What is still an absolute wonder to me (.. modern marketing I suppose..) is how people like Cummins and GM etc., and even Volvo actually, can still manage to sell a product that so severely under-performs Scania (and Mack) by approx 15%. That is a HUGE saving. That is economy alone, never mind more, and more usefully distributed, power and, finally, mechanical strength and elegance (simplicity.) Scania are expensive, but they pay that back smartly, especially in Europe.
