Hi David - is the floating hand technique essentially the same as a down-stroke and an up-stroke when using drum sticks?

Is this the technique you use at 2:04 for the bass rolls? Are they intersecting (RLRL) or doubled (RRLL)?

@DurbsBT It's not quite like a down and up stroke, but there are similarities. The fingering for this particular roll is RLRL.
