  • Love Cavalier Turbo just cost to much to maintain and run :(

  • thats okay ... but b20 push's that without a turbo lol .. i used own cav and i though it was fast .. haha then i race integra got my ass whooped by 3 cars lol so i bought me honda =D

  • @estevanv1500 but they've got only about 115lb/ft of torque, meaning if you catch the driver unaware or you happen to be going up a hill, they ain't that quick. I had a chipped vectra 2.2 sri150 (about 175bhp) and that would happily hold a CTR at bay up an incline

  • I have to say cavaliers were one of the only decent vauxhalls going.

  • nice looking cav turbo.

  • Wow. that is really really powerful!!

  • This is probably the longest dyno run i've ever seen.

  • monkeyboy the engine in the RS200 was a BDT not a YB COSWORTH and they made up to 550+BHP and how can you say the cosworth engine is shite cosworth designed the head for the vauxhall XE red top

  • The Redtops cosworth made, they've got a stamp under head - Coscast. Also there is no core plug on the side of the head.. Cosworth did make the best XE heads. Vauxhall GM heads kept going poruse. I've got both XE / LET and both coscast heads thank god.

  • cosworth do alotttt of engine work for alot of cars. there on board with mclaren / mercedes also.

still think the audi 5 cylinder was the best engine ever created. <3 love it.

  • even people use the red tops in the escort mk2 they only have to rebuilt once a year. ybs are like rocking horse shit for parts massive running costs.

  • prolly coulda pulled in the next lower gear hey?? haha

  • good power for an old car but dont dare compare it to the beauty of the cosworth YB block, lets not forget its still a vauxhall.

  • whats wrong with vauxhall

  • a cosworth yb at 1000bhp is NOT reliable, 700 is not reliable, reliable in a YB is between 350 and 400

  • There is drag spec cossies running 1000BHP YB's with no problems AT ALL.

  • Cossie engines are awful things, rough and thirsty, only designed originally to make 300hp for the RS200 (and even then it used to blow its stack regularily!) so boosting it to more than twice that is not a good Idea!!!!!!!

  • Good old redtop? thats prolly the worst 2ltre engine there is. Cosworth YB, now thats an engine. Let me know when a redtop does over 1000BHP and remains reliable as any other road car ;-)

  • worst 2L? watch out, your crystal meth is bubbling over in the kitchen!!

  • yout talking crap my friend, the red top engine is far more reliable than the horrible rough old bag of shite ford made in the 80s!!!! your are crazy bud, just crazy!

  • What bhp was it? they are 204 standard, Good old redtop turbos

  • it made 212bhp 232ft lbs @ 9psi

  • Nice, Just had my Cav turbo on the dyno,

    230.5bhp / 248.3lb-ft.

Full exhaust(decat) / Cone Airfilter / Sard Fuel reg.

Going back on the dyno, after I've fitted actuator / intercooler kit. This time I'll make sure my phone is charged for a video. lol

  • what mods have you made to the car? just wondering as the standerd cav turbo only made 206bhp

  • do you still own the car, not many left in uk now!!!!
