Hi guys. I'm going to build my haunted house (for the second year in a row) starting this summer. I plan to use pallets. So for yours, do you stack the pallets on top of each other (on the sides), screw them together, then stabilize by running wood across the top?
@Jordan102197 Yes, we stack them and screw them together in certain areas that make them the most stable. The key to making the whole maze super stable is by having a lot of turns and pallets connecting to each other. Just look at the aerial view and you'll notice that our maze is very intricate with turns. It makes it really sturdy.
The pieces going across add more stability as well, but it helps even more to have a roof going over it as well. Good luck on yours!!!
@PerditionHome Okay, thanks. Would it work if I made rooms and hallways, and a little maze, kind of like what you did, but a lot smaller, towards the end, like for instance if I ran wood across the top as a brace to hold it together?
@Jordan102197 Yeah, I mean anything helps as long as you really make it sturdy. Hallways and turns make it really stable, not the actual size of the maze. Heavy pallets and wooden beams going across bind it together the most.
@TheSashaMartinez Thank you so much for your kind words and support! We here really appreciate that sort of thing. All the love and help we get is what makes doing this so dang awesome! And I'm glad you keep up on our haunt vids, it's one of the reasons we decided to do this as well.
And as far as new haunt vids from you, I'm very excited to see them & see what's in store from you guys!! Glad we motivate you. This is our second year of doing the maze thing so I'm sure you'll do just fine!!
@JHMDF We were saying the same thing haha. To be honest, it's kind of overwhelming because this thing is gonna be a mother to take down. Also, I wore a Korn shirt in the previous build day vid, thought you'd totally appreciate that!!
