I grew up in Phoenix, and saw my mom (when I was a kid) throw a large cup of cold water over my dad's windshield when there was a little frost on it, which didn't happen often.

So I moved north, and the first time there was frost on my windshield--you guessed it, I turned it from frost to a sheet of ice.

Just curious -- where was the footage shot? It's certainly the sort of weather that I encounter in Canada, and I can assure you that snow is most certainly not warm. If it were, we would all strip down and roll around in our bathing suits in the snow. And...uh...that just doesn't happen. Not very much, anyways. Unless there's a whirlpool or sauna to retreat to.

I've got a question. I hope it's not completely stupid. But, I've lived in Northern CA all but one winter of my 42 years. Is there a reason that people that live in the snow can't use a car cover when they pull in the driveway, and just uncover it when it's time to leave again (which would pull off all of the accumulated snow)?

Well I think you'd find that car cover frozen onto your car, and almost impossible to remove, lol :)

Also if you cover vehicles etc. with waterproof tarps for a long time, what happens is water (condensation) gets trapped, and basically causes it to rust.
