Yep, at least 3 servers populated at a constant fullish rate in the past week I played it. Mostly tactical, mature players, althought there definitely is your regular, no-mic, herpaderp squads in every round as well.

Here is difference:

ARMA isn't realistic. It's a military SIMULATOR it's MEANT to be realistic.

BF2 is meant for FPS... It's arcade style only for BF2.

Arma is meant for reality tactics. It's tough. You need a good computer to run it...

BF2 is a Arcade shooter.

but PR is a mod for BF2..> which isn't really REALISTIC then ARMA 2.

I'd say it finds a very good middle ground between extreme realism and accessibility/playability. The name is misleading to be honest since the game really focuses on bringing realistic player behaviour and teamwork to the fore, rather than in terms of hyper realistic equipment etc (although that is still included, it's just not a focus).

You'll need a legitimate (ie. bought) copy of Battlefield 2 for PC. Then just go to the website in the description and go to the download section to get the latest version.

You have to have BF2, it's a modification for the base game. It also has to be a legitimate copy, not pirating.

I played on the 120 once or twice and we played Muttrah it was very intense and I remember so many voices on mumble when we were in the middle of the city building a FOB.

@JiggyPR battlefield is absolute trash on console, trust me when I say this i've played every battlefield and loved most of them,(except BF:online thats in Korea) the consoles ports are trash and you can't use mods but if/when DICE releases mod. tools for the FS2 engine... O_O life shall be complete

I've gotta get a pc sorted, I've got one at my mam and dads but since the latest update, it drops loads of FPS about every 15 seconds for about 3 seconds. It makes it unplayable :-(

@youngblood212 because you just recently re-installed it you need to patch it up to the current version. look for the download for patch 1.41, and 1.50 after downloading them type in punkbuster update to google, it should bring you to evanbalance where u can download a punkbuster updater. after that you should be all set. if you have any problems google EA support chat , to talk to an EA person. if everything is all good go to the project reality website and download the mod =D

Hmm i played some 128 this morning.. just it was mumble required.. and i'm telling you hearing 60 people talk at the same time is not fun :P + voip + skype

Then you have a technical issue with mumble, you should only hear people within ~50m of you. Make sure you are running it as administrator and simply deafen yourself inbetween rounds.

There is no other way to play than with mumble, it improves the experience immeasurably.
