Man did it take alot of balls to change Sting gimmick so much. To think of a very colorful wrestler who work bright colors every night to the ring, and a man who was one of the best on the mic. And they just got rid it of it all. To have your number one baby face the most over man in the company just do a complete 180 in gimmick is crazy. And to think that Sting in 97 was prob at double his 95 popularity while being the top babyface in the company.

Without a doubt THE franchise of WCW. I've read that Hogan wasn't sure if he wanted to turn out to be the mystery partner of the Outsiders at Bash at the Beach '96. So Bischoff asked if Sting was willing to, and being the company guy he was, agreed unless Hogan finally decided if he would do it. I'm glad that Hogan finally did decide to do so, because there was nobody in WCW who deserved to play the role of the Hero more than Sting.

Sting was never great behind the the mic, but fans could sense his charisma and passion. Plus he was great in the ring, especially for his size. Oh and don't forget he has the best gimmick of any wrestler ever, and he has never worked for McMahon. The stinger will always be my favorite.

for me sting wasn't the best wrestler in WCW like you said, For me Sting WAS WCW (sure you probably feel the same) Every story line always evolved round him and he managed to always pull the story off, I will also miss him when he retires, guess its because i grew up watching him, i really dont know why but i truely see him as a hero, just hope when he retires that he is on top of the game, like he deserves
