Remember what happened with Jory when a glass shard flew and by a split second he survived? That Facebook page looks quite fishy to me. I mean that post has no grammar or correct spelling. That is parallel to the video's description. But also look at the post below. Perfect Grammar and capitalization. Perhaps Logan posted that to his mom's Facebook without actual permisson. I don't know. Just a thought.
I'm sorry my post was long. I'm still not finished. Jory almost got killed from the Airbag episode. I think 167 was the episode. If he died, a lot of things would have happened, especially TMS going down among other things. However, you learned from that experience and became even more professional, and took on responsibility. Logan never took responsibility, nor could he. But actually I do know his "Microwave" show came from Mythbusters. So do not feel you are to Blame. Carry on Jon.
Jon, an old cliche saying comes to mind when watching this. "Curiosity killed the cat." And he was the curious one, and the cat was his mother. Fun is fun, but when what you think would be "fun" is not safe, then it shouldn't be done. there are plenty alternatives to boredom. Heck, play a video game. At least you can't burn down a house in real life from the video game itself. You do it for fun and entertainment. But you know to take precautions and you have things in case something goes wrong.
In my opinion, I do strongly agree with Jon. This should not have been a 'wake up call to people', stuff like this should have already been on people's minds when they watched this. This is exactly why they take extra care into doing their episodes.
And as for the 12 year old, I feel sorry for him. But I do not defend him, he should have known better, a 12 knows not to do things like that. I feel truly sorry for him, and pray that God helps him.

the 30th of November is my birthday so while I was having a great time with my friends this kid was getting charged with murder and his mother died now im even more sad than I was five minutes ago.
Although he might not have ever watched your show, or even known about it, it's horrible that things like this have to happen before anyone will ever get that it's not safe and even being careful won't always be enough. He's 12, he didn't know better. His mother didn't deserve it, but he's only 12.

What I don't understand is, how didn't the mom get out in time? I'm sure if Logan had started the fire, he would have said something to his mother so they both could have gotten out unharmed. If he had started it, I doubt that it was his fault she died. She didn't leave. And fire doesn't spread THAT fast, so she had plenty of time. The onlypossible solutions are that Logan either wasn't home, thus he couldn't have started it, or hated his mother for some reason.

Why would you microwave steel wool? We learned about that in science. Its a highly flammable product. Just a little bit can cause a fire. I think its very sad that he lost his mother. Like the guy said, he probably didn't mean it. His common sence just wasn't in tact at that moment and i'm sure he learned his lesson and is extreamly sorry.
I'm not one to point fingers but this all could have been prevented if his mother never encouraged him to start his show in the first place. Parents need to be parents.

I will admit, on my 13th birthday i DID microwave a pen and an egg. the 30th of November is my birthday so while I was having a great time with my friends this kid was getting charged with murder and his mother died now im even more sad than I was five minutes ago.

Although he might not have ever watched your show, or even known about it, it's horrible that things like this have to happen before anyone will ever get that it's not safe and even being careful won't always be enough. He's 12, he didn't know better. His mother didn't deserve it, but he's only 12.

if i ever microwave something that might catch fire, i would make a lab somewhat similar to the JCML2.8 because there is a spot in my house that looks alot like the little place they used to do the show on. and whats good is that i already got tarps and a big fan and lots of tinfoil. the only problem is that i dont have enough electricyti in my country to make a season like the microwave show. PEOPLE REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO MICROWAVE SOMETHING DO SOAP OR ORANGE OR EGG AND DONT TRY AT HOME!!!!!

What I don't understand is, how didn't the mom get out in time? I'm sure if Logan had started the fire, he would have said something to his mother so they both could have gotten out unharmed. If he had started it, I doubt that it was his fault she died. She didn't leave. And fire doesn't spread THAT fast, so she had plenty of time. The onlypossible solutions are that Logan either wasn't home, thus he couldn't have started it, or hated his mother for some reason.

I find it heartbreaking for john and logan... i mean, he was 12. 12! he gets sent to JUVENILE HALL! losing his mother is probably 40x worse than juvy, and jon, this kid could have seen it. honestly, people, he is 11, its not like he meant to kill his mom, or burn down his house, i think he was just doing it because it seemed like a good idea.

@patsfan4life99 I really didn't know them, I've never met them, but I know their grandparents a lot more.. I wish I could have gotten to know them, including Charlene, she used to keep in touch with my grandma with sending emails and all!! :D I'm sure that she's at a much better place now!! :D

@FallowerofHank from what i hear tho, Logan Burnt his room to vent his anger towards his mother (and i doubt the fire was because of the Microwave, because he personally used a sledgehammer on it in November 2010), and when he exited the burning building, "Smith says the older boy (logan) indicated his mother was still in the burning building but did not seem to be too concerned or upset about that."

Why would you microwave steel wool? We learned about that in science. Its a highly flammable product. Just a little bit can cause a fire. I think its very sad that he lost his mother. Like the guy said, he probably didn't mean it. His common sence just wasn't in tact at that moment and i'm sure he learned his lesson and is extreamly sorry.

I'm torn between feeling sorry for the kid since his mom is dead and thinking both mother and child were idiots. We say he's out for fun, know what most people do for fun? 360, Ps3, Wii, go outside. Hell DRUGS would have been better than burning his home down and killing his mother - and I'm against drugs. Sheesh, I'm sorry for his lost and will pray for the kid, but there's just too much here to just let him go without a stern talking too. He needs a lecture, not trolling.

I'm sorry this happened, but it was going to happen eventually. Theres never really a truly "happy" ending to anything.

I will admit, on my 13th birthday i DID microwave a pen and an egg. But i didn't set fire to anything (surly the pen but i had a fire extinguisher) and i was done inside, but this Logan child did it for fun as I did, but i'm not making youtube vids of it because thats not what i do. Logan should be punished for what he did, but i'm not saying what he did was wrong. He should be punished for the fire, but, Jon, not for the microwaving. He was just trying to have fun. Even without the foil shield.
