Firstly, evolution doesn't state anything about humans evolving from monkeys. It was found, however, in an independent research that humans and monkeys share a common ancestor.

Second, the "previous form" doesn't die off, it is fully viable for one form and an "evolved" form to co-exist.

Think of it this way. A black person and white person have a child, who is black. The child would be the "evolved form" which would live on its natural path. Meanwhile, the white person could then have a child with another white person, therefore creating a white child. Both children co-exist. One does not simply die because of "evolution"
