I like this, with one quibble - Never use the D "dieting" word. It implies self-denial, drudgery, frantic 1950s housewives, gritting your teeth as you hate what you eat, short term, cheating on your "diet," guilt, so on. Instead think, and use words, and do "eat properly" "eat well" "healthy foods." Focus on eating right and in right amounts and yo'll do fine. Oh, and just give up anything made of wheat.
I find the hardest thing for me when dieting is getting enough nutrition. Smaller portions work, but I’m left hungry and less food= less nutrition. I use nutritional supplements now and eat healthy, full meals.I got started at ryansnutrition com and have my appetite under control.
@BlackParadox333 He looks great thin! This is the way people look when they don't eat too many sweets. Or trick their brains into thinking the only sweet stuff to eat is unhealthy stuff after drinking diet sodas and juice from concentrate instead of water and ordinary fruit juice.
I'm glad I found this video - I was doing a 'Google' search just to find out if he was sick or something. I agree with other folks, he may have gone a little to the extreme, a few more pounds would look much better. Too thin just looks older... But, glad to hear he's not sick!
@52fritz I completely agree. I thought he must be sick. I didn't notice he had become overweight. But now, I see......and I love the tanker visual. It hit home. :o(
@Zgradis it is a vita mix...usually run anywhere from 3-400 dollars, complete with all the add-ons about 600. I've had mine for 7 years. Def worth the investment.
I've seen a lot of people criticize Alton for his weight loss.... calling him gaunt and too thin and gross. I think a lot of these comments stem from low self esteem and jealousy. Alton looks great! And I'm sure he feels great.
@AdIgnorantiam I agree with you. When I was younger I was criticized for being thin I was no more than your average European but here in America everyone is more chubby (to be polite) I gained weight and now I regret it

Eh, why should he be thin? He's a middle aging chef. And who cares, anyway? Now, he looks gaunt and kind of ill. But at least now we know how he feels about big people ("ugly, disgusting").
@Noromongrel Eh, Fat people are DISGUSTING GROSS PIGS not to mention unheathy and stinky. I love how you say "BIG PEOPLE" Call it like it is "FAT PEOPLE" using the term big people is dishonest and misleading.
Very quiet indeed - prolly 'cause the sound from the TV doesn't come directly to the camera's mic... There are better ways to capture media - a cheap DTV-USB stick sets you back less than $100 and gives much crisper quality, even in HD.
I LOVE that the doctor/cameraman addressed Altons mole!!! I've always noticed it and even though he probably has had it looked at... It still concerns me! How funny!! ps. Thank you so much for posting this!
Man, where can I buy one of those 50lb cubes of fat?

I used to like him but he has turned into more of a moonbat the more popular he has become. It's a shame. That used to be one of my favorite shows.

I don't mean to criticize but he does look "sickly". Of course I do believe his diet now is healthier, but maybe a few more carbs wouldn't hurt.

@kwiat77 Yeah, I think lost a bit too much weight. Something just above where he ended up is probably best.

I think Alton looks great now. Pleasantly plump is OK but fat, including mine, is disgusting and unhealthy.

Why is part of the title of "Good Eats: The Early Years" all fudged out in the background? Check out the bookshelves behind Alton.
