I think this dance was performed wonderfully. Yes Totino is VERY talented and there dance was fun and amazing and memorable, but they had more personals than Benilde. The difference at this level between schools is less than an point in some cases and i think both did well, but Benilde was the CLEAR winner in finals. I also think that emotional dances work for some teams and Benilde is one of them.

I think it would help if the vid was from the front.. and of a little better quality and if I wasn't quite so shaky! I didn't expect Benilde to win, but i'm glad that they did :)
Saw it live finals was far cleaner! The category is Execution-degree of accuracy. You are right in saying this was far to long in the same formation. Learn from this DT girls. They were strategic about placement also ( 4 best dancers were situated in the center 1st & 2nd rows right where the judges tend to focus in on, made up for a weaker back row. Still a well executed dance& if they improve on weak choreography and better movement on the floor I think they will be back up there again!
I think benilde did well but i think people need to move on from having an emotional routine...that is not on the score sheet at all. this is not a rememberable routine for me..yes they have good technique and what not but it was boring and not that clean. Stop basing what you think off how it made you feel and look at everything else.
I think Benilde has great dancers and great technique but what I don't get is how you can stay in the same formation for the 1st minute of the dance. To me there just wasn't any difficulty to there transitions and formations. I would love to see the scores for AA Jazz just to see what they scored in these areas compared to the other top 5 teams.
Well if benilde was in second after prelims they made up for it and ultimately won. You need to stop hating on them. Both Totino and benilde are talented but BSM ended on top
maple grove had much more emotion in their dance and energy, i didn't see much from benilde, it just didn't blow me away as others did. i feel that their dance was just too simple
@dancermonkeyfreak0 disagree completely. this dance is outstanding. and if you want depth, you should take note of how much emotion and passion is displayed in every movement of every girl on the floor.
@dancermonkeyfreak0 fascinating assessment of the state champions' dance... i'd have to agree with the judging, however. their first place was very much deserved--these ladies are talented, strong, beautiful dancers.
@dancermonkeyfreak0 Benilde is never just doing 4 moves their choreography is amazing! and the mambo was clearly second place.. They were off on their turns and they had no emotion
@TheEmilyandHayley yes they did the same arms a few times, they just aren't as creative as other teams. a benilde girl fell out of the quad in the beginning, so they weren't perfect either... and italiano was the name actually, and they had much more energy and complex choreography. totino was ranked 1st after prelims
@dancermonkeyfreak0 Yes, one girl fell out of the quad- it wasn't a perfect performance. And thats why another team was ahead after prelims. But, the performance in finals was FLAWLESS and the overall emotion was amazing- I've never experienced something like that watching another team. Regardless of what you or I think of the dance, the BSM team was crowned champions. I believe they deserved it. They were different than other AA teams and clearly worked hard. Well done girls.
