4:20 Amazing how he had his back taken , got the guy back into the half guard ( ive never seen a move like the one he did) then went and did an awesome sweep ( backdoor i guess ) ... just fabulous and top class jiujitsu ...
@carlsongracieteam Davin was an orange belt in 02' and had a five year lay off starting from 04'-09' because of shoulder problems. Davin is a purple belt now though I'm not sure when he got promoted, but he's gonna be in Las Vegas next week.
Davin was forced into a 5 year lay off from 2004 until 2009 due to his shoulder completely dislocating everytime he trained. He finally had surgery and resumed training in 2009. Trust me, davin trains harder than anyone I know and is no sandbagger. It was up to Cassio Werneck on when it was appropriate to promote him after his comeback, which he did in July '09. Get the facts before you shoot false accusations and speculation
My son is friends with him. I think Davin had taken some time off of consistent training for quite a while because of a shoulder issue or something. Last I heard, he's been training pretty consistently.
why is he still a blue belt? i saw an old video of them and kron in 2002 and he was and orange belt back then. and it's already 2009 and he's still in the blue belt division.
doesn't seem sound to me. you can only be a blue belt for so long. you grow relatively to the quality of competition.
once you are at the top you exponentially stop becoming better.
i think one of the key roles that played to the success of marcelo was that he trains with arguably the best sport bjj blackbelts today and he has fought the best of all other affiliations. (terere, roger, jacare, braulio and etc.)
yeah i agree. that's what I meant. If this guy was blue belt in 2002, he must be in the category I mentioned above: he would probably rather win it all as a blue belt than risk being mediocre as a higher belt rank..!

lorentzus, Look at the thread up top and carefully read... he was an ORANGE belt in 2002, 13 years old when he met up with Kron, not a blue belt. Guys like you change the story and then on top of that throw in a dose of your own speculation just to have something to talk about without knowing anything of the facts.
They call me the black belt hunter!

Great match! High level blue belts and great guard movement. The negative comments usually come from people who don't compete.

A boring match doesn't make an ineffective "fighting style".

@AntwnMstrOfAll Yoga is not even a "fighting" style, so keep doing Yoga and hope to defend yourself on the streets with it.

maybe hunger for gold medal at all cost.
why be number 10 purple belt when you can be number 1 at blue belt level....for all eternity..
