Why is there so much hating on Alethea!! If you don't fucking like her sexy style than don't watch it! If it wasn't for dancers like her, non of us would want to pole dance. Being sexy on the pole DOES not mean we are strippers. Pole is the art of expressing ourselves just like any form of dance and for those of you who can't get your foot out of your ass, being sensual is a form of expression. Why does she hold the US Champion of 2010 if she is such a bad example?

As a male athelete I used to cop the same kind of stupidity when i would walk down to beach in speedos to do swimming training.The inadequate would heckle me with comments like "you poser you are up yourself" .My crime being fit buffed and disciplined in relation to my sport just like these girls

curious to where your comments are coming from~ considering all of these girls are all friends. I was there when Jenyne, Karol and Amber Richards were pole jamming at Alethea's house. Pole is what you make it. everyone's style is different, not cookie cutter. I love Alethea's sexy style as well as Jenyne's dramatic style~ if you were a tru fan of pole you wouldn't be wasting your time watching a vdo of pole that isnt your style, just to leave hateful remarks. grow up please thanks

@elaveen uh... you do realise where pole dancing originated? I know it's now branched out to fitness but personally fitness pole dancing looks horrid to me. It's meant to be sexy and the reason it gained popularity so quickly with women outside of strip clubs is BECAUSE it has that sex appeal.

Going from a dress to a 2 piece is theatrical and practical as most polers start in that. Oh, and I won't say names but I know for a fact a lot of world renowned pole dancers started in strip clubs.

I have been pole dancing 3 years now & own a studio. What I can't get over is everyones constant judgement & evaluation of stripper vs pole dance, sensual vs non sensual. Could everyone just quit already? Exotic dancers created this sport/art. Why do women get judged even if they are being overtly sensual? Men can do many things-many ugly things & the world says nothing. Women are powerful, sensual & so is pole dance. Quit trying to put it in a box!

it's not alethea that made the video look over sexualised, its the appalling camera work that ruined the performance. Did the same on felix's performance. Cant even appreciate the moves as you can't see them most of the time. SACK THE CAMERA MAN!!!!!

Personally, I don't understand why you are expecting Alethea, or Jenyne (who allegedly once worked as a stripper) to only dance the way YOU deem acceptable. I think it is very sad that even you, as a poler, view this as something dirty and to be despised. When I see Alethea perform I think "rockstar" not "stripper".

It doesn't matter how much we tone it down, and I don't feel we have a responsibility to appease or educate the masses by doing so. If a person sees Alethea's style of dance and judges us all based on her performance I really don't think we missed out on a potential supporter in the first place. Pole is whatever you want it to be, no matter what anyone says.

@elaveen Ok, but... don´t forget where the pole dance came from. Here´s my humble opinion: this is a genuine proof of human´s constant improving. Women took a classic cabaret dancing and converted it into a beautiful form of art and skill, at the point of starting a new contemporary dance style. The pole dancer´s founders were cabaret dancers who put their sould into what they were doing, so I believe this Alethea´s performance is not only perfect but a geniune tribute to p.d.´s roots.

@elaveen (continue) It has everything: the classic pd´s sexy moves (which were attempted to excite the audience and in the beginning, as explained before, were the only thing that matters), the gymnastics and a powerful and creative coreography. It´s a performance to be very proud of.

Thanks for all of your hard work, Chelcie.....everybody knows that you are the BEST when it comes to snagging the vids of comps and making sure everyone gets a chance to see the performances....hee hee--ESPECIALLY when it comes to Alethea! SHe did a great job..love how she is using more stretchy and contortion type moves in her routines. That opening overstrectch over the elbow was pretty cool!
