The highest estimate of the taxpayer cost of the USPS I can find is $5B per year. That's 2.5 cents per mail item delivered. Add that to the cost of the stamp = 46.5 cents, which compares with about $10 for a private company to do the same thing.

I am not saying that government is efficient, but picking on the post office is a silly example.

Go pick on the Military. But it cost the taxpayer 10 times as much for Haliburton to do something than the soldiers they replaced.

Other countries do okay with "government healthcare." As I understand the public option, you can buy insurance from the government instead of doing without, I have mental issues, a pre-existing condition.
