Was not living by the Old Testament done away with?
They ran into the same issue as recorded Acts 15.
It seemingly started by some saying that a person had to be circumcised in order to be saved and right with the Lord. They kept saying that they had to keep the law of Moses as well, in order to be righteous.
Verse 20 states everything from the Old Testament that Christians should keep now.
It is amazing how the Bible makes it very clear to me.
@Dab11082 Acts 15:20 does have the basic things that gentile, new converts are to abstain from, but in verse 21, it says, "For from ancient generations Mosheh has, in every city, those proclaiming him – being read in the congregations every Sabbath." So, this is saying that they were to observe Sabbath and learn the teachings of Mosheh (Moses). Over time, the new converts would observe the teachings they learn from Mosheh. The OT was not done away with, see Matt. 5:17-19. See also other videos.
@Dab11082 You are presuming something that is not true. I do believe in the New Testament and I believe in The Messiah. I believe in the way that the original desciples believed and SHaul (Paul) believed. I believe that the Old Testament was not done away with and that we are to still follow it, as well as the New Testament.. I just got saved and I take the Bible for what it says. It makes no sense how other things in the Bible can mean what they say while others, such as this example, do not mean what they say.
@Dab11082 Then I apologize. I think that you should try to learn a little bit about the KJV and the differences between that and the original. You can go to my website yahwehist dot webs dot com, or to w w w dot ancient - hebrew dot com and you will learn a lot. SHalom! (Peace!)
@Dab11082 Yes, I have. I have also taken the time to learn Hebrew and Koine Greek and found out that this verse does not say that, have you done that?
You have to live by the OT and NT?

No.

But whatever.

Have you read the first chapter of the Gospel according to John?
At least up to the first 14 verses.
It says that the Word was with God, and that the Word was God. And later on down (v14) he wrote that the Word was made flesh.
That almost explains it all, to an extent.
