@freeturtle22 Water is kind of like any bike, the electrics are fairly well covered/isolated. I wouldn't want "swim" with it, but I have seen a couple of blown gas engines from water intake. I believe there is a cut-off fuse for hard-shorts, also.
Overall, I love the bike. No noise except the chain, and the 2011 will have a carbon-fiber belt instead, so there will be virtually NO NOISE at all! If they can fix the range issues, this would be a slam-dunk purchase!
Comes in Off-Road (this one), a Dual-Sport version, and a full Street legal version.
(The Street version is GREAT for in-town/city driving and commuting)
3: VERY light bike. With the tight throttle, it would be very easy to "loop" the bike. Also easy to pick up, and throw around under you as you ride!
4: Foot pegs have flattened tops, (on the 2010), boots slide off fairly easily. May be fixed on the 2011?
5: RANGE - This is the sticky problem. 40 minutes on full throttle, about 40-50 miles max range if taking it easy on the "gas". The company is working on this issue, from what I hear. (Continued again)
This ride was a "Demo" of the 2010 version, the 2011 has a LOT of updates and modifications. So, here is my opinion:
1: Throttle control is too tight, there is about 1/2 inch of play for feathering on/off the speed, otherwise, you are full ON or full OFF... they need to put a larger band for midrange play.
2: LOVE the power/torque, but with the tight throttle, I had the front end off the ground more than I would like. (Continued)
