Dude, do your research please, firstly we are Muslim just as many North, West, East and Subsaharans are. Islam came to East Africa the same time as it did in Arabia, when the persecuted Muslims of Mecca made their hijra, they went to East Africa and more specifically the Kingdom of Abbysinia. Many of them stayed, married local women etc. Later on through the centuries, Arabs, Indians and the Chinese traded with the indiginous population and they converted to Islam.

Speaking specifically as a Northen Somalian, we can trace our lineage back to those Arab pioneers who married local women, not all religions used force, have a look at the Asian conversions including Chinese conversions to Islam, again, through peaceful means. We have an indiginous language but due to the cultural links with the Arab world, some people also speak Arabic, I don't.
