  • Damn these guys ain't no joke!

  • 1:36 ?, somesort of whirlwhind throw

  • wow 2:02 was just an amazing counter attack. well done!

  • Superb and beautiful throws! Very difficult to defend against it when well executed. Badly executed, though, in BJJ or MMA will results in a choke or hooks being easily dropped in then a choke.

  • It is such a superb throw - the only great defender I saw against it was Koji Sone who used to drop back and strangle the thrower.

  • song please

  • @lpperalta1 the name of the song is Can't Repeat - The Offspring

  • 1:59 hillarious

  • WTF IS THAT THE REFEREE? 3:21

  • minha tecnica preferida :D

  • i did some randori the other night we gripped...about 4 seconds later i was on my back....good times

  • It is such a beautiful throw but unfortunately I was too tall and thin.

  • Haven't done judo in over 10 years, but I still love this throw :)

  • the guy who makes the first throw at the video

jumps like a toad after the throw or like a fish out the water

  • excellent

  • well if u can do that its not good technique on tori's part and deserve to get whats coming to you lol

  • @ 1:59 lolololol

  • At 1:59 he is saying " let me show you how it is done" it is beautiful

  • just a hint to any one trying to learn this throw, dont drop to your knees it takes away all the power of the legs for the completion of the throw. love this throw, really effective since im one of the shortest at my dojo and in my weight class

  • WHATS THE NAME OF THIS MUSIC? THE OFFSPRING YEAH I KNOW BUT WHATS THE NAME OF MUSIC?

  • Comment removed

  • @Calvinizur I can see why because it is freaken lazy to do so.

  • i love morote.. so tight baby u cant escape it... i play with ur feet a lil bit then bam hit u when ur legs are open... a lot of ppl dont see it coming

  • the only well-executed throw is the one at 1:27

  • why does everyone drop seoi

  • im alot smaller than all my opponents this throw has saved me so many times

  • AWESOME VIDEO!!!!!

  • FIVE people have been humiliated by this throw.

  • When the game starts, the artbitor gives you a color, red or white, in proffesional games, you won't get a belt with the color red or white, but you'll get a suit, white or blue, so the arbitor knows who's who.

  • really only saw 6 true Seoi Nage. The overwhelming majority of the nage waza show appeared to be seoi otoshi

  • MY FAV THROW!!!!!!!!

  • Just far far too many drop seoi nage's, what's wrong with the standard Morote Seoi Nage? For a start, Drop soei doesn't work if your opponent keeps one foot infront of the other

  • @savagevcb Thats why you create movement and change their stance, for a nice sweet entryy ; }

  • @determinated Yeah... but it doesn't really work like that... People who stand in attacking posture are kind of aware of that trick... then they strangle you.

  • What's the difference between the blue and the white uniform besides the colour ?

  • @asoka2000 The difference between the blue and the white judogui is because the refree has to differentiate who throw.

  • @VGOJUDO ah ok, I understand, it makes sense.

  • @VGOJUDO I hear it actually only came about once they started broadcasting Judo on television, difficult to see who is who on the old black and white TVs. That's all the blue gi is, something for TV! (if I'm right...)

  • @VGOJUDO yes, and for small competitions they use a small belt in top of their judo belt, which may be red or white.

  • @asoka2000 The diffference is its easier to identify who made the threw & they go on different sides of the mat.

  • lol 1:27 pure beauty :) , his legs are higher his head

  • koga ftw!!

  • 0:44 epic faceplant lol'd so hard

  • my favorite throw

  • As a tall guy, I really hate this throw. Gentle ride though.

  • the best! ...da pauozz!!

  • 0:43 ouch...

  • 3:11 koka -.-

  • 2:20 se no sen *_*

  • @CommodoreDixon I'd say depending on how tall you are it might be helpful to drop to your knees. Besides you will give more speed to your technique by dropping to your knees. But I do it with a squatting position (I'm 1.70m tall) by being short I think it helps me controling my center of mass.. I don't really find any pros and cons, just the way you think it suits you best might be "your" way of doing it ...

  • i get people so much with this... do a little fake leg sweep sort of failed tani otoshi thing then they're slightly off balance i go for MOROTE SEOI NAGE!

  • the music is a pain in the arse

  • 1:28 is absolutely epic

  • Nice!

  • This is my tokui waza check my profile its full of Seoi nage only

  • Whenever 'Seoi Nage' is applied at the proper timing, it's a fantastic and one of a kind throw. It's one of my favorites.... thx for posting..

  • my favorite throw!!!

  • i like 1:39!

  • MY FAVORITE THROW MOST PPL CANT ESCAPE IT OR SEE IT COMING !! :D

  • @garciag03 u got that right, there is no escape baby

  • @garciag03

I know! My favorite, also, I think it's easy ;S

  • How come you don't need to secure a position on the ground after the throw? Many times the attacker lands in an infavorable position. If judo is a martial art first and a sport second then shouldn't a favorable combat position after a throw be a priority?

  • @drewnut they should but they lazy. should always assume its not a win and continue holddown.

  • morote seo nage isn't my main move but it a good one as backup plan :D

  • 1:58 ha-ha! :-)

  • Comment removed

  • @tipsetd it works just fine. i'm about 130 lbs and the lightest out of all my training partners (who are all around 170). when i get ippons on them it's usually with a seoi nage or some form of sweep.

  • 0.15 Bravissimo !!!

  • @1:58 is NOT a seoinage..... its seoi otoshi

  • @InnovationHero cala a boca

  • @tipsetd

It works the exact same, im 80kg(180lbs) and ive thrown someone weighing 104kg(230) with this throw. Morote seoi nage and ippon seoi nage are two of the best throws to use on people bigger than youu.

  • @determinated ahhaha i agree but im big too and i use morote seoi nage its fucking awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @determinated i'm 250 and a skinny ass brown belt throws me like a rag doll with this, i hate getting thrown with this.

  • @determinated (Its my favourite!!!)

  • @shmocko22 suchh a beautiful throww isn't it : )

  • @determinated It works even better if they're taller, much easier to get under their center of gravity. I know for a fact, I get thrown around by those shorties quite a bit with Morote Seoi Nage.

  • @determinated de ashi barai, is good when someone is bigger than you... :)

  • idd, but don't try it if the person tahts bigger just picks you up :P

  • @tipsetd it works very well. check this out:

    video: gt96r5LNqZw

  • In No-Gi obviously you can use the morote, or the eri setup (or can you?) i was wondering if there are other set ups to this seo nage throw in the No-Gi, other than the ippon set up??

  • My specialty :)

  • nomura is the shit!

  • I go to Bushikan Dojo in Washington, United States. I know how to do this stuff. Easy and fun. :)

  • Eu tbm tenho um bom morote seonague! me visita

  • namo of the music????please

  • The Offspring - Can't Repeat

  • the offspring - can't repeat

  • finally a video without gay music

  • Nice video.

  • wats the song pls?

  • "Can't Repeat" - Offspring.

  • some places yeah

  • Morote Seoi Nage is my favorite technique because it ends the match by ippon

  • @piero27761 dude, every technique ideally ends a match with an ippon. c'mon.

  • 1:28 Awesome !

  • the double knee drop morote seio nage is such poor form, and it causes knee damage

  • explain to me why you think that it is such poor form. what is so poor about it?

  • because you cant get back up fast enough. in japan, if you drop on your knees you will be heavilly criticized, and in some tournaments, you will get a shido for dropping on your knees

  • Well in this vid most of the judoka seem to get up fast enough and use the momentum to throw the guy for ippon before he can counter. also Kosei Inoue uses it and im pretty sure he dont get heavily criticized for it. But i understand why most people dont like the throw , like you said, it can cause knee damage.

  • lol tackytastic

  • fav move

  • can you make a compilation of standing MSN please...thanks...

  • @corismsyn find the videos for it and it cud be posible XD

  • i dont think there's a compilation...maybe a few single ones here and there...

  • If you want standing seoi nages, look for a Tokihisho Koga compilation

  • yeah i know that..but he's more of an ippon seoi nage guy than a morote..which is what im looking for...basically, i just wanted to see if standing morote seoi nage is common in shiai...

  • JUDO POWER

  • Já foi minha tecnica preferida

    >>technique has been my favorite!

    from: Brazil

to the USA and the rest of the world!

    by: Diego

  • I dumped two big men for ippon with drop left morote seoi nage two weeks ago love the move.

  • 1:35 Beautiful.. @__@ That was so kewl.

  • Darn I hate my height (190 cm) .. it's so hard for me to make morote seoi nage .. but I love this movie.. x)

  • i know what you mean... we get pretty good at sidestepping this move, although i still get dropped more then half the times

  • compensate wuth uchi mata , tsode ...

  • @afatomafa try uchi mata, tai otoshi and o soto gari. those moves are damn explosive as well...

  • yeah morote seoi nage is for the little guys, 1:59 funny the guy entered and then he was shown how it was done lol

  • if you are tall and right handed when you can do to make easier for you to enter morote seoi nage is to sweep your opponent's left leg with your left leg first and then enter morote seoi nage after he has lifted his left leg from the ground and the farther you are fron him the better

  • I am currently practicing this move to achieve perfection :)

  • @InnovationHero Keep practising, I fractured my neck because a dim-wit threw a half arsed morote seoi nage in competition.

  • i love judo, i love this video, and above all i l LOVE thiss throww ! ;p

    some really amazingg throws here

  • 1:16-best morote i have ever seen in my life

  • Good video but you should give credit to the song. It's "Can't Repeat" by Offspring.

  • i want that technique but my knees are not so strong...

  • drop seoi with a cross grip favourite move

  • great throw dont see the problem used it myself many times when i got hightackeled....

Just need to be carefull this throw as the whole concept of judo is not to hurt anyone but to bring them to the ground where they can be controlled easily with the use of other techniques and people mentally die anyway when u send them flying...

  • ive got tomorrow judo exameo.0 im going for brown :P YEA!!!!!!!!

  • The problem I see here is that way too often the guy throwing would end up in a horrible position on the ground.

This is what I don't like about Olympic Judo rules, fighters overcommit to complete the throw.

Throw a BJJ guy like that in an MMA fight and you end up chocked.

PS: no hater, Judo brown belt myself

  • Its a good point, but I'd like to see you throw anyone using Morote Gari in an MMA fight. What will you be grabbing exactly?

  • some organizations, like the defunct Pride, allow the use of the gi.

  • So thats.........no organizations. And strangely enough, its going to be the thrower wearing the gi isn't it?

  • Well of course some of the techniques wouldn't work in a different sport. It's the same with bringing a BJJ guy in Judo. Some of his techniques wouldn't work/be allowed in judo. Judo is not MMA. I see no problem here ;)

  • Thats because this is judo. its like saying that if a rugby player caught the ball in a game of football it would be a handball. But i do understand what you mean...i don't like doing this throw because it can leave your back too open.

  • In MMA you wouldn't have to throw your opponent flat on his back either.

If you don't roll over them yourself they'd still land on on their side and you'd be right on top of them.

  • seoi without putting knees on the ground looks so gud

  • wn amo el judo

  • very good video with beautifuls morote seoi nage.

  • thank u for all this ippon finish ..

  • Just pull him off balance and keep pulling as you turn in, and turn in low, that should do it against any opponent.

  • perfeito ! ippon"

  • my favourite throw in Judo, always use it, LOL

  • the best throw from this video is from 3 :00 min ....amazing throw:D:D:D:D

  • i love this throw, got my friend in it so good.

  • The offspring, Can't Repeat

  • Whats the name of this music ?

  • not sure of the song but i'm thinking that the band is "offspring". yes it is offspring.

  • OK, ty ..

  • GREAT VID.. dam im really gonna train harder

  • is not koga doing more of a toshi naga or a combo of morote seo naga and tiotoshi?

  • ouch... 3:05 hurt... the guy forgot how to fall properly.

  • lol if u always will fall properly you will always lose :P

  • yea, was a close call there. a little bit less drift and he'd only scored wazari.

  • he is lucky tori somewhat turned him mid air.

  • awesome ippons!! geat vid dudde

  • one of the best throws, but it's way better if you make it while you're standing!

  • cool video man, it one of the nicest techniques to use, but i hate it when i gets used on my, even just during training

  • these videos are awesome u should make a tai otoshi one

  • lol, where u live at? what country?

  • My sensi said that he in all his years never saw a white belt perform in a high level with Moroto Seoinage...o.o am only a white belt and i did that....i was amazed with the power it can give u...ill use it in the coming up tournoment...
