Like most people, I heard Eva's voice for the first time years after her death and also was stunned. I went straight out and bought every cd I could find and each track from each cd inspires, elates and moves my soul. Eva and her music are a big part of my life now. There's no going back once you've listened to her. You are transfixed.

We had one of her (very interesting jazz) supporting bands at our wedding. A few mths later discovered Wogan made her famous everywhere that is except here in her home town/state/country! Then I had to know more about her, and when I realized she was dead I was just stunned and so sad... My two regrets are I never got to see her perform live and we will never have new music from this voice, this beautiful voice again. I will miss Eva Cassidy. What she could do with a song, to make it her own, just imagine what she would have done with some of today's music. Only can only dream.

Absolutely outstanding! So many times I have seen and heard young artists who feel they must do their own songs, even though an accomplished writer like Neil Young once said about 10 percent of his songs were any good!

Why not look at how Eva covered a song and completely rearranged it and made it her own?

when i heard Carly and Michael singin' this song on American Idol i LOVED it so i searched for the original version of the song and i found hers. i don't think that's the original version (or is it?) but it's certainly the BEST ONE by a mile.

i never heard about Eva since David Archuleta talked about her on "The View"

and i absolutely loved her! it'a real shame she's not among us anymore.

There's nothing unusual about different arrangements. Eva and to a lesser entent Joe Cocker did a better version. Strange after decades how Eva turned this song around. I've heard Joe's version many times I just don't know when he did it.
