How many people dream this and it never happens? I wonder if Noel saw something in the future when he wrote this song! Gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it!
IF ONLY MY GENERATION COULD REALIZE WHAT REAL MUSIC IS... ALL MY FRIENDS LISTEN TO RAP, & SPEED METAL & POP WITH NO REAL INSTRUMENTS.... :-( Oasis, Beatles, Zeppelin, Nirvana... That's where it's at... :-)
I would love an album of Oasis B-sides, because every one I listen to is pretty awesome stuff, usually Noel Gallagher's own, probably something Liam refused to sing on.
@alegrace Make your own dude..!! I have, I DO and will continue to..!!! It's very easy these days, and if you don't have MP3 or whatever, blank discs are cheap as owt..!!! Piece of piss mate, but well worth having your own collection of classics/favourites.. ;-)
How fucking amazing would it be if Noel played this on tour, He needs to realize that so many of his fans would love to hear stuff like this live. He has no idea. Paul Weller recently texted Noel telling Noel to play 'The Fame' ( a b-side from the 'All Around The World' single ) ( Noel mentioned this on a radio interview this month ) .
Paul Weller is on the ball, and knows what his fans want. He's always playing obscure tracks.
Flashbax, Shout It Out Loud, Angel Child..come on Noel !
@nikovich agreed, I was thinking when I was at a NGHFB gig, I'd go fucking bananas if i heard a song like Step Out or Going Nowhere played live...if only!
@RocksOff1039 Exactly, steal one of those songs, and if it eventually hits big, you might as well be called "The next big thing", they're that fucking good.
@RocksOff1039 I saw an interview by Liam saying that Oasis was clearly headed for an end because Noel wasn't making these B-sides anymore after Heathen Chemistry.
On October 8th we will all watch "Wonderwall" (the official video) in honor of the greatest band ever. Let's give them the best present : the highest viewed video on YouTube!!
Copy and paste to all Oasis / Beady Eye / Noel Gallagher videos and all music videos let's get this noticed quickly!
An astonishingly underated song. Written by a Noel Gallagher after a train journey and was convinced not to quit the band by some random woman he met on that train.
Just think.... maybe if he'd sat on a different seat that day, no 'Morning Glory' no 'Some Might Say' no 'Wonderwall' ....etc
@buffenbison no you are not insane !! there is 13 great songs in the masterplan , the only one i don't like is headshrinker ,but it's not a big deal cos noel give us the greatest songs of the last 20 years , so, one more time again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH MISTER GALLAGHER !!!
Just to clear things up. This song was written for and featured in the film adaptation of Irvine Welsh's book of short stories 'The Acid House'. It was in the section called 'A Soft Touch' and relates to the main character Johnny (whose wife is a slag and sleeps with the guy who lives upstairs from them). Arab Strap also wrote a song for that section called 'I Still Miss You' ...... pretty sure Belle and Sebastian wrote one for the film to but I can't remember what it was called.
According to Noel, "It's about what we were going to do when we got a shitload of money off Creation"... my interpretation would be that it's about many different bands and artists approaching record companies in an effort to be signed, but Noel was expecting his band to totally blow the mind of the record company owner (in this specific case, Alan McGee), seeing as it was written before the band was signed. In essence, I think that that line is from Alan McGee's perspective.
How about this for how Be Here Now could have been: 1: D'You Know What I Mean? 2: I Got (The Fever) 3: Going Nowhere 4: Stand By Me 5: Stay Young 6: Fade In-Out 7: Don't Go Away 8: The Fame 9: All Around The World 10: It's Getting Better (Man!!) 11: All Around The World Reprise I still think the actual Be Here Now is unfairly slanted, but this version could have been awesome- as good as Morning Glory maybe! Noel defo had the songs around in 1997 to make a classic album.
@rockleevampire if Oasis are better than the beatles, why did Oasis and certainly Liam Gallagher now with his new band, completely seem obsessed with copying the beatles' look, lyrics and songs, whereas obviously the beatles had never heard of Oasis.
It's just because Oasis are contemporary to you. If you were born in 1955 you would think the beatles were amazing and regard oasis as good but copycats
@raphaelogawa Noel always made his best work B sides. He made the songs that he believed would push the album as A sides. Notice how the majority of the B sides are mostly acoustic and it's Noel singing. It was his little time of fun while the songs Liam sang profit the album.
This song seriously puls tail.. I was considered a geek in my school.. unti I entered there weird little talent contest with my acoustic guitar and played this..
In 40 years kids will look back on this the way we look to The Beatles today. Let's hope Noel stays with us longer than Lennon stayed with our parents.
One of my favorite songs by the Godlike OASIS!! They should reunite again, we are all waiting for the day when we will see them together again. Such a shame such a talented band is no more.
i hate the masterplan (the album) because it frustrates me that so many great songs were relegated to a b-side album, each of those songs could have added another brilliant dimension to the band's catalogue
@isdebuggerpresent yeah that's true, but much less attention was paid to it with the knowledge that it was a b-side compilation. I love the album and all the songs as well, but I'm just saying they should have seen the light of day on regular albums instead of being relegated to a b-side compilation, no matter how good it was, to get its due attention.
