those are ...besides the delightfull accent we have ,we also have the greek thinking issue ,for expample ,whatever we are thinking in greek we translate it in the same way in english.

    δλδ ελεος!!!

  • She is hot !

  • @notgodsemigod [...] languages have similar pronounciation principal parts! It's only natural, and there'snothing wrong with it! As for your second point i disagree 100%!! When you are learning a language , you have to learn it right! It's part of the langauge's and the country's culture! You can't speak a foreigh language with your matternal's pronounciation! I'm not saying you should speak like an English man(e.g.) , but at least you should try. Otherwise noone will understand you!

  • @notgodsemigod I never said there's something WRONG with it! Where did you get that from?? You seem to be aggresive, while i never said anything offensive! As for the rest : 1) Certain languages have more of a "difficulty" immitating the accent of others, because their matternal one sonds nothing like it!. e.g. Swedish people tend to have a good english pronounciation...German people TEND (i repeat TEND) to have a good French pronounciation, because in both cases their matternal [...]

  • @notgodsemigod When you say "Greeks hate Arabs" , your problem is not just linguistic-excuse me!! You just can't get what i'm saying , can you? The countries i mentioned DO NOT have similar accents to each other!! They TEND (which means not all of them) to have generally heavier accents WHEN THEY SPEAK ENGLISH!! That's all i said, and it's not offensive to anyone, i even included my own country to this.

  • @notgodsemigod ........ok, you have an issue obviously, which has absolutely NOTHING to do with what i'm saying. If you have problems don't bring them here, you are in the wrong place. Arabs, Greeks , Russians , Turks.... etc, TEND to have a heavier pronounciation(not ALL of them , but generally some languages sound heavier than others). What the hell does that have to do with hatred, are u serious? And hey, i don't know who tells you that shit but Greeks certainly don't hate Arabs.

  • @notgodsemigod You didn't understand what i meant. I never said that Arab sounds like Greek!! All i said was her pronounciation is so "heavy" , it kind of reminded me of how people from countries with "heavier" accents speak English , like Arabs, Russians etc..... i think everybody got the general idea of what i meant, you shouldn't take it so literally!

    eipa egw oti dn einai?

  • Basically most Greeks have a thing about getting accents right as non-natives who try to speak Greek sound really silly so we try to avoid speaking English in Greek accent. The rolling R varies in Greece as well; that woman is exagerating it though the Greek "R" IS more rolling than the English one. As for the "H" Greeks use the Greek version mosty which sounds like the Indo-European "ch" as in German "ch" or Scotish "loch" or Middle Eastern "ch" sounds, again varies though from person to person

  • The girl is obviously exagerating, just for the fun of it......that sounds more like how an Arab would speak English, but anyways :)

  • rolling R and Heavy H

  • afto ine san arabika.. :S

  • I'm going to use this as practice for a Greek accent I need for a play, if you don't mind!

  • I'm greek but my english accent is completely British unlike my other classmates =D

  • all non native english speakers around the world have a hard or weird accent when they speak english....i think that happens cause as children they dont get to learn english by an english native speaker...they have a greek/italian/german/russian etc teacher instead who knows english as well...
