@MrNoirtoise Since it's a fixed gear (no freewheel), by resisting the cranks' forward motion you lock up the entire drivetrain, causing the rear wheel to skid and (somewhat) slowing you down. Since the rear wheel has lost traction with the street, you can do whip skids (1:23 - 1:30). Or you could be smart and get a front brake.

its funny that all this video is, is a guy riding his bike around town acting a fool and salmon tailing away his rear tire. boring!!! at least throw some handlebar humping in there. jus sayin.
@TheRalphnocerous it just takes practice and ride as much as you can, a decent bike would help you achieve your goals alot faster. I ride a 725tr 58cm performs nice for me, velocity deeep v's, sugino RD crank and sugino BB makes the world of a difference...
@TheRalphnocerous my leader is cherry, nothing I couldnt tackle, sawzawed the seat tube so it closes all the way and walla, the lightest bike to skid all day, I love leader and at $185 a frame Im all over them...sell'em all day for $250
@killkong but putting brakes on a fixed gear is really stupid, unnecessary, and untraditional; unless youve been pulled over like, 3 times about it. im 6 and counting. >:[
FOR ONCE THIS BLOKE HAS SOME SENSE ABOUT WHAT A PROPER FIXED WHEEL BIKE SHOULD LOOK LIKE NOT ALL THIS SHITTY MULTI COLOR STUFF OR STUPID DISC WHEELS I AM FED UP OF SEEING ALL THIS FIXIE WANNABE SHIT AND RIDIN ONE FOR A FASHION STATEMENT PS THIS IS FROM A REAL CYCLIST
the way he has it set up... around 700-1000, depending on if those are sugino 75 (which they probably are). leader frames are relatively affordable, he just has nice components.
@marlo916 true but regardless of their stiffness, the aluminum tubing isnt high enough quality to actually be reliable for everyday use. aliens new frame is APPARENTLY a legit leader, basically; super strong but heavy. and some people just prefer a classic track geometry, like me. i hate leaders because of their elongated top tube, chainstays, and seatstays. viking and bertelli steel lugged track frames all the way!
@Fliphaha not to hate or anything but have you ever ridden a leader? can't hate on something until you've tried it. i have the v2 725tr and it's the best frame i've had. and i've had a lot of frames.
I dont get the whole damn riding breakless shit. Id rather just be able to break quickly when its needed instead of skidding everywhere like a twat.
Lovely bike though

@tommyogtigern Massan knows how to skid. That's why he doesn't hump the stem, like newbies do.
