  • This was a classic!!!

  • I remember watching this when I was a boy. and I never did get to see how it ended.

  • @rustyshield me to man i love this show but u can buy it on dvd

  • Sebastian was voiced by Adrian Knight (Tao in MCOG, Telemachus in Ulysses 31). And Shiraz Adam (Esteban in MCOG) plays small parts in this series also.

  • the english dubbing sucked didnt no nickelodeon had anime on it at one point the dub still suks though

  • @salsan375465555 The dubbing's fine - this video has bad picture/sound sync issues though.

  • Fabulous Films are trying to get Belle & Sebastian as well as Sparkatus (Sun Beneath The Sea) to an official English language DVD release. Sebastian is the same voice that gave you Tao in MCOG and Telemachus in Ulysses 31. And the voice of Esteban in the English dub of MCOG appears in small parts in the English dub of Belle & Sebastian too.

  • To this day, no official English version DVD exists. But you can buy a near official DVD "fan" version on the internet. Use Google to find it. I own this "fan" DVD set. All 52 episodes. Author used Nickelodeon VHS tapes with the official Japanese and French versions and synced them to perfection. I plan to view this DVD set in the December 2011-January 2012 period, as this period has really boring TV.

  • Great memories... still want to see the first part! :D

Did anyone know the cartoon where this lost little girl with a bracelet finds a family out in the woods.. they go canoeing and there is this accident where the father tries to save someones life and gets hit in the chest by one of the canoes and dies.. sadest moment in my early cartoon life ... does anyone know the name?

  • I did'nt know that there is the Jolie english version! Awesome! How can I get DVD?

  • Jai adoré ecoute cette video quand etais jeune

  • my mum made me look for this -_-

  • half the time, the dubbing looks like Sebastian's the mom, and mom's the kid.

  • this depicts mediterranean culture very realistically and vividly with the shooting of songbirds and the rockthrowing at random dogs...ive seen these things with my own eyes in spain and sicily.

  • Awesome :-)

  • Are there any dvd copies of this adolescent fave?

  • I was also addicted to this show both in Arabic and in English when moved to Australia from Lebanon. It really has some underlying messages for all of us. The simple things in life and how the strangest of friendships can be the most beautiful ones. I really wish they would release it again. The story line is extremely meaningful.

  • I completely agree with you there.

We need some more shows like this for kids to watch.

I don't remember if I started watching from the first episode, but whenever it was, this show grabbed me and didn't let go until the end.

    Great times.

  • @Wirraburra07 - Thank you!! I'm glad it had a happy ending!

  • I used to love this show when I was little..it was sad..he was looking for his mom? and people always wanted to take belle away..hey does anyone know how the series ended?

  • I'm pretty sure I remember the last couple of episodes of this show.

After making a very difficult overland journey, Sebastian does reunite with his mother. Some sort of celebration occurs shortly after, perhaps a wedding or a party to celebrate Sebastian's return?

I'm not certain if the wedding/party sequence was part of the last episode or not.

I don't believe the show was ever repeated on Australian TV after it's initial run.

If I'm wrong, please correct me!

  • @Wirraburra07

I came to Australia in 1987 and watched it for a year or two on ABC tv i also watched it in Iran too for many years. I looked it up on wikapedia and it said that it was origanaly made in france so its a french cartoon. It brings me so many memories from my childhood.

  • Great show it was my obsession!

  • I usto watch this show as if it was a religion.Good cartoon with good storylines.

  • so you're like, "Hey, I don't need to upload the first part."

  • @Doggieman1111 Nah, youtube pulled the first part :(

  • I loved this show. Could you post the English theme song?

  • Thanks a whole bunch. I have found these before but forgot to post. Remeber Watership Down?

  • I used to watch this movie in Norwegian :D

  • The audio's way off.

I used to watch this show when I was a kid.

  • That's because it's originally in French.

The dub always looks weird like that.

In fact this is the one that was originally Japanese...the French ones were from the 60s and were B&W.

  • No it's because the audio/video encoding sucks and they're way out of sync. How do you call seeing someone hit a wall, then hearing it 5 seconds later, dubbing? Or the "animated ventriloquism"?

I've been watching dubbed movies for most of my life and even bad 70's Kung Fu movies aren't like this. Don't forget, I used to watch this when I was a kid.

But thanks for being "Captain Obvious" and assuming I was stupid and didn't know what it was or what I was talking about.

  • I liked the series in German....what a crappy dub in english...

  • I loved this show when I was 5 or 6. I'd always watch this and the mysterious cities of gold on nickelodeon! thanks for posting this.

  • Woa- the simpson's police guy is a voice on the show.

  • Please were did you get Bell Sebastian on Video and DVD? It one of my all time favorite cartoons. I would dearly love to have The series in Video or DVD which ever way it is available.

  • What happened to part 1?

  • Never mind I saw your post about copyright infringement. Could you post it on another site and link to it?

  • OH MY GOD!!! I watched this on NICKELODEON!! THANK YOU!!!!! ^^

  • how old r u? I watched in the 80s in Iran!! may be 86 or so, I 32, born 77

  • This and danger mouse were staples of my youth.

  • If they follow you, don't look back, like Dylan in the movies

  • Oh man i use to watch this when i was young

  • es increibleahora puedo verlo con mis hijos es algo muy emocionante y trae lindos recurdos gracias pero subanlo en espanol por favor

  • Oh. My. God! Where did you find this!? I used to watch this religiously...this, Superbook, The Flying House...wow!

  • this was my favorite cartoon, I was sad when they take it off, I nver watched any othe cartoons, but thhis, I hated cartoons as a kid, but this one I liked. I this Japanese animation, I guss that was why I liked it.

  • Wow, this takes me back...

  • The chick's voice sounds familiar. Is it me or doesn't it sound like Princess Vespa from Space Balls?

  • "Todays Special" is the show with Jeff the mannequin. Belle and Sebastian was one of my faves growing up...that's why I have a Great Pyrenees dog. "The Little Prince" was another one of my favorites. Just hearing the songs takes you back, sooo much fun!

  • this is hysterical..i loooved this when I was little..what was the other 80's show called its not a cartoon but it takes place in a mall with jody and jeff..Jeff is a mannequin and everytime you took off his hat, i think he came alive and there was a rhyming mouse..does anyone know the name? I thought belle and sebastian was so sad, they were always trying to kill his dog..

  • This is weird nobody believed me about this show they thought I made it up. Now if I could find the one about the golden eagle and the city of gold or the other show where a kid who lived on a planet would talk to a rose and catch shooting stars with his net just to get to earth. Anybody know what I'm talking about let me know...

  • run a search on "Lost Cities of Gold"

  • "The Little Prince" is the second one you mentioned.

  • It's actually Mysterious Cities of Gold (or MCOG). There are some fans out there that have put out some homemade DVDs.

  • The Little Prince has been released on DVD and The Mysterious Cities of Gold is supposed to be released on DVD later this year.

    ~Anna Sartin

  • what about the cartoon "Noozles" about the koala bears?

  • oh my god! my nan used to love watchin this with me when i was little.lol. this is so cool.

  • my family explained to me that i named my dog when i was younger poochie after this cartoon. i had to find it and see what it was about, still dont remember watching it but its cool that i found it.

  • why did you only take part 2 and 3? please, take it all!! :) i haven´t seen this for soooo long :(

  • LMAO, my mother named my dog after some obscure cartoon that she said I loved to watch. I finally found it, and I actually remember it now too!

  • Wow! I used to watch this when I was...like...four.

  • I love this cartoon!!! I have looked for it for years!!!

  • Could you post part 1? It seems to be missing.

  • Great show! I remember watching it when i was little! Now am i Mixing my cartoons or wasn't there a a rose that was a lady involved? Perhaps those two shows ran next to each other when i was growing up and i'm mixing them up now *tehee* someone clarify! Thanks for the trip down memory lane -T.

  • I think you're thinking about cartoon The Little Prince. He use to care for a rose lady. Search for "The little prince" on youtube and you'll see the intro.

  • thats "the little prince" it was very weird.

  • suban mas capitulos en español

  • Holy crap! I used to love this cartoon when I was a wee lad. I was too young to understand lots of its thematic back then, but I vividly remember the episodes when Belle and Sebastian got separated (I cried!) and when they get reunited ( I cried a lot!), wow the memories. Thank you for posting!.

  • couldn't say that better,I have experienced the same feelings when I was a little child with this cartoon

  • Damn...I havent seen this show since I lived in germany. And that was 20 years ago.

  • where is part 1?

  • is it available for purchase anywhere?

  • Those were the days when the shows had meaning and they were fun to watch unlike todays boring cartoons.

  • This was the coolest show. I enjoyed it more than my kids!
