The Martian surface is colder than the Antarctic even though it's dusty and we all have the technology and they are 140% functional and the Russians will get there first!
If we all just worked together and stop fighting over oil,Religion,Race or whatever it might be? we as a Human Race could Achieve so much more and with all the help from different nations exploring space would not be a problem
@619badazz13 Well The radiation at the Mars surface is only 2 times higher than radiation at ISS orbit. So If we build a substantial atmosphere on Mars - the radiation would decrease about 40 ~ 50 %. And Is belived an artificial magnetic field can be build with the comming technology. Come on dude - You know well, science has no limits ;)
@PleasureTV ya how do we actualy know that ? i dont beleave a word what man says about mars or other planets intill they have first hand proof . theres never gona be no way of finding out because they will be killed trying to find out .
Dude If I was in charge of a mars mission, I'd have everyone jump on the surface at once. So everyone would argue for centuries, who stepped on mars first.
@wildalienplanet a mission to mars would be a ridiculous waste of our tax money. it should be funded by donations and not just taken out our pockets whether we like it or not. going to mars would do nothing for our society!
@nzer48 really its not. u dont have a long term vision of space habitation. imagine 100 trillion people in the solar system. then think real hard about a path from where we are to get to there. how does a "manned" mission to mars contribute anything that robotic missions cannot? why build a long-term publicly funded outpost? we need to stimulate the economy to offer privatized recreational and enterprise missions. still too narrow minded?
@lostintheapplasauce Ohh sure, spend about 60 trillion on a war in the middle east devoted to the destruction of human beings and and greed, not a bloody problem.Let the tax payer fork out for that,. Hail American avarice, but oh no, not science and technology, the final frontier, not enough blood. Lets as tax payers fund the 3% of the population that owns 90% of the wealth, the fuckin war mongers. What would you rather pay tax's for and be a part of? Yes still way too myopic.
Assuming they are at equatorial Mars overlooking the Valles Marineris, we'll assume Martian summer. A temperature probe on the ground might read 70 degrees F. But since the air is so thin, and doesn't hold heat very well, that same probe 5 feet off the ground might read 10 degrees F or less.
you dumb fuck....instantly assuming he's an American *lol* While I agree with you that it probably will be a joint effort that makes it there and not just a single nation, you can still take you're cultural views and drill them up your ass till you throw up shit.
like I said again, whether if it did happen or not ISN'T THE POINT. This is a sketch of what they THINK happened.
If you're just all out to prove something you feel you were guilty of misunderstanding, sorry you failed. You misunderstood, and you're trying to compensate by being 'on top'.
I think BBC did a great job on this video. I am still amazed in the accuracy portrayed by using real scientific data. I think they should make a sequel as soon as possible.
This is definitely real! How could you produce a red landscape if it wasn't real?
They must have sent a mission to Mars to do this - didn't Ronald Reagan want a US mission to Mars in the 1980's? This must be the footage they brought back. I knew there was somethin on the news about Mars last year.
some shots, you don't honestly thing they would carry a helicopter 65 million miles in a rocket that will have to be full with the equipment and food for the up to a year (or more) long voyage, just for a few nice shots that have obvouisly be directed.

We don't need a mission to Mars yet
What we need is to nuke mars to get more atmosphere there.
After that We can leave humans there to live and expand

@PleasureTV man wont make it that far ,
1. not smart enough
2.not mentaly tough enough
3. no space suit would with stand the radiation from space or on the planet

1 .we are smart enough we just don't have the technology to get us there
2. they go though some of the hardest test you could have.
3. Going back to Number 1 we just don't yet have the right Techno how.

@MadStylezuk they can do all the test they want they still cant understand why a space suit doesnt work in space
