There is no excuse for this news outlet not to get the facts correct. Perelman proved a THEOREM, not a theory. Perelman did not come up with the Poincare conjecture (I assume Henri Poincare did, but that's something Russia Today should find out) - he PROVED the conjecture.

If people want to know what happened and what his reasons are, I will say what Sir John Ball and others also know: When Grigory went to the US, he went there naive, presenting and offering openly all of his ideas and work, but he found an environment of people who were there to betray, to steal his own formulas and take credit for them in order to be famous and get prizes and money.
