@ching04ful I wish I could see you strum it so I would know, but your hand should be bent enough so that the fingers strum straight down, and not at an angle. It might help. God Bless.
Amazing! Thank you so much for this course. This first lesson is challenging for me, but just what I needed to help stop that lag time between my chord changes. Thanks again!
@shawnashenette Thanks. I'm glad it helps. Let me know if you want links for all of the lessons in order. I don't know if you've gotten them, because I send out so many every week. If you need them, e-mail me at;
@robbourassaguitarist Yes, I have them. You sent them to me last night. I appreciate all the work you've done on these. Very kind and extremely helpful. Thanks again!
I'm loving these lessons. I've been playing the guitar for a year or two on and off, not really learning much, but I really feel that these lessons are making sense and filling in the gaps of all of the little random tidbits of knowledge I've gained and forming a more coherent picture. Thanks!
Hi, Rob! I've been practicing guitar now for a couple of months from another teacher. He learns you to practice your left hand first with a metronome and not to worry about your right hand.
I've been doing this for 3 months now with no progress.
I started practicing today and just within 1 hour i can switch the chords so fast and it going better every minute! I can even play the c and the g 7 chord, I didn't even know them yet !
Hi just wanted to say thanks for all this, I'm not a beginner but I found this whole series very useful. I'm using this and other videos to work on my improvising trying to be aware of what chord is being played and playing emphasizing the notes of that chord in the solo. Thanks again!
@chapeaulesmirriau...hey dude m in d same situation as you are..m not a beginner but i need to work on chords n concepts for my soloing...if u could lemme know wt i could use or can gimme some tips id reali appreciate it! thanx
As you go through the weeks, stick to Practice Companion Videos A, and skip all of the B, C, and D stuff, till you can play with the level A videos. Then, go through the B vids, and so on.
Each week has its own scale, and 4 chord progression, and it all goes in the order of the circle of 5ths, which I explain after you memorize the info.
Thanks for this Rob. I was doing the right hand hand waiting for the left thing and not getting very far with chord changes. It only took a day or so to get a huge improvement.
That really is the key. People don't realize that they can practice for years ineffectively, but as soon as they force themselves to play through the change, even if it's not clean. Keeping it in time, no matter what, teaches your muscles the fine memory that they will need. I'm glad you got it.

Still hammering this out - been working on this for two days and getting a little better each day - but that isn't saying much!
