  • hi i like your led light on side with engine.. where can i buy that?

  • i glad your using the 12" propellers very nice

  • Is this powerful enough to carry an RC glider (200 - 800g) as payload up to release altitude and then release it for me in UAV mode?

  • @turdsurfer, I have not tested full payload yet but it is at least 500g easily. Sure it can lift 1 kg too but with what cost of battery usage.. Answer on lifting is a bit harder to say due I don't know what type and size of a glider you are planning to lift, basically yes why not? Just need to create release mechanism and to make sure that prop thrust is rather free

  • @jpsecond

If it can be used to autonomously lift gliders like these above 100m high and then release them and come straight back down, then that will be very useful:

I can't paste links here, so these are Google search keywords:

    greatplanes fling arf

    ava von fvk

The lightest is 200g, and the heaviest is 850g.

  • @turdsurfer, well it will be challenging due wings will resist a lot direct uplift and also GC control might be interesting.. But highly possible. I have flown this quad at max altitude of 70-80 meters already with camera.

Sure there will be a lot issues to solve first but i would say that if we can create good mount to hold glider balanced.. why not.. Ok we are still doing core programming for it so I might wait a bit..

  • @jpsecond That's actually a good idea. You don't have to mount the glider in the prop wash, just tether a few feet below. The quad probably will have problems, but a hexa or octo with the right motors and battery would be better.
