@ToBeDeterminedLater yea but you get a free spell for water breathing... but my game glitched and the Ring fell outside the Walls... i really want to get into the mages guild, and do not want to restart as i am already very far into my mages career... Any way i can reset the quest on the PS3?

You can carry the ring easily if you press (LB) on XBox or (L2) on PS3. You carry it without putting it into your inventory.
