I think this song doesn't really fit the movie. IMHO, the whole point of it is that we don't really get to hear a voice other than the teenagers'. The film is minimalist insofar as it depicts the students' "typical" day only through THEIR point of view; I think superimposing another voice on that gives the film a polemical tone that it doesn't orginally have.

(Continued) I quit school at the end of 11th grade and got my diploma that month because I was contemplating a massacre. It got that bad. I suffered from horrible bullying for being the small, nice kid. It started in the 2nd grade and went on up until I quit, getting worst and worst. I tried everything from ignoring to resisting. Noone, not my parents, not school counselors, not even school administrators could offer me a solution.
With that said, school shootings aren't the answer. If you find yourself contemplating a school shooting or committing suicide due to others tormenting you, do whatever it takes to get the hell out of there immediately. Dudes, me and my friends played this at my school talent show, and when we were done, I realized how beautiful this song really is, and how it relates to everyone's lives. We didn't win, but overall, I think we won the most fans, and the most self-confidence we could have ever gained.

Get bullied year after year by a group of bullies, trying everything you can to make them stop, turning to everyone you can think of for help, from parents to counselors, getting no help whatsoever, while most kids standing by when it goes on join in to appease to their sadistic side. I think this song doesn't really fit the movie. IMHO, the whole point of it is that we don't really get to hear a voice other than the teenagers'. The film is minimalist insofar as it depicts the students' "typical" day only through THEIR point of view; I think superimposing another voice on that gives the film a polemical tone that it doesn't orginally have.

An 8th grade science partner to Eric said he can recall a group of students throwing a cup of feces at him. Most of the time, you not only get your ass kicked, the bullying gets worst. And that's just what happened. @ThaKingAri No doubt they are not "innocent". In fact, what they did was *beyond* wrong. But we must remember that: A) They did suffer from severe mental illnesses that were beyond their control, B) Without this occurrence, we would not take threats so seriously, and C) Acts against bullying have been since then established to ensure things of this sort do not occur again. Whether it was "selfish" or not, it made both society and America open their God damn eyes in an atrocious way..

Yes, they did an awful thing, but imagining some1 to do something so crazy like you being to feel sorry for that person. There was something wrong with these ppl. Ppl aren't just "crazy." Even sociopaths have problems whether it be a tumor on their amygdala and many more causes. You have to feel bad for the innocent and the enemy.

Their's nothing cowardly about showing up to a school on a planned date and shooting those who've victimized you with the intent to send a message to bully victims across the world that it's not ok to be bullied and a message to bullies to knock it off. Although school shooters have lost so much faith in humanity from their abuse that they decide to kill as many people as they can, the message still stands against bullying. It's still wrong but it wouldn't happen if they weren't pushed.

School shooters aren't cowards. Killing others you hate and then yourself doesn't make you a coward. When you're fed up with life and just want to go out with a bang to begin with, that's not cowardly. Coward is a word people use to make someone feel guilty for doing something they deem wrong. It's like alot of things in life. People twist truths to cope with things they cannot handle. School shootings are inspirational to bully victims. Those with a higher conscience know this to be true.
