i had this in 2004 from Kyphosis and its really destroyed my life to what it was before surgery. i have had Zero support from any medical system. i'm dying and the Australian Governement & Pain killer laws are letting me. here is my website with more info about my issues. commercialclubking.blogspot.com i have lost everything
Thank you for posting this video. I have put off this surgery for 20 years due to sheer cowardice. Now I've got an 85* curve and I'm almost completely disabled. It's time. But I just can't get past the fear.
I wish i could find someone to actually *talk* to about this who's been through this before.
I had that surgery for kyphosis dec, 2009 and it ruined my whole year because my body rejected the hardware and was rubbing against my muscles. I had to have 7 wound washouts because it kept getting infected. Now just almost 2 weeks ago Dec 9, 2010 I had the rods removed. So that makes 9 spine surgeries in one year. And I'm only 17. It was a sucky junior/senior year for me. Oh and I'm addicted to pain pills too. Since I have been taking them for over a year and am still on them.
im lookin to have this surgery but with a different diagonosis...schereumanns disease...hump back...havin trouble finding a surgeon to do it...they dont think my curv is not bad enough but the pain is really difficult to manage daily tasks...anyone in the lincoln area contact me
I got rid of my Scoliosis at 38 without surgery using a Theraflex Machine.
Search mjYU_fWhjU4 in the You Tube search box to see me having a treatment session. My back used to disappear behind my shoulder blade and a few sessions on this and now it’s visible along the whole back. Before and after photos on my Facebook Group : Scoliosis Cures and Pain Relief. Have a look, get your therapist to have a look and get them to get one

i'm 26, had surgery 2 yrs ago. Don't know wat my angles were before and after, but i had a hump-back going in and came out perfectly straight and like 3 inches taller. if anyone reading this has questions, u can msg me :)
DEFINITELY try to avoid using your pelvic bones as your source of bone graft, and use donor graft; it reduces post-op pain AND recovery time dramatically! And if you can, try to get a posterior only surgery. Again, recovery time and pain will be greatly reduced post-op.
omg what happened?? ya i had it done like in april...i had a 82 degree rotation it was terrible....but they were able to fix it and get it down to a 14 degree rotation.....the surgeon was awesome....i was 16 at the time......
Hi, only two of my screws fused, 3 did not fuse which is what they call a "non-union"
and the nails are out of my spine by a inch. BUT please don't think this will happen to you, remember I had my in 1999, things were different then, I had a quack for a doctor too (found him watching NBC news)
i really appreciate this video alot. i have scoliosis too and i have decided to get the surgery in jan 2010. glad to see youre up and about. you have to be strong through whatever may come your way. you have proven that. It would be interesting to see you like bend in certain positions to see what you can and cannot do to show people how your body is after surgery. please update me if youre not too busy aim/aol: brooklynbg755 thanks a mill
i had a two level lumbar fusion done last may. Helped my leg pain but my back still hurts on a regular. Guess you can't have everything, at least I can walk!
I'm 18 and had a posterior lumbar interbody fusion when I was 16 to stop back pain from my broken L5 vertebrae. I went through a year of pain management until I finally had the surgery and it was amazing. I woke up the day after my 6 hour surgery and already felt better than the day before. I recommend getting a donor for the bone graph (not having hip surgery), and only doing posterior if possible. I am back to competitive swimming and can do everything pain free!
I had this done back in '02 too. I still had a lot of pain and felt awful for a couple of years after. Now I'm doing great! I can even pole dance which has helped to give me strength and has greatly reduced my pain.
Hi, i had anterior fusion 14 moths ago and the pain is worse now than before! Is this normal? Do you have any suggeations i could try? Its really getting me down :(
