hangout 2 B| #Hipster

  • soo waesoum i can play this song and ahhhh it sounds so beautiful

  • Tomorrow being the 38th Anniversary of the 2nd week this song was at #1 brought me here.

  • Just love JIm Croce, Such a shame his light was cut short. Thanks for the memories :)

  • This being a freaking awesome song brought me here.

  • As a black man knwing that Croce was a racist makes me conflicted. He lived during a great time and was very good musically. I wish no ill will on anyone but Allah has a way of righting the wrongs of those that hate people who look like me for no reason.

  • @TempeSoldier123 Alah Who?

  • @TempeSoldier123 Who is this fairtytale "Allah" of which you speak?

  • @TempeSoldier123 we live in America!!!! regardless if he was racist or not! people have their own right to be what they want to be! we cannot change that!

  • @yukons95 America, equallity for everyone except Gays, African Americans, and Indians. Ignorant way of looking my friend.

  • @TempeSoldier123 what made him a racist?

  • @TempeSoldier123 Don't mind the reactions of the fellow commenters. But you should keep those believes for yourselve man. Ofcourse it was bad of him. But still, only our god will judge us. Who are we to judge over them by saying it was god's intention? It's an easy stand of view, and many deaths and fights have come out of this way of thinking. Let's just give the better example! I've learned that lesson from 2pac :)

  • I found Jim Croce as a kid--my favorite song was Bad Bad Leroy Brown. I got his album and discovered I loved all his songs. Then I found out about the plane crash and couldn't believe life could be so cruel to take away such an amazing talent. If anyone put their heart and soul into their music, it was Jim Croce.

  • Thank you for this video of memories!

  • Jim Croce 1943-1973

His bottle was taken far too early.

  • im a international drug lord

  • I use to listen to this song when I was a kid but I nether knew who sung it, then I watched hangover 2 and I found out, I now have a 1 year old son and this song makes it so much special!!

Him and his dad had a ball together.

It's to bad he couldn't stay with his wife and child that long when he was a killed in a plane crash.

  • @kugenanki LOL Same here, Mr Chow did

  • @kugenanki Me too!!!!

  • @kugenanki me too! Mr. Chow's song!

  • @kugenanki My love of real music brought me here

  • At work and shedding a tear...I should probably step away from this video!

  • This is magical. This song is hard wired right into the primal parts of the brain that are represented in this song. I feel like the universe sang this to itself. I would take a few years off and give them to Jim if I could. Like that new movie that is coming out called, "In Time", coincidentally enough.

  • 30 years of age too fucking young

  • After watching this video, one of my initial thoughts was how much I miss the 70s when music like this was made. I remember waking up one morning during high school and hearing on the radio about Jim Croce's death. Very sad.

  • omg..

  • How do you think little Adrian Croce feels about having such a magnificent song like this dedicated to him? That's probably why he is a singer/songwriter like his dad was.

  • mr chow

  • we still do wear mustasch, or at least I do.

  • please tell me how can you dislike this

  • Borat's Father

  • Wonderful song. Good old days when dads wore mustaches. Ah, such nostalgia...

  • classic

  • I really do love this song and the man that sings it..... thank you Mr. Jim Croce!

  • My brother died in a motorcycle accident on Oct. 2007 at 30 years old. He looks very similiar to Jim Croce Son when he was little. My brother was born in 1977. So that hairstyle was still very poplular and when he turns around it just makes me cry! The song itself is very sad....and sums it up! But I really love it if I could get through the dam song without crying!

  • this video reminds me of the movie "the shining".....

  • ouch!

  • It's a shame is son intended up blind from a braim hemorage . SAD

  • @PureTeenageIgnorance It's a shame. At least you have a father that's alive.

  • @PureTeenageIgnorance SORRY to read your S% # T, Don't know the reasons behind it but in SOME cases it takes two to tango! While you still have the man still hear, don't live with the regret, when he passes that at least in your own heart you didn't try to fix the problem! and UNDERSTAND i'm not juding you.

  • @maurojselva ...You don't know shit.My ad hates me & I've never done anything to him. When I was little he beat me for the fuck of it.Speak what you know Faggot.Kill yourself.

  • @PureTeenageIgnorance from both sides of the argument its really harsh (IGNORING maurojselva atm)

  • Papa you passed in 1991, seem's like yesterday, MY HEART CRY'S FOR YOU, TI AMMO SEMPRE. ARIVADECCI, TILL WE MEET AGAIN !

  • seriously ever since i discovered this song i have been playing it everyday, it really makes me emotional

  • Thank you for sharing a GREAT MOMENT in his life with us! Love this one!

  • Thanks to this, I learned about his son A.J.'s similarly powerful music.

  • i cant wait to be a dad :' ]

  • @Iseenoevilx i waited a life time and it was worth it.

  • I bet this is really touching for his son. :(

  • Dedicated to my family, Anne,Paul, nicholas, Renee & my grandson Criuze

  • he was a man who was gone long before his time.

  • Makes me think of my sister. This was her favourite song. She has passed away at 36.

  • Me and My Ex-Wife's wedding song....God dammit I miss/hate her.....

  • @wahahn lol. no doubt, I'd like the comment twice if it'd let me.

  • Died way too soon.

  • i loved this song before the hangover...90's where real music was played and heard

  • good song hangover

  • I remember this from the TV movie "Romance on the Orient Express", with Cheryll Lad. A beautifull movie.

  • possibly one of the most beautiful songs ever made =)

  • he was obviously, a good dad

  • someone said he must have had a premonition...he recorded this about 3 weeks before he died in a plane crash. A great talent. A great loss.

  • @47Brenda47 He actually wrote this before his son was born (for his son)and it's on his first album"You Don't Mess Around with Jim". It was released as a single after he died but the song was about two years old then.

  • I've loved this song since I was a kid, so mid to late 70's. Way before the Hangover 2.

  • Just enjoy the music he left us.

  • en mi modesta opinion: la cancion pop mas bella que se ha escrito en la historia. ¿quien no querria guardar momentos del tiempo en una botella?

  • en mi modesta opinion: la cancion pop mas bella que se ha escrito en la historia.

  • aww this song is so sad and cute. makes me want to cry.

  • Old times song still planted in my memories. . I love it.

  • i live in that house now!

  • I first heard this song via the Muppet version when I was a kid!

  • I think it's crazy how so many kids come here to comment about how they heard of this classic from The Hangover. And its the same with Conway Twitty's Hello Darling. They only know of it because of Family Guy, lol. These guys were legends long before the TV shows.

  • @musclecarluvr1 But see here's the thing I'm 13 and I enjoy music like this. This modern day shit ain't got a meaning to it but the classics like this do

  • @RoboticNazi123 I wish other 13 yr olds would listen to you. You know great music.
